This was pretty fun for the price we paid! I wish there had been more characters to jump out at you, but all in all it was pretty fun. I didn’t enjoy getting lost in the fog rooms. Some areas without a tour guide, were almost impossible to get through. I suggest going here, the price is decent and you’ll have some laughs.

I have been to several haunted houses over the years and most have been awful. This one was hard to find(don’t rely on the iPhone gps) but when we got there finally it was totally worth it! Best haunted house I have been to in years! Went on a Saturday night around 9:30 and though there were a lot of people around you almost never see anyone else in the house. If you get to a certain point and someone is behind you they send you a different direction which is awesome(nothing worse than some moron ruining the scare for you). Took about 20 mins to get through the haunted house and I thought that was worth it alone for the $ 15 we paid(had buy one get one free coupons). I didn’t realize there were more houses to go through! The Field of Screams may have been my favorite cause it really was a maze and it took awhile to get through. The hayride was ok except you are stuck with a bunch of people(who ruined it for me)…sit in the center! The park is overall creepy with trees and moonlight as a backdrop. Super dark and you cannot use a flashlight. There are snacks and movies being played the entire time you are there. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good haunted house but give yourself at least 2 hours to get through it all.

This place gets bigger and bigger every year. It’s a great haunted house(s) for the price. There is an online coupon for $ 7 off the combo package, which brought down the price to $ 20. This was the first year my kids(9 and 10) completed all 5 houses and they loved it! I believe it was rated one of the top haunted houses in and around Chicago. What makes it even better, is that it is non for profit… all of the proceeds go back to various charities.

Homophobic workers! I went in 2011, it wasn’t scary by any means, but it was sort of corny fun. It’s being advertised that the attractions have all been re-done for 2012. After walking through one of the attractions you can certainly tell its been re-done… They covered all the props with white sheets. The hay ride was beyond boring this year. When we went through the indoor– outdoor«field of screams» we accidently went into employee areas three times. We saved the«haunted house» for last, and the most horrifying thing of the evening happened… The workers were making homophobic comments :( Really sad that in this day and age this exsists.

**The reviewer below must be an employee — nobody wants to feel warm and cozy and«welcome» at a haunted house; that’s not what they pay for. We want to be SCARED! Take the time to read the filtered reviews below, as they are spot-on. I have been here three times. I was completely disappointed. Let me say this: very creative when you first walk in, and it gears you up for something spooky, especially the music. Then… downhill from there. It was so well-lit, barely dark, costumes were completely lazy(just a little stenciling on the face and black clothes, that’s it), and there was hardly any scare! Like someone else said, just a bunch of WalMart decorations. At one point there was a guy walking around with a chainsaw, acting as if he was going to chop you up – only problem was, you could see perfectly well there was no saw at the end of that machine! The entire experience was a let down. You’ll be disappointed, TRUSTME. The group I was with walked out like, «What the hell was this?» Not scary at all. Their website is scarier than the attraction.

The best haunted house I have ever been to… a great value! The haunted house is HUGE and there are so many ways to go through it… you should probably go through more than once. Also the Field of Screams was the most epic, terrifying maze I have ever done, and it took a good half hour to find my way out. I can’t stress it enough –terrifying scares and so much fun!!!

this is the first time i’ve been to the Niles Scream Park. it was fun, but not what i call overly stimulating. There are five attractions here, the Haunted House was pretty cool. the Zombie Motel & Pirate Cove were pretty pitiful. The hayride was a lot of fun and our wagon had a very good narrator who was willing to have fun with the crowd. Finally the field of screams maze; this was interesting, not too many startles, but fun to find your way out. Not sure if i’ll return, but i wouldn’t recommend a long drive to get here.

Okay– I know that this is August, but I am already gearing up for Halloween. One of the best Halloween attractions NEAR the city of Chicago is actually located in Niles, Michigan, a mere 1 ½ hours away from the Windy City. For a short car ride and $ 22 admission fee you get five attractions, one of which is a «Field of Screams» complete with chainsaw wielding maniacs. There is also an Axe Murder Mansion, a Haunted Hayride, and a traditional haunted house. Each year this place gets better and better, and believe me, it is worth the admission and the car ride if you really want a good scare. Allow yourself at least 3 hours to experience all the terror at the park, not counting your car ride, as it will be well worth it. Also, there are things for the kiddies to experience as well, such as a magic show(as some of the attractions may be too gruesome for young children). Go to for more details and directions. I have loved it since I was a kid. BTW: This attraction raises money for local charities, so while you are getting your butt scared off, you are also helping local children’s charities as well.
