Not quite sure why so many low reviews, but I love the food I have eaten here. I stop by at least 3x a month for lunch. Love! Love! Love the Greek sliders. Also enjoy their burgers. Fries are great, and so are their onion rings. Smells like a bar cuz it is one, but I get the great food at very reasonable prices(always under $ 10) to go.

Surprisingly delicious dinner menu for a bar type environment. Very fun social watering hole. Great DJs, & live bands. The maple salmon is A-mazing! Great bartenders, they’re quick & experienced with high volume traffic.

Went to Scotty quixx a couple of weeks ago for paint night, the place is big and plenty of places to seat. But oh wow, really cold! So make sure to have a sweater or long sleeve shirts. We had dinner before paint nite, I order the fish tacos, they where ok. A little too dry no sauce, my friends order fry fish. I believe it was good. The service was excellent.

This place can get packed! However a lot of fun and energy in this bar. Have visited a couple times to pregame and bar hope. The service has always been fast and polite. Very laid back atmosphere. The drinks are great as well.

Came here on a weekend night because a bunch of locals recommended it. If you like generic top 40s music from mid 2000s, this is the place. At one point early in the evening, they did play house music which was odd because the rest of the night was all outdated music. I don’t see what’s so great about this place. Rather play Carley Rae Jepsen and TSwift in my living room, drink PBR, and eat Taco Bell…

Really love this place! My boyfriend and I come here practically every Sunday to watch the football games. The bartender Matt is definitely one of the best in town. He really goes out of his way to make us feel welcome. The food is great also! The chef really knows what he’s doing. I highly suggest the steak and cheese, bbq chicken nachos, and wings!

Nice bar but huge sausage fest every week, unless of course you are into that sort of thing. Drinks are way too over priced. And there is always a line in front with a guy charging 10 $ covers. I would recommend not going here unless you enjoy getting lit with a bunch of dudes and a few Grenades

Why isn’t there a No stars option! Well the place is in a great location, so I recommend passing this space/bar and going anywhere else… It will be better. As A Unilocal Elite member we really do value businesses that try to ensure honesty and value and Scotty Quixx is a low class establishment. Came here on a Friday night for drinks and I knew not to have high expectations as some of my friends told me about the service/scene and vibes there. I decided to stay and have a beer with the girls. No problem besides the DJ cursing, telling girls to get wild on the actual bar. Pretty sure this is not a strip club and that’s not safe for intoxicated people. Regardless the night went on, I went to close my $ 23 drink tab and the waitress had charged an extra shot then said she would not charge it and took it off. Cool… we left and the rest is history as I don’t plan on returning. I get my debit card statement and somehow I was charge close to double… why? I decided I’ll be reasonable and it must have been a mistake. I went ahead and called Mark, one of the owners and he find the receipt asked me the amount I was supposed to be charged. Either the sketchy waitress/bartender added herself a nice $ 14 tip or the manager manipulated my signature. He said he would look into it and call me back. Is been two days and you know what I don’t need a call back. I don’t need the drama this place has. I believe there was forgery and the fact that a owner was unconcerned is beyond me. Don’t go here. It’s a scam. It’s scummy and other nearby businesses deserve your business and they would gladly help out if any incident has occurred.

What can I say about this place that the last reviewers already haven’t said? I’m gonna keep it simple and use numbers instead of my typical story line method to get my points across. 1. You need to put a sign up saying seat yourself so new customers will know that, I will not assume. Do not just point to a table an give a «duh» look as if I should already know that. 2. Change your website! I came here for the sole reason of having happy hour! Your website which as of today is still not up to date. Shows that you have happy hour every day and even goes a step further by having a menu up . You all clearly know that its up because your waitress gave me the«aww dang» statement by saying it hasn’t been updated yet and yall are going through changes. That’s not a good excuse for me. 3. You aren’t that busy. During my visit there were a total of 3 tables filled, and 2 people sitting at the bar. For employee count there was 1 waitress helping the 3 tables, the bartender helping the people at the bar and 3 other employees walking around. During the 1 ½ time frame I was there those extra employees could have used their time by updating an out of date website instead of chilling at the bar talking. 4. Get a drink menu. Just another thing that they are updating that did not exist. What bar doesn’t have a drink menu? This one I see. Lastly, take these comments seriously. You are taking up prime granby st. real estate with bad service and a I don’t care, I don’t have the time, I’m updating whatever attitude. My food, which was well priced and decent did not matter to me at the end of the day because the above 4 things were so offputting that it ruined the whole experience for me here. I hope you finish your«updates and changes» soon cause by the looks of it, you will not last another 6 months.

This was quite a disturbing experience for our Girls Night Out. :( We all came here to enjoy the happy hour specials we saw here on Unilocal.Their website also looked like this spot was the place to be, so I was thrilled to come here. Just check out their website. It looks like a fun, happening place. I guess we came at the wrong time. When we arrived, we immediately noticed that there were barely any patrons inside. Looking perplexed, we stood at the door trying to figure out if we were supposed to seat ourselves. I waved to the waitress who was standing near the bar and asked her if we should choose our seats or wait to be seated. She looked at us and then signaled that we could choose our seats. That was awkward. We’ve never been here before, so we had no clue what to do. A sign would’ve been helpful. While waiting for my friend to arrive, we noticed that the restaurant had a cool interior and the décor was pretty hip. We were also trying to figure out why this place wasn’t crowded. My cousin asked the waitress if we could see the drink menu. Our waitress said that they didn’t have a drink menu and things were changing. She explained that they were in the process of changing their menu. My cousin then asked about their happy hour specials. The waitress explained that they no longer have Happy Hour Specials. At that moment, we both were considering if we should just leave. Eventually my friend arrived and we explained to her that there were no happy hour specials and that they did not have a drink menu, however, the food on their menu was reasonably priced and they had plenty of items that appealed to us. So, we decided to stay and give this place a try. I ordered the pizza of the week. It was printed on the menu as the Caprese pizza. I was enthused because it was a vegetarian pizza. Woohoo! I also ordered onion rings and a side garden salad. Sorry, but I can’t remember what my cousin and girlfriend ordered. Anyway, when our food arrived, I received the wrong pizza. It was a buffalo chicken pizza. The waitress apologized for the error and said that we could keep that one. She again explained that the menu was changing and she believed the cook got mixed up. My cousin and friend both had a slice of the buffalo chicken pizza. My friend gave it a thumbs up but I’m not sure if my cousin liked it. Moving along… My cousin received an additional order of fries with her order. The waitress said that she wouldn’t charge her for that. I’m going to skip further ahead here and say that when I finally received the Caprese pizza I was very pleased with the taste. My onion rings were delicious and my salad was fresh. As far as the drinks… well… my girlfriend ordered a Long Island Ice Tea which was clearly prepared correctly with the right amount of alcohol. People who order this drink often will tell you that if its dark, it has not been prepared right. My cousin ordered the same drink. Her drink was dark. She took one look at it and was certain it wasn’t going to taste right. She took a sip, pushed her drink aside and notified the waitress. She was not charged for the drink. I didn’t order any alcohol. I stuck with water. I must mention that while we were there, a bizarre man in a red hoodie came in and sat directly across from us. He flopped down in his chair and said out loud that he saw her(my friend) walking down the street and he just had to come in. He was loud and very inconsiderate. He interrupted our conversation several times and was determined to get my friend’s telephone number. She didn’t want anything to do with him. I notified the waitress that he was badgering my friend and making it very difficult for us to enjoy ourselves. He clearly was not there to order food. After yelling obscenities towards us for asking him to go away, our waitress had him removed from the restaurant. She told us that he had been there earlier causing disruptions. :-/ Although I was satisfied with my food, I was very disappointed with the atmosphere of the restaurant and lack of happy hour specials. We came on a Friday evening expecting to experience much of what we observed in the galleries on their website. Well, at least our bellies were full.

Hi Unilocalers! Congratulations on being among the first to read my first review. FIRSTOFF, my great friend, who is an «elite» Unilocaler, along with her Unilocaler cousin– invited me to this«hidden gem,» of a happy hour spot… SIKE!!! I walk in to a dead lounge with more tables and chairs enjoying happy hour than people. When I plopped down, I was informed by my happy hour warriors that this nice empty lounge no longer has a happy hour… I was slightly taken aback by this announcement. I shrugged this off, and attempted to order an appetizer… I was told, by the nice waitress that they did not have any rib bites… ok, then I was told by my friend that they also had no drink menu, no frozen margaritas, no mojitos… WOW!!! My first impression of this place? Sucky duck!!! If you’re looking for a fun filled happy hour joint– this may not be the place for you!

This place is a joke. There is no logical reason to willingly stand in a line to be nut to butt with a bunch of dickheads. Never again. Also, only 5 minutes into standing outside, some douche was booted out for groping women inside. Really classy joint.

Okay. I’m updating my review. I had 1 bad experience and 3 really good ones. So it’s time to update… The happy hour runs from 4−830pm with the highlight of $ 1.25PBR draft PINT, 3 $ wells, 2 $ domestics, $ 3 fire balls… And they have happy hour eats. 5 wings for $ 3 this bad as Mexican pizza for 8 $ which was like some kinda heavenly open face quesadilla. So so good! We also had a nice portion of nachos. All in all I’ve had a nice time this past 3 visits. had a special 25 $ gift card for $ 4.10 so I bought $ 100 worth so every time I spend $ 50 I get $ 25 off. It was cheaper to use my gift card last Tuesday so I bought the bar a round of happy hour fire ball hahaha. This place is cool. There’s a jukebox you can hook up your smart phone and pay a small fee to play songs… I will be back. Their happy hour is off the chain… The ignorant Asian is a thing of the past

I’m actually loving this place. I think it is a very pleasant and entertaining lounge. The setting is spacious and creatively divided in parts. The cool and fun vibes make this entire place come alive. The jukebox machine, video games and billiard table is an added value. I came here on Wednesday night for drinks and to check out the salsa night. Surprisingly, no one was there at the time that was advertised. I actually waited for an hour unfortunately it was empty. I was a bit disappointed but I had an enjoyable and wonderful visit. The bar area is definitely my favourite spot. Its a good spot to drink and just chill. Yes, I will come back and maybe try the Sunday brunch.

They’ve updated this place a lot since the last time I was here. It’s looking good. They fixed all the seats, which were looking rough before. We love coming here on Sunday for football. They really have the best specials we’ve found downtown. My fiancé LOVES their wings, and they’re only $ 5! They have great beer specials on Sunday — $ 7 buckets. I’m a fan of their crab dip, and it’s only $ 4 on Sundays!

Service here is so confusing. You can’t tell who works here, who’s a guest here, or who’s baby is being passed around(to about 7 different people not in the same group). It was busy at the bar but the one bartender working had it under control. Our server on the other hand-was inattentive, sloppy, and very unobservant and yet she had a total of 3 tables. We ordered a pitcher of mimosas(nothing to write home about), a simple cheese pizza, and 10BBQ wings. Our pitcher took a solid 8 minutes to arrive at our table, our simple cheese pizza turned into a Philly cheese steak(not good!) and we got 8 wings out of the 10… which were all cold. We didn’t get quality checked, we didn’t get asked if we’d like more mimosas or waters, basically we were ignored while everyone played house with each other(seriously-WHO works here?! We can’t tell!). We waited for our check to be dropped for an additional 9 minutes after asking for it-and another 5 before she picked it up. Needless to say, I give this place 1 star, and that’s only because the booth I’m sitting in is plushy. Oh! And there’s currently small children running around and screaming throughout the place, lovely! Definitely will not be returning to this place, ever. Way to go, Downtown Norfolk. Womp womp.

Come early to avoid the $ 10 cover charge. On out most recent visit we arrived at about 9:30−10 ish and was able to get a booth(later on in the night they become off limits). I order their chicken caesar wrap and it was surprisingly delicious. My biggest pet peeve is when places go overboard on the sauce and the wrap gets soggy, but this wrap held up, even a few hours later as I ate the rest of it on the ride home. Their cocktails and shots are rather pricey but they have $ 2PBR on tap. We probably wouldn’t have had so many rounds of shots if we knew ahead of time that they were $ 7 each. But then again we usually tend to frequent hole in the wall type bars, so perhaps that price is pretty normal for granby street. Music was pretty good and the DJ had some nice mixes. It did get super crowded but because we had a booth we were able to avoid all that. People watching was actually quite fun since the booths are raised you get to see everyone and everything. The crowd was mixed but everyone was polite and just seemed to want to have a good time. I wasn’t hassled or groped by anyone. I’d come again but only for special occasions, like a birthday or bachlorette party.

This used to be my jam. Back in 2006 and 2007 I used to roll in to this spot every weekend. Those days are over and it was actually weird for me to be out on a Saturday night. Things haven’t changed. The place is still hoppin’. I love the vibe, drinks are reasonable and you get a pretty diverse crowd. One thing though… The DJ plays dance music but there really isn’t a dance floor. I don’t know when this happened but the pool table has been moved from the raised stage-like area to the entrance. The men’s bathroom line gets pretty long so once you break the seal be prepared to spend a good portion of your night standing in line. Oh, they have a cover charge. I didn’t know places still had those around here. If you know the DJ apparently there’s some passcode to get in for free. Glad my friend knew who was mixing the beats for the night. It’s been several years since I’ve eaten there but it was good seven or eight years ago. Not sure what’s on their menu now… Anyway, it was fun going back to an old stomping ground and I’m glad to see things haven’t changed over the years. It’s a little different for me these days but still a decent spot.

Warning***** If you use a Groupon you can NOT order from the happy hour menu… The food is good. Not the greatest place to eat.
