Bud & Walt’s Pizza & Pasta House

This is a way over priced place that serves cold food and it’s not very good. It is clean and the staff is friendly but pizza is not there thing. I would recommend going somewhere else

It’s good for Nixa. Family atmosphere, friendly staff and service, very clean and well managed. Great TV views from any angle.
Reminds me of a classic Mazzio’s Pizza but with TV’s.
The Food:
Kids: my kids are picky eaters. For them to finish a meal it can’t be complex, has to be simple, not acidic and the flavor combo’s have to be normal. They ate their entire mean and asked for more. If we were looking for a location for kiddos, this would be it. Great place to bring your kids for an affordable meal. That’s what made it a strong 3 stars. The flavor were just, average.
Adults: it was average. My wife had the chicken parm sandwich, and I had the Italian beef. It’s not a real Italian beef, not even close. I even had the special with the spicy link. I was really disappointed, but the bread seemed fresh and it was good. Its more like a sliced beef with warm green peppers and onions. More like a philly steak than an Italian beef. My wife really enjoyed her chicken parm. The disappointment in getting something I didn’t expect almost made it a 2 star. But, the kids loved there’s, hence the 3.
The kids got a cheese pizza and pasta with red sauce. They ate it all. Pizza is thin crust, nothing to earth shattering. We ate all the food with the exception of my sandwich.
It was Sunday, slow. They had an entire section reserved the whole time we were there. We were there for about an hour, from 1pm — 2pm. And no one sat in that seating area. My family of 5 had to sit at a booth that sat 4. No one really asked or attempted to accommodate.
Overall I would only go back for the kids if I lived in Nixa. Hope this helps keep your expectations simple.

The staff is friendly and fast, the restaurant and bathrooms are clean and orderly. It’s really good pizza, the pasta is okay at best.

The pizza is fantastic, the atmosphere is fun, and the place was nice and clean. Much better than the chain restaurants!

Nice place. Clean atmosphere and friendly staff. I did not have the appetite to try to knock down a whole pizza so I opted for a simple pasta with half and half marinara and Alfredo with spicy Italian sausage on top. The regular size is a nice healthy portion. Sauces were flavorful. I’m sure they probably aren’t made in house but I didn’t really expect that for the price I was paying. Garlic bread (which I added cheese to) was hot and fresh and tasted great. All in all, I would come back to this place should I find myself in Nixa again. Only missing the one star because it’s just not one of those mind blowing experiences that deserve the full set of stars. I’ll have to get some pizza next time. Definitely worth a stop.

I was skeptical at first. Their sauce is a bit sweeter than I’m usually desiring, BUT they won me over. On my first visit I had a good spinach salad that had pine nuts. This was so unexpected that I decided to give it another shot. After a few times I came to enjoy the new pizza experience. I do think I am required to admit that I am a pizza-​holic, as this may cloud my judgement a bit…
Side reviews: yay they got alcohol! Their ingredients are fresh. It isn’t a great place to have a good family conversation, unless you want a semi-​date night and don’t have a babysitter. The tvs and mini sound systems demand the attention of children and most adults. The pasta is pretty decent as well.

I wasn’t terribly impressed with the sauce on the pizza. And the menu says the ranch is «homemade buttermilk», but it tastes like kraft to me. However, I enjoyed the atmosphere, as did my daughter. I’ll come back, but probably won’t get pizza.

Our family loves Bud and Walt’s! My husband loves the pizza, my daughter loves the pasta and the fact that they have lots of TV’s around the restaurant and one of them is usually on some sort of cartoon, and I love the variety! We have a friend who is gluten-​free, and they also have a pizza that is gluten-​free as well, which is awesome.
Their food is great, their prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is very family-​friendly. The food usually comes out pretty timely as well.
I have just two complaints — one is relatively minor, and the other one is fairly major, but only happened once, and since we love this place, we’re willing to let it slide. First the minor one: they have soups on their menu, but they don’t carry them all year ’round — even though they stay on the menu all year ’round. This was frustrating, as I came in on a relatively cold day in April, but they didn’t have any soups, despite the colder weather outside and the fact that they’re on their menu.
The other thing is that one time, there was mold in the bottom of one of their Parmesan cheese containers. However, we brought it to their attention, and they apologized and gave us a new one very quickly.
But despite these concerns, this restaurant is awesome, and we love coming here and will continue coming to Bud and Walt’s.

Bud & Walts is my absolute favorite pizza place. I go to university in Boston and find myself missing their pizza all the time. I even worked at Bud & Walts when I went to high school here and never got sick of the food. It’s a great place for all ages, always clean, staff is friendly, and of course the pizza is to die for. The sauce has a kind of sweetness to it which makes it different. Don’t knock it before you try it!

My wife’s grandparents live in Springfield, and Bud & Walt’s is a place we all insist on visiting when we are in town. The pizza is absolutely delicious! I think this is due primarily to the red sauce, which has that tangy sweetness that you can’t help but love.
Bud & Walt’s is perhaps my favorite pizza place on the planet!

Loved the Tomato Bisque soup and salad! Hubby had the meatball sandwich which he very happy with, said it had great flavor. We will definitely return…

Stopped by because it was next to our hotel. Inside it is pretty nice. I don’t know how old it is but it looks sort of new. You order from a counter and they bring you the food. We ordered a pizza. It was ok. With three people in our group each grading it, everyone thought it was average. They have a variety of pizzas to choose from — in fact, the menu has a lot to choose from so some things may be better than others. Probably worth trying.
They have sound boxes on tables that allows you to turn into whatever TV you want. That’s cool.
Staff was friendly.
Food didn’t take long.

Loved the Mediterranean pizza! Very thin crust pizza and I usually prefer thicker but this was delicious!

We absolutely think their pizza is the best around. We enjoy the thin crust style and the sauce is the thing that makes them truly special. They have TVs and listening devices for individual tables allowing one to go in large groups with mixed adults and kids.

Great independent pizza shop. We like it! It’s franchisable!
