Just Nails

The owner is very nice. My sister and I went in last afternoon, my sister needed an acrylic nail filling and new gel nail and I needed a gel manicure with eye brow waxing. She was the only one working and she had just finished another customer that was really happy with her services. She did everything so speedy but NEAT! I would prefer my eyebrows a bit thicker than she left them but that was all a miscommunication. Besides my eyebrows grow quick. Mexican perk. I highly recommend this place.

On Thursday, July 2^nd, I decided to visit Just Nails for a 2^nd time. I had gone a little shy of 2 weeks earlier and received a pretty good experience with Angela. How I wish I had asked for her this time! With Angela, I’d gotten a pedicure and a gelish polish change. On July 2^nd, I got a pedicure and a gelish manicure. I believe that this young lady that did my nails on this visit is Angela’s sister (the manager’s/owner’s daughter). However, I did not get her name. My pedicure was okay… nothing spectacular.
When she did the gelish manicure, she didn’t wipe my nails off before applying the gelish. So on one of my pointer fingers, I ended up with a piece of «grit» under the polish. (SMH) How as a tech, you don’t see that and take care of it? The thumbs are perhaps the worse. The polish was not neatly applied. My 11 year old daughter could probably do better. The color I initially chose was out, so she had suggested a similar color and I agreed. Over the weekend, they have managed to get a darker pink tint throughout most of the nails. (Again, SMH). Today, as I was looking at them and telling a coworker about my experience, showing her the flaws of my nails, I ended up being furious about it and decided I would go over during lunch today, show the manager and ask if I could get it redone (different color of course) tomorrow… I wish I had said something the same day but I’d been there 1.5 hours already and really needed to get back to Lawrenceville ASAP.
So, I go by at lunch, talk to owner/​manager (lady that sits at the very front — to the right). I tell her I want to show her my gelish nails and wanted to come back in tomorrow during lunch. I pointed out the discoloration and the unevenness of my application, showing how the sides of my thumbs’ nails had been completely missed… She chocks it down to using a light color and saying things such as washing my hair and/​or using cleaning solutions will change the color. She goes on to say how light gelish colors are very hard to apply. HUH!!! Come again! Are you kidding me???
I tend to go with lighter/​neutral colors 95% of the time because it’s not as noticeable when it grows out (which I told her I use lighter colors mainly and never had this issue). Needless to say, she was going on & on about how lighter gel colors are an issue. She NEVER acknowledged my initial request to come back to get it redone tomorrow but had the nerve to say something about my cuticles growing out! I was like no; this is how I left on Thursday! The tech didn’t properly paint my nails is the bottom line.
Everything I said, she had a lame defense for. It’s all good though. They will not get a penny more of my money. I am also kicking myself for tipping 20% on Thursday, knowing good and well that was not a top notch service. Funny thing is in all my time of getting light colored gelish, I’ve never had this (poor application and color change). Heck, even Regal Nails inside of Walmart on Sugarloaf does better than this! I will be trying Upscale Nails next though… They have excellent reviews. I know of 2 people that have had excellent experiences there as well. They are pricier but as the saying goes «you get what you pay for». Just Nails isn’t THAT cheap but dang! Apparently the owner doesn’t care about repeat customers.
I loved the fact that they were close to my job too but OH WELL! Better luck elsewhere. May as well gotten a regular manicure. Oh, I didn’t even get a massage with this manicure either. Maybe they don’t do massages with the gelish manicure??? It’s not like they were busy. Maybe the tech didn’t feel like it or didn’t know that a massage comes with it… In any case, I will not return!
Additional side note: if there is such an issue with neutral/​light colored gel polishes and you are aware, why do you even offer it to your clients as an option?! Rhetorical question.

When I used to work in Norcross, I frequented Just Nails regularly. Now that I work in midtown, I still come back!
Ann (the owner) is an absolute doll. She recognizes and knows all her guests and will make it a point to introduce herself to you on your first visit. I’ve seen many women, including myself, come to Ann for their eyebrows. She is quick, precise, and attentive – and at $ 7, she’s also a bargain! She’s very efficient and balances her clients well.
I’ve also received a number of nail services here, and their attention to detail has always given me flawless results – and I am picky! They have been open for 13 years so they definitely know what they’re doing. Check them out!
