I wish there was a selection for negative stars for Dr. Steven Snyder and his front desk staff!!! I was informed by Tricare that I could schedule an appointment for my child to visit this facility for his yearly eye exam. I called to schedule an appointment; however, had to wait for over 10 minutes. I hung up and called again only to be disconnected by whom I would consider to be the receptionist… After finally speaking with the receptionist she was randomly placing me on hold during out conversation and not once asked about insurance or forms of payment. On the day of the appointment, I checked in with the front desk and was asked if I had a referral from Tricare, to which I replied«no, I do not need it for a yearly exam». Another woman sitting at the front desk, was rude and remarked that even she knows that Tricare has to give referrals for appointments, keep in mind, this rude lady was not the individual assisting me. I was given a form to sign without any type of instruction which upon investigation was a form for me to cover the cost of the appointment. I respectfully declined to sign the form and showed the original receptionist an email which was sent to me from Tricare that verified not needing a referral. The original receptionist asked me to wait so I could see the optometrist. After waiting 1.5 hours I saw the nurse which after 15 minutes she called me back into her office she requested that I resign the form ensuring that I would pay for the office visit to which I declined and I was instituted that the optometrist would not see my son. This business is unfriendly and not helpful at all, I will be filling complaints to attempt to have them removed from authorized Tricare providers. they seemed very lazy and unwilling to do their job. Please stay away and find another clinic for your child.

I took my daughter to see Dr. Snyder. She kept blinking during the exam because it’s quite discerning when someone is trying to touch your eye as a grown up much less as a child. He became angry and told my daughter that he had warned her several times to stay still and bring her face forward. I wanted to punch him in the face, but I didn’t react, instead I called to speak with him the next day and he hasn’t had the courtesy to call me back to apologize for his behavior. He shouldn’t be working with children if he doesn’t have patience. I feel this isn’t the doctor if you have children, go elsewhere !!!

I don’t wear glasses, so I’m not used to having my eye looked at, let alone poked at. Kinda FREAKSMEOUT! But when it became apparent I had some kind of «debris particle» stuck in my cornea and no amount of eyewash would rinse it out, Patient First referred me to Dr. Snyder. I was in a lot of pain at the time and Dr. Snyder was able to see me within a couple hours of calling for an appointment. He had to scrape my cornea to clear the debris. It wasn’t scary at all because he was totally cool and told me exactly what I could expect. He was really great at taking the time to explain how it would feel and what I could do to get through it. More than the eye poking, I was afraid of the bill because my health insurance doesn’t cover any out of pocket medical costs. Dr. Snyder went with me to make sure I paid a reduced rate when I checked out at the front desk. My bill was only $ 80. What a relief! He also told me he normally would have people come back in for a recheck, but to avoid cost, I only had to return if I was having a problem. I’m not gonna lie, the short recovery time was painful. But I was better after a day and my eyes are happy and healthy again. Dr. Snyder was great. I would definitely go to him again if I have any eye problems.
