Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore

I will end 2015 the same way I ended 2013, with a review of the Food bank of SE Virginia. I continue to be a permanent member of the non-​paid staff here. You can generally find me here Monday and Wednesday mornings doing whatever needs to be done. I suppose that by now I have very near 1000 volunteer hours doing whatever needs to be done with the most wonder people I have ever worked with. This includes paid staff and volunteers.
I have been rewarded in many ways for my dedication to the Food bank. I have made friends that are now in my personal social life. I have seen the happiness in the eyes of the people we help. I receive the smiles of appreciation from the employees here, who now all know my name. My husband is now part of their Back Pack Delivery program as a truck driver. This year the Food bank nominated me and I received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, what a wonderful gift!
