The owner is very friendly, knowledgeable and they even help you load the futon into your car (if all you need is the mattress, it fits in the back of the average car). They have cheap futons and expensive futons, know what your budget is when you walk in. You could spend between $ 200 – 400 on a mattress here.
I already have a futon, I just needed a new mattress. I like that he had options. I wanted something to sit on each night and let my guests sleep on it from time to time. So, I opted for the mattress that had cushion and coils for $ 300 that will last about 7 years.

We were looking for a reasonably priced futon for our son’s dorm room. The owner knew the size of dorm beds (twin XL) and pointed us the the three options that would work. Frame, mattress and cover were selected and purchased in less than 15 minutes. They helped us load everything into our SUV and we were on our way. Exceeded our expectations!

I own a high end vacation property, Bear Ridge Lodge and the comfort of the beds is critical. I purchase all of our beds from The Great Futon and without a doubt, their products are the best and the prices are fantastic. The only think better than the beds is the service. I had a bad experience here. They sold me a futon that was worthless within a month or two and took no responsibility for getting me a replacement.
«All sales are final» they only inform you at the register. I felt taken advantage of– I felt stolen from.

If you’re in the market for a futon, this is –the– futon guy! Initially looking at Target, Walmart, and Ikea, I found a lot of mediocre reviews on products – specifically speaking to mattress comfort. The Great Futon Port has a huge selection of futon frames and several mattresses to choose from. I spent a good afternoon laying around on the different types – the owner wasn’t pushy at all and very knowledgeable on what might work best with what you’re looking for.
I ended up making my purchase (spent about $ 450 which appears to be average for a quality sleeper sofa), and unfortunately found a cracked rail when I was assembling at home. The owner was very courteous about the matter, and I had the rail repaired that week – took the piece in and waited about 10−15mins to have the rail changed out.
Very happy with my purchase and the futon is very comfortable to sleep on!

The owner of this store wasn’t straight with me. He sold me a low quality futon that fell apart within months, and he took no responsibility for it.
They have no return policy. Once you pay for it it is fully yours and they are done with you.
Be warned.

Went on a hunting spree looking for a decent futon mattress to replace an old and worn one and wound up here by sheer accident. Turns out we hit the luck of the draw since this place has every style, comfort level, and size futon you would ever want. Prices are very reasonable compared to online retailers, and they’re more than glad to order anything for you at no additional cost if they don’t have it in stock.

Do NOT trust. Only at the cash register will they reveal their «All sales final, no refunds or exchanges, all merchandise sold as is,» policy on the receipt. They don’t warn you in advance, when you are making your purchasing decision. I was unfortunate that I didn’t trust my gut to run at that point, and ended up with a $ 178 piece of junk that will soon be in the garbage.
The futon sagged after two months and by the fourth month produced so much back pain as to make it totally worthless. I called to see if they could make an exception to the return policy and it was a firm NO. He lied to me that he could not take the mattress back on return based upon laws, and that he couldn’t resell it. I did not expect a refund, I was just hoping he’d refund me part of the futon cost– the profits he made. I wanted a fair ending, something that made neither of sit in a losing position, but I did not get it.
He told me that he is just selling someone’s product so he can’t take responsibility for it. He says if it is a warranty issue then the manufacturer will replace it with the same product– which would then give me another month or two of painless sleep before the sagging began and it was once again rendered unusable.
I just went to Ikea and bought an all natural latex mattress. Yes, it was more expensive than the futon, but it will last for years rather than months and is infinitely more comfortable.
I advise everyone to avoid doing business with this operation. Futons are available from many «reputable» retailers with normal/​generous return policy including Target and Walmart. Check their online sites to see your options, and rest assure knowing that if the product is inferior quality that you can return it for a full refund without any hassle. When a retailer has no feedback from the returns of the dissatisfied how will he ever know which products that he is selling are not meeting customer satisfaction? This one obvious doesn’t care, which is his choice, as it is my choice to post this, and your choice to avoid doing business with him.

I made three trips to this establishment. The first to see their selection, the second to make a purchase, and the third for some parts. Each time the owner was very friendly and helped us avoid buying the wrong size frame. The selection was good and the choices in futon covers that can be ordered is huge. We bought a frame and the matching storage drawers that roll underneath. We grabbed a cover but we already have a mattress being shipped, but it looked like he had a good selection of those also. When assembling the frame two of the barrel nuts were defective. The owner gladly replaced them for free and gave me some spares in case any of the existing ones developed issues. The futons come with warranties, but the owner said to come see him first if there are ever any problems.

Prices range from reasonable to expensive based on the type of futon finish, size and mattress. Simply put for a good quality long lasting futon you’ll spend between $ 200 and $ 700.
