My 13 year old daughter WAS seeing Dr. McLaren with Lucas. She called me 22 hours before my daughter was to have her bottom braces put on saying that since I was unhappy with my treatment she will no longer see my daughter and have to find a new doctor. You see, the doctor had a baby back in December when my daughter was having trouble with a wire constantly poking and tearing up the side of her mouth. When calling the office to get her in for an emergency visit they told me NOONE was in the office and I would have to take her to another location. In calling this other location they could not get her in for TWODAYS! Really? She was irresponsible in not having another doctor take her patients while on maternity leave. In addition to this it was irresponsible, mean, vindictive(pick a word) of her to call me only the day before my daughter’s appt. to inform me she won’t see her as a patient any longer. She had been back in the office for 3 weeks since her leave. I would think long and hard before choosing Dr. McLaren to treat you or your child… if I could I would rate her performance with no stars, but it won’t let me.

I tossed around the idea of getting back into braces as my teeth have shifted since my eighth grade rendezvous with metal. I visited the team at the Nolensville location. They were fantastic, supportive, and worked through all of my options. The day of truth arrived and as I sat in the chair staring at the sweet teenager next to me I panicked! That’s right, I freaked out. Something about seeing her go through the rubber-band changing process made my repressed memories of years ago flood back. In that moment I decided that I’m going to own my one crooked tooth, no turning back. I was scared to death to tell the doctor. After all they were all so excited for me and I was at my braces ON appointment. Do you know what? They didn’t guilt me or pressure me one bit. They were supportive of my mind change and even made me a new retainer while I was there. I walked out of there with a new retainer, a mouth guard, and a new attitude about my 30ish year old smile. OHYEAH!
