Jenni’s Salon & Spa

Aside from styling hair, a salon has to make the client feel valued. Jenni’s fell short of this and I have never been back.
I arrived for my appointment but the receptionist told me in no uncertain terms, «You do NOT have an appointment and we are NOT a walk-​in salon!»
Well, I sure DID have an appointment but I should have asked for a card at the last appointment when I made it. *Someone* didnt enter it in the system, or whatever glitch occured … The receptionist did not apologize, nor did the stylist offer to work me in. Didnt reschedule, never will.
The upside is that I found a much better salon and stylist.

I just went and got a hair cut from Chelsea, and I absolutely love it! I will never go anywhere else in Bloomington-​Normal for my hair. She went over very clearly what I wanted for my hair to look like, and did exactly that. She was super friendly and I look forward to returning!

Had a really great facial here last month. Nice quiet rooms. I typically spend about $ 65 for a facial; luckily I had a gift card or otherwise I probably wouldn’t have tried them. I would recommend to a friend!

I have been going here for years. They have fantastic customer service. Heidi is always smiling helpful and efficient. All of their stylists are well trained. Love the wash room and massage during shampooing. Really love this place always get a great style and color. Also like that they goto shows and training and keep up on latest techniques.

I get my hair cut and highlighted at Jenni’s, and have had the occasional manicure there. It is a very professionally run salon which tries to achieve some level of standards across their stylists, especially regarding record keeping — they take extensive notes on your hair, treatments, cut, and even personal life (for conversation), and I really appreciate never having to remind them what I’ve had done. I am getting used to a new stylist there after my beloved Lacy left, and while my new stylist is much more green, she is improving.
As another reviewer has said (correctly) that this isn’t really a day spa — there is no lounge, sauna, showers, etc, to make use of after a service.
The gripe I have about this place is that they do not have enough nail techs — it is nearly impossible to get an appointment less than two weeks out for anything nail related. Thus, I rarely get my nails done here, even though they do an excellent job. I would prefer one-​stop services and would give them much more business if it was easier to schedule.

I heard about this place through word of mouth and I have to say the massage I had was definitely amazing! I had deep tissue massage and felt relaxed for days! Will be returning soon!

I’m not sure what it is that makes Jenni’s think their salon stylists are worth the prices they charge, but their prices are a bit ridiculous for Bloomington /​Normal area. They use terms like «master stylist,» but the master stylists were trained at Jenni’s Paul Mitchell School. Jenni has poured a great deal of money into her buildings, and she treats her employees very well, which is terrific for them, but you are paying big city prices for Central Illinois training and service. I’ve tried Jenni’s several times now for their hair salon services and each time been disappointed with the results.

I sent my mother here for her birthday for the first time. She said her massage was amazing and the place very modern and clean. Downside is that it is NOT a day spa. There was no sauna, steam room, etc. that would consider this a day spa. I would rather spend the extra ten bucks and go to a real day spa and take advantage of the amenities.

I have tried other salons in the area and Jenni’s is the most consistent. Their new salon for men, Mitch is trendy and a great place for a men’s cut. Solid price for a real haircut. If you can’t get in at Mitch, Jenni’s is owned by the same people and has the same stylists! This is the only salon that I have found that really cater’s to men.

I was referred by word of mouth to this salon. It’s fantastic! Upscale, clean & very modern male. It has tv’s playing ESPN & news. They offer complementary drinks (including I believe, Bud Light). They are always very welcoming & friendly. I have been with Alex now for several months and my haircuts have been extremely consistent. They charge $ 25 for a basic cut & wash and that’s pretty reasonable for a «real» haircut. I definitely recommend Mitch’s to any guy looking for a great haircut.

I’m not your average guy who is happy with a $ 14 hair cut. Yeah I cringe a little bit at the $ 30 price for a hair cut, but the people are nice (they will get you a drink while you wait and hang your jacket and tie for you). The haircuts look good and the staff is very friendly. I’ve had much better haircuts here than at Fox and Hounds.
