It’s very clean & tidy, but not much there. It’s like half an Aldi in size…

Like Logan Village Mall, Old Picket Fence is very well-kept and most of the items are arranged nicely. This is also a «mall» type setting with more than one vendor under the roof. However, this space reminds me more of a traditional antiques shop… lots of old glassware, vintage linens, furniture and collectibles mostly. I thought there was really a 40s to 60s vibe throughout most of the mini-shops, maybe even a few 70s-era things… there must have been some 70s because I recognized things my parents had when I was little… yikes! I’m dating myself now. The front part of the store has a wonderful aroma to it and that’s probably what enticed us to enter. We are veritable soap addicts and sure enough, the smell that attracted us to Old Picket Fence was some handmade soap just inside the door. We ended up buying all of the Nag Champa on hand. I did also find two totally awesome long hand-knotted strands of vintage glass beads — one in a creamy white that resembles ivory(BUTISN’T, I would never buy such a thing even if I could!) and the other was a pale avocado green — that I cannot believe nobody else had snatched up! In fact, both of these babies were so perfect«as is» that I’m not even going to tear them apart and re-work them! Bottom line: «flashback» moments abound at Picket Fence for baby boomers and older. For the rest of you, score points with mom or granny and take them browsing for knick-knacks here… they have lots of cool ones :-)
