I thought this place was going to be expensive but it was very reasonably priced. I needed both my tires repaired and the bike checked out overall. They didn’t try to sell me anything I really didn’t need and my bike was ready to pickup in a couple of hours. The guy working was extremely helpful and took his time answering all my questions. I decided to by a new bike seat while I was there they even told me if I didn’t like it I could exchange it. After a few days the seat wasn’t as comfortable as I would have liked so I rode my bike to the shop and they let me exchange it like they said so I got a much more comfortable seat for city riding and trail riding. I defiantly recommend this place to anyone needing a bike or just repairs

Super happy with them! I wanted to buy my wife a new Road bike for her birthday and get it ready in time for her first triathlon. I brought her in to be sneaky and just find out some information, really to size her on a bike, they were so helpful and informative. They worked with me to make sure it was a surprise! It was perfect and my wife is so happy with her new bike. I highly recommend them.

I went to Norfolk Bicycle Works for the 2 years I was stationed on Norfolk Naval Station. I’m a pretty avid commuter with only minimal bike knowledge but the two owners usually pointed me in the right direction for minor fixes and purchases which become necessary over continuous months of commuting. However, I was not so satisfied with my latest purchase. I asked for a recommendation on a replacement commuter tire for my bicycle. After purchasing it, I noticed it was too large and rubbed against the inside of my fork when it was inflated close to max psi. I was sure they were aware that I rode a standard road bike and I’m confused why they would point me in the wrong direction. But everyone makes mistakes and I’m glad I noticed it.

I needed a new bike and after looking around they had the best customer service and the most reasonable prices.
I’m over 6′ tall and most places don’t have bikes that fit my frame. Norfolk Bike Works had several bikes that had an extra large frame in stock.
They also offer lifetime free adjustments if you by a bike from them and if you have a flat, the first tube is on them.
I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else for bike needs.

So its 6:30 and I’m in search of a bicycle shop as my tire had popped on my way home from work the previous day and I had procrastinated about getting it fixed. Called 2 bicycle shops in Norfolk, both closed at 7. The other bicycle shop in Ghent seemed in a rush to get me off the phone and to make a point that they «closed» at 6 but were open until 7. On the other hand I called these guys and they were happy to welcome me in. I arrived at 6:45 and brought my rim that had more problems than I thought with me. The two guys working (I cannot remember their names) were more than happy to help me fix my rim and help me choose new tires for my bike. They ended up staying until 7:30 to get my wheel right and used spare parts to repair it at no charge, only a modest $ 5 bike repair fee!
This was by far the best customer service I have received in any industry in quite some time! I DEFINITELY will return here when I need any bike part or want to buy another bike.

I didn’t even buy anything and the guy there said he’d repair my seat with spare parts from others. I’ve never been to a place that would do such a kind hearted thing.
The assortment of bikes is more than enough so you’ll be sure to find something that suites you.
There’s something that hits you when you walk in the store. I don’t know if it’s the fact that they don’t hassle you, that they’re so helpful, or just have a love for what they do. Whatever it is, it’s noticeable!

I came in to buy a bike today, it won’t be from here! Whatever his reasons were to be so rude and unpleasant the guy who walked to me lost a customer today…

Beautiful shop, great inventory, terrible service. I came in with two bikes needing to be serviced. They ridiculed my triathlon bike (on loan from a friend for my first triathlon), didn’t answer any of my questions, and in general made me feel like an idiot. Never have I been so disrespected as a customer. It’s a shame, because their shop is beautiful. I won’t be going back.

I’ve come in to this shop with a few repair issues over the past 9 months, and the shop owner and his workers have been friendly, conversational, and very helpful. Once they walked me through the process of replacing the stem and handlebars of my bike without charging a dime for labor/​advice — it’s clear they’re more interested in solving the problem than charging exorbitant prices. Highly recommended if you’re in Ghent with a bike problem.

This bike shop is great!
The guys (Paul and ?? – sorry!) who work here are so nice and helpful. I’ve been in several times to purchase small things, and if I still lived in Norfolk, I would be purchasing my next bike there. It’s obvious that these guys love what they do and get cyclists.
They helped me pick out some Christmas gifts for my partner, who is an avid, all-​season cyclist who lives in NY. We weren’t sure if he would need small items or medium, so I purchased the medium size garments. As it happens, he required the small.
He returned the medium garments without any problem and they ordered the smalls for him. Because I was in the throes of moving to NY, I totally forgot to pick the garments up when they came in to the shop. Do you know what these guys did? They shipped them to me. And they didn’t charge me, though I was willing to pay for the shipping, considering it was my fault.
To me, that just screams great service.
If you are a cyclist or love someone who is, give these guys your business. You will not regret it.
