I’ve had a terrible experience with this company. They have a great presentation at first, but they never explicitly talk about hidden costs that are associated with everything. Make sure you ask detailed questions as you cannot rely on them to explain everything. What bothers me most is their tag line is that they take care of everything so their customers don’t have to worry. Well I can tell you that I was worry every step of the way. I didn’t even want to leave the apartment. And this was a relatively small local move too. One of the movers came to the apartment sick. He spent about 30 min total throwing up in the toilet. I called the manager and he insisted that he was fine. But of course, the mover continued to be sick throughout the day. After throwing up, he continued to pack my clothes and items. After calling again, the manager yelled at me, the customer, and said that he was sick and tired of hearing complaints about the mover. This is obviously not good customer service. After the move, I decided to talk to the headquarters and they kept routing me around and around and finally to the complaints department. They said that before anyone can talk to me, they needed a written complaint. I followed protocol and no one ever called me back. If you have any other choices for moving companies, choose them. Bekins does not appear geared towards helping their customers.
