Need a gift for serious foodie? Chances are FS is the spot. Aluminum is king, handles are plastic, and EVERYTHING is top quality and utterly indestructible. Oh, and wait until someone comes from behind the counter. Prepare to be educated! Great folks, excellent service. 4⁄5!

I was very impressed with their inventory of stuff, but even more impressed with their customer service. Unfortunately, I needed something extremely specific which they did not carry. Instead of turning me away, they happily directed me to another store in town. Rather than driving there, I bought the ‘next best thing’ which Frank Spicer did have in stock. After the transaction, one of their employees insisted that she help me carry my things across the street. How nice! Parking isn’t exactly convenient here, but it won’t keep me from returning.

Staff is welcoming, nice, and helpful without ‘eyeing’ you throughout the warehouse. The owner(?) even made small talk and gave tips as she rang me up. I recommend going in knowing what you’re looking for so that you arent immediately lost, although wandering in is just as fine as they literally have an ‘open door’. I wish they had more :) Park in the back behind Envy. Cool find: Navy dinnerware sets with military insignia and metal inlay for $ 1 a piece. Norfolk souvenirs anybody?

Ok this is a slightly unfair Unilocal as we’re not restauranteurs but my wife might as well be a professional chef, she is in my book, because her cooking skills. In any case we stopped by to see what this might offer for the home chef. Although the staff was polite and helpful it really didn’t have too much for us, specifically a commerical grade stand mixer. Other than nicely cared for used equipment /supplies needed to feed far more than a large household or smaller items like utensils it was just A-OK for our needs. We’ll give another wholesale restaurant supply shop a shot but in the end we’ll probably be back at one of our favorite shops for cooking supplies… the Williams Sonoma in McArthur Mall.

You know how you’ll walk into one of those stores(The Container Store is one of them) and you’ll want to buy things that you don’t have any use for? Ok, well, I guess it’s just me then. Frank Spicer is one of those places for kitchenware. They have had many years of experience providing supplies for restaurant owners and professional chefs. They don’t have a parking lot, but I park at the BP right behind it and walk in. They have anything from pepper grinders, to stoves, to high quality cooking ware(woks, spatulas, spoons etc). If it seems that my lists are ADD-like, well they are because I’m trying to give you an idea of how extensive their supplies are!
