It’s been a long time since I shopped Eddie Bauer. This is not because I don’t like them and more to do with my clothes shopping is limited. The last time I browsed an EB was in the Williamsburg Outlet Mall. I have always like their style and quality and was pleased to see they are keeping this trend up. The Norfolk Eddie Bauer is located on the second floor in MacArthur Mall downtown. As much as I’m in this mall it is astounding that I have not popped in. What drew me in was a sale sign for 50% off back packs, so I decided to check them out. The stores display racks presented nicely and had a warm feel. Concrete floors ran from front to back giving it a cool urban vibe. The place was spotless clean too, so you know I’m loving it. I saw an older male employee working the floor and we both made eye contact at the same time. The staffer greeted me and asked if he could assist with finding something. After discussing I was looking for back packs he quickly took me to the back of the store to look at a nice array of back packs. Many sizes and colors and all 50% OFF. Plus a 10% military on top, so 60% OFF… SWEET!!! The sales person showed me a few and knocked my socks off with his product knowledge. It’s rare to find an employee that talk the talk and walk the walk. He also had passion for his job, again a rarity these days. He flat out sold me and there was no way I would consider looking else where. The bags are great quality and guaranteed for life, so I felt good about the company standing behind my purchase. My checkout was very smooth and a nice conversation ensued about the future of EB in the HR area. The new outlet mall proposed in Norfolk at I64/N. Hampton is slated to have on of the largest EB in the country. It will offer everything, retail and outlet lines. This visit convinced me that I need to shop EB much more often.

Always love Eddie Bauer! Great deals, memberships, and military discount. But never have I had a more pleasant experience with the sales staff. The gentleman helping me out was named Michael, and he was far and above one of the most pleasant, professional, and helpful salesman I’ve spoken with. Definitely an asset to the store. Add that to a clean and well organized store and you have a winner.
