Commonwealth is the perfect place not only for guys looking for more than the expected, but also for any sassy ladies who like clothes that are unique but still have feminine appeal. Unfortunately, the prices are pretty equal to the quality, but the sales are insanely doable. I’ve gotten several Hellz Bells(not sure if they are currently carrying this line) and Stussy t-shirts and Keep kicks without ever regretting the money spent. The best part about shopping at Commonwealth is that although everything could easily make an outfit, they work even better being incorporated into what you already own. They are all versatile while remaining thoughtful. Commonwealth is more active than most retail stores and hosts several events that support the clothing, of course, but even more so, a lifestyle.

I honestly didn’t know what to think when I was walking into this shop. Sure, I loved my ghetto Nike sneaks but was I a little too old to walk into this skater/street inspired shop? NOPE. I loved the open layout and right away noticed that the Women’s section was 50% off! T-R-O-U-B-L-E. Some of the pieces didn’t make sense for my wardrobe but then again as a woman who wears tutus and sparkly royal blue high-top Chucks… I can make it work. I found 3 basic tanks from Cheap Monday and a respectable $ 9– $ 11 for them. Even before the 50% off, they were reasonably priced! An adorable fuchsia checkerboard apron skirt with expansive pockets didn’t work on my body-type but was priced to sell at $ 50. The original price of $ 100 seemed a little steep and when the very helpful sales guy let me know that they are discontinuing Women’s merchandise, this made sense. My opinion would be that they discontinue the«higher end» Women’s pieces like this and stick with moderately priced tees, jackets, jeans, etc. As a dame who loves to spend money on clothes, I would happily spend $ 100 and waaaaaay beyond on an item as long as it has staying power and will be something that I would live in. This piece along with most of the other pieces that were priced $ 100 or over are great looking but even I raise an eyebrow to a cutesie hoodie for $ 110. I wouldn’t even pay the $ 52 sale price for such a dispensable item. I added to my bounty a uniquely gorgeous crinkle blouse for $ 30 and a sweeeeeeet pair of Nike high tops to add to my sneaker collection for just $ 50! So EXCITED! My receipt totaled $ 116 and I scored 5 items that I love. Not bad at all. I was completely selfish and barely looked at the Men’s section but it appeared to have a nice selection of hats, sneakers, and apparel. The only reason, I gave Commonwealth 3 stars instead of 4 is because they are discontinuing their women’s collection and therefore alienating myself and others from future business. Take my advice on buying differently for the women’s merchandise. I could help, with my retail/fashion background if you want it :) I would certainly suggest at least giving this spot a chance, you never know that might fancy your eye.

This boutique has it all, with brands ranging from Original Fake and 10 Deep, to Nike, Reebok, Play Clothes etc… All the dope brands! The store also has Commonwealth branded gear(fitted hats, limited edition kicks, and tees). The staff is friendly and interested in helping you. The website ships worldwide and offers much of the same selection as the store. They also have a second location in Washington DC.

I don’t think the sneaker offerings are as dope as it use to be commonwealth is still the spot to get fresh. You can find most of the top streetwear here(supreme.10 deep, BBC) Most of the stuff you will find is pretty limited. So if your looking to stand out and look good while doing it this is the spot to go.

When I found a store that carried Billionaire Boys Club I was ecstatic. But only because my boyfriend and friends idolize this urban/hip hop clothing. Being from the west coast, I was also excited to learn that Pharell is from nearby Virginia Beach. This stuff is so costly. I don’t understand why people love it so much. But I went ahead and shelled out $ 92 for a t-shirt. It is a cool looking store and pretty busy, but they try to be really helpful even though it can be slow. Just when I thought I found the only store to carry these lines, I was walking home in San Francisco and found another store with the same time of clothes and shoes. But I still think Commonwealth is a cool store!

i got my pair of adidas metro atittudes here. they slang some dope styles and the shipping comes pretty quick for a store based all the way in VA. i’ve never stepped foot inside their store, but as an online store, i give ‘em props for making their merch available(just in case i can’t find the stuff around the local botiques in the area) — makes it convenient. get your ice creams, alife, bapes, nikes, stussy, adidas originals, and the like here.
