If I could give even lower score I would. I was vacationing in Florida — I needed a little touch up on color and a little trim. I went to Escape — I asked to have ½″ cut off and I asked for a color. When I walked out and trust me my hair is a medium brown, my hair is now DARK DARK Brown! I was just about in tears in what they did to me. But then I went to pay and they charged me $ 147.00 for a color and trim. I would recommend that NO ONE goes there!

I relocated to Venice recently and stopped in on a Saturday at exactly 4:00 pm to buy some product. When I walked through the door the person at the front desk curtly informed me that they were closed and that I couldn’t buy anything. The place was completely empty. One when of the stylists tried to step in, the woman cut her off and told her it just wasn’t possible. She offered no help, no hours of when they would be open again, no apology. Nothing.
Fortunately I have been to Aveda salons before and I know that this isn’t the way their other salons do business. I called the Aveda salon out on Venice Island which also closes at 4:00 and asked them if I could possibly come by and grab some product. The woman who answered the phone was really nice and told me to come on by. When I stopped in the place was still really busy, even though it was 4:15. I was greeted by a friendly person at the desk who rung up my product and at my request found me a stylist to talk to about my hair, which I have since seen for a cut, plus a color with another stylist.
It is obvious to me why the one place was dead and the other was just humming with business. Had the person up front at Escape just taken the time to give me some customer service, even if she couldn’t ring up a sale, I would have gone back there for products and services. Hate to see businesses do this to themselves…

Very polite and inviting. I stopped in to get a quick trim before a wedding and they did a great job. Come to find out the bride is getting her hair done there too later today. If I lived here I would use them every time I needed a cut.

Although the staff is very friendly, the end result was very disappointing!!!
I went in for a shampoo and blow dry. I inquired about adding gloss for shine, but the stylist suggested instead a $ 15.00 Aveda conditioning treatment to mend the dryness in my hair. However, my hair ended up more dull, dry, and lifeless than when I went in! This was very upsetting because the next day I was heading to a special weekend event in Washington DC.
I had to wash and style my hair the next day — which, needless to say, was not what I’d hoped for!
I used the $ 20.00 Unilocal discount but wonder if that had any influence on the care or products I was given.
Also bought hairspray just to be polite because I was given the Unilocal discount

First time customer and Lindsay did a great job of matching the multiple highlight colors in my hair as well as gave me a great haircut. I enjoyed the complimentary hand massage and of course I love Avedq products!

Great colorist I mean really has several compliments. But mentioned Unilocal twice and did not get $ 20 off my first visit

I am new to Venice and this was my first visit to Escape and absolutely loved it! I felt very special with the treatment I received. Everyone was friendly! Darlene, gave me an excellent haircut and introduced me to products that will help me manage my curly hair or allow me to go straight. I was not expecting the head massage during my shampoo or the hand massage… I felt spoiled!!! I will definitely be returning and highly recommend Escape!
