Marilyn Van Horn, MD

I moved to the area 3 years ago and needed to find a doctor. I have seen her several times this year and have had 100% positive experiences with her. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She seems to genuinely care, doesn’t rush you, and is professional. All of my needs were taken care of and I felt confident that I was receiving the best care I could. I trusted her advice and am sad that I will be moving again and will have to find a new doctor. They have a nice office and the staff is so nice and efficient.

My husband and I recently moved to the area and I needed a new physician I read the other reviews on Dr. Van Horn and decided that I would give her a try. I was NOT disappointed. She was warm, friendly, and made me feel like a priority and not just a run-​of-​the-​mill patient or number. The staff members I encountered were also friendly and patient. I needed bood work done and they are able to do it right in the practice there through Labcorp and the whole experience was easy and pleasant. I was very impressed!

I switched primary care doctors about a year ago and started seeing Dr. Van Horn at the recommendation of a friend/​coworker. My appointments have always been on time. I never had to wait past my appointment time to be seen. The office flow is very efficient. At my former doctor’s office I would still be in the waiting room 30+ minutes after my scheduled time. Dr. Van Horn is very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. I never feel rushed. All my needs are addressed even beyond the purpose of the appointment. If you are new to the area or are looking to switch to a different primary care doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Van Horn.

I just recently visited Dr. Marilyn Van Horn and was very impressed with her as well as the building in which she is located and the staff inside of the office. One thing that is FANTASTIC about making an appointment with her is that she holds ‘late night’ hours on certain nights of the week (up until 8pm) aka I don’t have to take any time of work to make a Doctor’s appointment! That’s well worth going to Dr. Van Horn alone, but on top of that she was very kind and clearly cared about the reasons that I came in for my visit. I was a new patient and my paperwork was taken care of quickly and effectively. The woman who was working the front desk the night that I was there was also very friendly and helpful and put me at ease immediately.
I searched for a while for a general doctor in the Norfolk area and so far I am very happy about going with Dr. Van Horn at Hague Medical.
