This is one of our favorite local restaurants. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. Whenever we feel tired and hungry, we go here for a hearty meal and leaving feeling great. I normally order hot tea and one of their vegetarian dishes. The lunch buffet is delicious, but be prepared to be overstuffed!

I have been getting take out from this place for a while. They have amazing food! I always get a lot of Naan as I use it for everything! I highly recommend the Paneer 65, Vegetable Manchurian, the Paneer Makhani, and the Egg Curry. You pretty much can’t go wrong with anything you order from here though. Best Mango Lassi’s ever! So if you are in the area def. give this place a try!

Horrible food and horrible service. The restaurant is very old and stinks. Tables were dirty and sticky. Don’t waste your time and money for this cheap food. They used same gravy for veg and non veg dishes. Very greasy food. Not worth of 1 star.

Came here with my bf’s for his colleague’s party. I was very excited to try their lunch buffet. There is a decent selection of items to get. However, the taste of the overall food was pretty average tasting. I also recommend avoiding the dosa station as the food wasn’t so good, even my bf’s Indian colleagues did not like it. There’s live music going on which would entertain the kids. The buffet is definitely cheap for sure, but there are better Indian buffet food elsewhere.

I went on a Friday noon to buy 4 chicken Biriyani for a friend(s) who were working nearby and could not go out to get their lunch. The guy who usually seats people when they arrive came out and asked about my need. He demanded $ 74.00(Gulp) for the above Biriyani. I was just flabbergasted to hear the price. So I repeated that all I needed was 4 chicken biriyani and nothing else to go. He said that is what would be the cost. Either he fell off the proverbial turnip truck last night or must be high on something.(Note: the entire buffet with sit down service cots about $ 10.00 at this restaurant). I had no choice but to walk out of this place. I went to Global mall which is 1.5 miles east of this restaurant and picked up freshly cooked chicken Biriani, chapatis yogurt salad and a large cup of soupy masala to eat with the food at Dawat restaurant. They also gave me 4 different prices of cake at a reduced price(I have known them for a few months). This food was far more delicious and costed just $ 27.50 with all the trimmings and dessert to boot. The attitude of an employee can make or break a restaurant easily. I discussed my experience with several of my friends who visit this place often. Hopefully the owner lady will read this and take notice of what is going on behind her back and do something about this. One of my friend who had a party on Saturday decided to call Dawat and ordered dinner for 40 people. They did not disappoint us at all.

I have eaten at this place for years and recently decided to use them as a caterer for a big fundraising event; at the last minute we decided to increase the order so we had two checks ready to give her. The food that night was good BUT they didn’t provide all the dishes agreed to, and when i called after the fundraiser to discuss the owner(Manju) refused to acknowledge that her restaurant missed an item and accused me of trying to stiff her(her staff member simply forgot to pick up the checks at the fundraiser). I could barely get a word in because she was yelling over me, so I didn’t even get a chance to ask if they would consider charging a little less for the mistake. I’ve actually held smaller events at her restaurant and taken staff and interns there regularly, so I am truly flabbergasted Manju would respond in this way, completely unprofessional and TERRIBLE customer service. I won’t say not to eat there but I will personally not step foot in her restaurant and recommend not to use them for catering. There are too many fantastic Indian restaurants in town that people can go to to bother with this one. Sad.

One word Deception. I came here on a Saturday afternoon at 2 pm and their buffet hours close at 3 pm. In the middle of eating, they started packing everything up. If they could have told me sooner, i would have went to a different Indian restaurant. It was disruptive, the food selection got even more limited, until there was nothing left for me at the buffet table. The rice was hard and it was sitting there for a long time. I told the staff about this, and put the hard rice in her hand. They gave me new rice, but unfortunately they packed that up too. There’s no goat curry, or fish curry. Not much variety to choose from.

Food always good. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. If you want your food spicy make sure they know you are serious or they will make relatively mild.

This place is off the chains! The food quality is phenomenal, and they have a station that will custom-prep some dishes upon request. The mango lassi drinks are amazing, as good as the best Indian places I’ve been to. One thing to look out for is that the veggie dishes are significantly spicier than the meat dishes, but considering this place caters to two different audiences, that comes at no surprise. That said, if you can handle spice, eat all the things! You won’t regret it.

Yes, it hit the spot! Great buffet for $ 10. Highlights: Food was delicious and cooked well, Location was easy to find with ample parking, Reasonably priced. Can improve: The décor and seating area needs a major upgrade… squeaky tables always ruin a good dinning experience. Staff was neither friendly nor rude, very meh. Benchmark: Best Indian food in my book would be in India and London. There is a vacuum for a great Indian restaurant in Atlanta. Dined in July 2015 and might drop in again if in the area.

The selections were the about the same both times we went which is kinda boring. We made sure we didn’t go on the same day of the week. They did have mostly vegetarian options and there were a lot of Indian people eating there which is typically a good sign. The naan is a bit greasy but still decent. The food is spiced enough but not the best Indian I have had. They had two rice choices both times which I do appreciate. The service is good. They are very fast with removing plates and topping off drinks. They are also friendly. We will return whenever we are in the area and feel like indian.

Not in this area all the time but they have a really great buffet. Can be spicy at times and sometimes more veggies are needed. Saturday and Sunday buffets are the best. Please don’t put cream in everything, otherwise I am a happy camper.

I am shocked this restaurant is still in existence! Food taste is minimal at best… more often horrible… service is pretty bad & worse is seeing roaches crawling around. How is this restaurant getting past the health inspection? Not going back again.

This is our go to Buffet place. We go to this place for buffets only. The main buffet entrée menu doesn’t change that much but they keep on rotating the appetizers menu. Last time we went they have Aloo Puri. This was one of the best Aloo Puri I had in United States. I get to customize my version Dahi Paani Puri. My friends like that and they ask me prepare whenever we get a chance to visit this place. Overall it’s a decent place to go. The owner also owns another place in midtown which is better then this one as per my view.

The place was very trashy. The food is bad too. The nan was lumpy and rubbery. My uthappam was raw. The chicken masala was salt bombed. And the service was rude. When I asked for the check a second time, he asked me what the rush was. And I just noticed on Unilocal that the majority of bad reviews are from Indians! An Indian restaurant that is not well reviewed by Indians doesn’t sound good to me.

I’m very sad to be updating my review so quickly, but after having such delicious takeout from here I was eager to order more. Sadly our second order was an enormous disappointment. Our first order was on a Sunday night(the good food) and our second was on a Friday night(the BAD food). I absolutely can’t stand dark meat chicken and there’s no way I would have ordered again if I’d known my second order would be dark meat instead of the white meat I got with the good Sunday meal. The only reason I think the days matter in this case is I’d bet the house that they served us food that was left over from Friday’s lunch buffet the second time. It was so bad that I was actually mad at the food and threw away most of it. Not only was there a ridiculous amount of cartilage that I bit into and had to spit out(thankfully I was at home so I didn’t have to hide my disgust — gag!), but there was also a lot of way overcooked pieces of dark meat chicken with connective tissue still attached. It was so disgusting. While trying to pick out a few pieces of edible scraps in my chicken tikka masala I actually wondered for a moment if it was really chicken I was eating. That’s how messed up this food was! Sadly, I think this last visit ruined The Palace for me. I will wait until my kitchen renovation is done to make my own Indian food before I will even consider going back to The Palace. I wish there were another place close-by that we could use to satisfy my Indian cravings, but The Palace is not it.

Amazing fresh food! The best indian we had in atlanta. The staff are very nice and explained all the different dishes they had on the buffet, the samosas are so fresh and yummy as well as the fresh pineapple juice they have flowing!!! A huge vegetarian section– was a plus for me! It’s a bit hidden but so happy we found it! The reviews that are negative are so not true. Fabulous find!!! You won’t be disappointed!

I’m serious when I say that The Palace is my fave Indian restaurant E-V-E-R. I went again over the weekend with a friend who has never had Indian food. It was a great experience. She kept raving how good the food was. She tried EVERYTHING on the buffet. Of course, she didn’t like everything but she knew what she liked so she says she will definitely go back again. Let me re-emphasize how much I love this place. — Fresh naan brought by waiter, I dislike the naan on the buffet cause it’s not fresh, most are hard — Water always being refilled, never once have I asked for them to refill, my pet peeve at Asian restaurants — Fresh masala dosa, this is my fave Desi dish!!! I just tell the lady that I want masala dosa, once she’s done, she brings it to me — Fresh Indo China dishes, so you want Chinese dishes made Indian style? You got it here, fresh. — Pineapple juice in a pretty fountain, no need to order a drink, you get this drink at the buffet — Samosas, seriously, I cannot believe so many Indian restaurants don’t even have this dish on buffet I love The Palace. What other Indian restaurant would have North & South Indian cuisine like this? None other. If you find it, please let me know cause I have yet to find one. 2014 — if you want to read more detail review with pics go here
