Elbert Construction

We hired Elbert for a very simple siding issue (a small part of the roof had to be changed because of leaking) and even though such a small job that took about an hour costs $ 1000 with Elbert, we were happy to pay for a big company (assuming they were professional). However, the contractor came to our house on the assigned day and said he started working between the backyard and the second floor where he used the room’s window to get to the roof. He opened the window and took off the sieve (without letting us know) then he finished his work and LEFT!). The next day when my husband was in the backyard he saw our two years old’s half body hanging from the room’s window that as far as we know has a sieve and is always closed! Yes, we literally ran to catch him before he falls off from a 2 –floors height! And discovered what? The window sieve was dumbed on the backyard grass! Elbert’s contractor did not even have the decency to put the sieve back to its place! And we would’ve never known that he even took it off since it’s very light and you can barely tell its there when the window is closed.
I called Elbert’s office that day and i told the story to a lady who answered the phone, I was very frustrated and crying since we were losing our son because of their reckless worker and their mere irresponsibility. The lady promised that they will investigate into the situation and i gave her all the information necessary. Two days later I got a voicemail from someone at Elbert’s office saying that she doesnt really understand what i was talking about. Seriously?
I did not and will not contact them again, the only reason i am writing this review now is to make sure that nobody will go through what happened with me and my family. Every Time I remember I was going to lose my baby, I tell myself I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. DO NOT HIRE ELBERT they are untrustworthy around your house

I used this company from out of town with all communication being done over the phone and email. I was told the reason for my leak was backed up snow (when it melted, water came in). 13 ft of single tab shingle caps on ridge vent was replaced (approx $ 11 in standard 3 tab shingles) and was guaranteed that they could find the color to match. They did not match the color, they shot a little extra caulking around pipes on the other side of the house to justify the massive «minimum charge» of the company of $ 500. Coincidentally, my bill was $ 502. I have yet to see the work, nor has it snowed yet to justify the cost, so I’ll keep you updated as to if they come back to fix it when/​if the snow melts in again.
