i live near and yes i love to walk and go though it all the time. it a wonder that nature does not take back what belongs to it. the woods i though people should know are protected part of Chicago and to have parties and events is great but you do need a city permit to do so and must get it weeks in advance. i like it when it rains most of all then no one except the animals are there and the woods are what make it so great.

It’s hard to give anything that is nature and filled with trees, plump squirrels, deer, and trails less than 5 stars. Miami Woods is a park in Morton Grove along the side of Waukegan Road. Once you turn in, the road continues on for awhile and has LOTS of parking. It’s open daily dusk to dawn, regardless of the weather. This is a great place to go to while on break from work, or just an afternoon with friends/family. The only issue I have is that they should have more picnic benches available, considering how large the area is. These areas are used for big picnics and festivals with vendors, which may explain the lack of smaller picnic tables. I’ve been coming here a few times now, and though it’s barely Spring, it’s an unbelievably relaxing and peaceful way of taking a break from the daily routine. There are always a bunch of cars parked far away from each other, where people are eating lunches, or just enjoying some music. There are LOTS of squirrels, so one must be careful not to run any over! As the weather gets warmer, I will be coming here more often. It’s great to see the grass and trees turn greener and it’s hell of a lot better than sitting at work!
