Full disclosure after reading the other review — I don’t live in Headington Hall, but I do work on campus. I imagine if I wasn’t affiliated with campus and accustomed to horrible parking options, or walking to this establishment, my review might be lower. That being said, I am SOHAPPY Einstein Bros Bagels is in town and conveniently placed for the OU community. My last experience with this place was superb. I ordered a huge tray of breakfast bagels, coffee, orange juice, and plain bagels and cream cheese for my students during our class farewell party. They cut the bagel sandwiches in nice halves, making it easy to portion control those hungry college kids. I also love any place that will give me huge traveler mugs of good coffee. Something about that just makes me feel warm and cozy. They also gave me a coffee drinking setup with sugar, sweetener, and creamer. Instead of giving a million little creamers, they gave me a big pourable half carton. I liked that! The breakfast bagels are delicious. I want one right now, typing this. I also love the cream cheese spreads they offer(called shmears, I believe). There are several different varieties of shmears and bagels and sandwiches and everything I’ve ever tasted has been yum. The staff is always friendly too! I’ve never actually had to park at Einstein Bagels — I’ve always walked, or when I picked up the catering order, I parked in the back in a non-spot with my hazard lights on. There are only about 3 tables inside, but when the weather is nice, they are set up for patio seating. I would recommend swinging by during nice weather if you’re on campus walking around and you want a delicious bagel — breakfast or lunch.

Went to see if there was some competition for Old School bagels in town and let me tell you, there is not. Einstein Bros is on the first floor of Headington Hall at OU, but is plainly visible from Lindsey(a major) street. However it pretty much caters to the residents, if you drive there, you’re parking on another block. On the inside, everything is nice and… fine. Sterile, corporate… just like any other Einstein Bros. The service was good and the coffee was good, but the bagels, what I had come there for, were just not that good. Frozen, I suspect, as the green chills on the top of mine were still well below room temperature even after having been toasted. Again, this place caters to residents, and there’s so much foot traffic and so little space that my GF and I felt bad sitting inside and eating. That said, if I lived there I’d be stoked, because, A– I love bagels, and B– I’d be 18 years younger.
