I was driving by the northwest suburbs when I came across this gem. I was looking for a place to have a bite to eat and drink. I sat at a table near a nice fireplace in the patio which had TVs so I was able to catch the Blackhawks game. Shortly after my arrival my server Keven greeted us and told us about the happy hour specials he suggested calamari and the chicken bites which were both great, he also mentioned the bong, which is a long bong looking glass filled with beer, it was super affordable. Overall the prices were accessible, service was on point, and the décor made us feel right at home. I will be coming back soon with my friends to watch my beloved Blackhawks.

I must have passed this place many times and never noticed it. Today a coworker and I were driving in the area looking for lunch places and he suggested this place. Located pretty much across the street from the Tilted Kilt restaurant, this bar has its own group of servers to enjoy. They are friendly and attentive and the food is a cut above what you’d typically find in a restaurant chain. The place is big(but it has a cozy feel) and can easily accommodate you and 2 dozen of your closest friends. There are booths, tables and bar stools, whatever you prefer. TVs are everywhere so it’s a great place to watch the game away from home. And on nice days, they have outside seating with a fireplace and even more TVs.(If you decide to bring your family here, and you’re a little on the conservative side, be aware that it has some ‘man cave’ motif. Mainly in and around the bathrooms.)

I truly enjoy the food and their kick ass drinks! Service can be better but they do get packed so I understand. A cool place to chill out and have an awesome time with friends.

This place changed its menu. Serves frozen burgers so it don’t matter if its medium rare or well done. The servers don’t know whats going on either, they cant even get drink prices right on a slow Friday night! Unless you’re a suburban regular who likes paying $ 30 for a half bong of beer go somewhere else! What a waste of my Friday night! I don’t get out often so to come to a place and get below average service on a Friday night when I want to spend my money!?? What a disappointment. Never again. And I never suggest them to anyone else!

I know this is a chain but I don’t know if the interior design aesthetic is standard or not but I love the design of this location! So cozy with the fireplace and couches. I love that you can easily eat dinner at the couches and watch the game with TV viewing accessible from every seat. My husband thought that maybe the upholstery might be hiding some not so appealing secrets but I choose not to think about that. Downside, if you are a vegetarian the menu is very sparse. In effort to eat less meat I wasn’t left with many options. I ended up with the mahi fish sandwich. It was only okay. The bun though tasting fine seem off for the promised brioche bun, a bit flat. The fish was kind of dry and over cooked. If you want to eat some meat that seems to be their forte. Two members of our party ordered the drunken chops. Both raved about them. Added bonus, the portion is huge. Dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow! Also a hit about the chop dish were the cheddar cheese mashed potatoes. There was a really nice vegetarian appetizer, the Moroccan Stacked Dip that we ordered and was outstanding! We loved the grilled Naan that it came with and the dip itself was a really nice blend of flavors!

We came here after having to make an unexpected trip to the ‘burbs to investigate a car battery issue we were starving after waiting around Walmart for over an hour. This place was close so we went in… The restaurant look super inviting with a huge fire burning and cozy seating. The service was super friendly and attentive. The Waiter gave us his advice on the best things on the menu and he was right about all of them. The food was absolutely delicious. We recommend the duck wings, thai chicken salad, and fried chicken sandwhich. The Chicken Sandwhich is not for the faint of heart it was HUGE!!! Definitely get the tater tots! Decent Beer and Cocktail Selection as well. Try the Hand Pulled English Brew, I would have ordered it but do not like hoppy beers.

I love this place! Everybody is so nice. I had a phillycheesesteak there and it was the best phillycheesesteak I’ve ever had. I will definitely be coming back here and telling everybody I know about it. Keep up the good work!

Came here with a small group of guys to celebrate a birthday on a Friday night. We ordered multiple appetizers for the table and a few ½ beer bongs. The duck wings were a big hit at the table, as were the deviled eggs. I also ordered the pretzels which came with 3 different dips. The spicy ranch and the queso were both very good, however, I’m 99% sure the mustard that comes with it is just french’s mustard that the squirt into a jar. For entrees there was a wide arrange of what everyone ordered at the table. I ordered the fish & chips. They were a little salty but seemed to be good cuts of fish. I had an overall good experience here and would recommend it.

I came for early dinner(4:30pm) and I did not know what to expect since there weren’t many people dining in. First off, I was blown away by how cozy the inside was. They had a real live fire pit going, couches for seating, high stool bar, and regular dining tables. A group of 8 of us ordered duck wings and the cheese tray as appetizers. The cheese tray came various cheeses, a cup of pitted olives(yummy), bread, and thinly sliced salami. The cheese and olives were a hit. Since I don’t regularly eat red meat, I thought the salami was comparable to buying salami at Tony’s Finer Foods. I’d definitely try the calamari and the other wings listed as appetizers before reordering the cheese tray and duck wings. For dinner I ordered the lamb burger and this was a tough decision beacuse they are so many good choices on the menu! My initial inclination was to order the Thursday night special — Taco Burger. My lamb burger was cooked medium and it was delicious. The goat cheese really just melts in your mouth. I will definitely be coming back and order the same thing. This is a great place for a first date. They have happy hour between 4−6pm. Also, ideal place for catching up with friends over brunch; they offer $ 2 brunch mimosas on weekends.(WHAT?)

Eh, could be better. The food wasn’t all the great, but I liked the dim lighting. I doubt I will return.

I would say this place needs a new staff overall to make a significant effort for the better. Almost always the girls behind the bar have an attitude and look at the customers like they beneath them for some reason. Not friendly whatsoever… On a few different occasions ive heard the bartenders and servers talk about how bad they want to Smoke a bowl real quick.(smoke a pipe packed with marijuana) for some of you that don’t know… that they are hungover from last night… They need another shot/drink…You get the point… UNPROFESSIONAL. Do what you do on your own time, I’m fine with that, but when you sign up to specific job position .DOYOURJOB… One night I saw a taller black Male server come up to the bar station to pick up an order of drinks and one specifically being a Bloody Mary. He handled the olives with his bare hand contaminating the whole batch with his filthy hand and then pulls out money and asks the bartender for change, after handling that dirty money and who knows whatever else before that, pulls out a straw grabbing the top of it where the customers put their lips and stirs the drink for about 5 seconds. Couldn’t believe my eyes. After that I noticed a couple other servers doing the same thing. Thankfully I was drinking a bottled Beer.
Food is a hit or miss… But more of the concern is the ameuture Staff. ****Attention BrickHouse**** TIMEFOR A NEWSTAFF… Believe me ALOT of people I know AGREE and that could all be more $$$$ in your pocket in the future!

Nice venue to hang with friends or family, very kid friendly. They have games you can play or we bring our own. It’s nice to have a beer and watch the kids play scrabble! Their brunch menu is delicious and $ 2 mimosas! Favorite dish is their kobe burger!

Literally the worst meal I’ve paid for in about 15 years. I ordered the smoked salmon benedict, my visiting Dad had the fish and chips. Both were soggy, EXTREMELY peppery, and room temperature. The fish had either been fried yesterday, or the day before, and reheated several times. The poached eggs on my brunch were actually hard boiled, and the only edible part of my meal. The hollandaise sauce was tasteless except for a distinct black pepper flavor $ 14 for me to eat two hard boiled eggs and $ 12 for my Dad to eat some cold tater tots. Our server was very nice, though it was hard to hear her over 20 competing tvs showing different sports games. Seriously. Gross.

I enjoy this place, the seating arrangements alone are very comforting, they have lounge chairs that feel like couches. The TV placement inside of of a number of booths give the place a homie feel. The pork chops with mashed potatoes turned into two and half meals for me(when i got home). The bartender made me a fan of Boston lagers on that particular afternoon. My girl and I had a gift card so we tried this place out, ended up being a place that if I was in the area on a Sunday afternoon I would love to catch the end of a football game there.

Why does this place only get three stars? Generally I am wary of Unilocal 3 star joints as they are pretty much always off point. However, this place was quite the opposite. Was it because I kept coming here for lunch and it was never busy? Anyway… this review will center around just that, lunch. I have been a few times now and consistently always enjoyed my meals here. Between the daily specials, the service and food in general, it kept me coming back every week for a few weeks. My favorite menu items were: –Goat Burger –Deviled Eggs –Lamb Burger All of those items were beyound excellent. And you can get your fries cajun style to! In addition to the awesome service, Danielle always took care of us at the bar. She kicked ass. Well done.

The atmosphere, service, and beer variety alone would get this place three or four stars in my book but there were too many negative points on the food aspect. I ordered the bison burger medium rare and added an egg because I like the extra dimension it brings to the burger. When the food came out, initial impressions were good as the burger looked very appetizing. However I realized this was not the case as soon as I bit into it. One, the egg was cooked to over hard. Why would anyone do this? In my book this completely defeats the purpose of having an egg on a burger. Two, the bacon was way below acceptable. This is hard to do because how do you mess up bacon you ask? The bacon was not crispy and had a jerky texture to it. Not sure if this was intentional but terrible nonetheless. Three, the burger itself wasn’t evenly cooked properly. One half of it was well done and the other was medium rare as ordered. The bun was standard along with the tater tots. Unfortunate but would return only for the drinks. If the burger isn’t good, I wouldn’t expect anything else to be above mediocrity. I was eyeing the availability of different adaptations of Moscow mules so probably would come back to give them a try.

Let me tell you, based on this one time dining at Brick House I would never go back. My group rented the whole outdoor patio for an after party and we received the worst service ever(at least our table did)! We literally waited 20+ minutes for a waitress to come take our drink orders and when that didn’t happen a few of us went inside to the bar. Upon reaching the bar, we were approached by the hostess who told us that they don’t want us placing our orders at the bar because they didn’t want us crowding the area and that we had waitresses specifically for our patio are. Well… where were they? The hostess said she’d take our drink orders since we were here but would have someone sent out. Once we got our drinks, I asked for water and some dinner menus and guess what… that took another lifetime. Good grief! We were all hungry and tired(we had just competed in a crossfit competition) and at this point I wanted to put my head down on the table. By the time we finally placed our orders I was ready to go home(but was too lazy to move). Now if the service wasn’t bad enough, the food definitely didn’t make up for it. I ordered the prosciutto wrapped meatloaf topped with fried onion strings over a bed of mashed potatoes. The dish sounds pretty hard to mess up but it was just so… mediocre. The meatloaf lacked flavor and literally didn’t taste like anything besides ground meat. Also, everyone at our table got their food at the same time except one friend and we had to ask the waitress if his food was coming. They messed up and had given his food to someone at a different table. You would think they would get something right by now but nope they didn’t. At the end, the friend who got his food last asked for a box to wrap his food up to go and guess what… no one remembered to get him a box. I don’t think we could have had a worse experience at a restaurant and I wasn’t even expecting much. All we wanted was a couple drinks and food since we were exhausted and we couldn’t even get that. I definitely won’t be returning to Brick House Tavern and wouldn’t recommend it to any of my friends.

I’ve had two recent experiences at Brick House — but only one at this location, so my thoughts on Downers Grove will not be included. «Just OK» pretty much sums up my experience. I ordered the Gun Show Burger, which comes with a fried egg and signature mustard sauce. Call me crazy or spoiled, but when a burger comes with an egg on it, it should be a runny, gooey, delicious yolk. What I got was more like a scrambled egg, which added no flavor to the burger. I don’t recall tasting any mustard sauce, so, that was pretty uninspired too. The fries were okay… the service was okay… I guess that’s about it…

I was out in the burbs and my friend and I were looking for a spot to take in the beautiful spring day outdoors. She ended up taking me here and I had a really good time. I like the set up. Indoor there’s a bar, tables, game area, and it’s surrounded by TVs. Outdoor you have a patio area with a few tvs and my favorite part a warm fire pit. We opted for the outdoors. We ordered the wild mushroom pizza, which wasn’t bad, but we were mainly there for drinks. My friend stuck with the Stella they had on special for $ 4. I went the cocktail route. The first one I had was the Zombie, which that one your limited to only 2. I don’t know if my alcohol tolerance has increased, but it did nothing for me(Barcardi Rum, Barcardi 151, Captain Morgan, pineapple, orange, and topped with Myers dark rum) I also had the Carolina Sweet Tea cocktail and I enjoyed that one a lot better. All in all this is a great place to kick it after work in the burbs.

I actually really like brick house. Every time we’ve been there we’ve been able to get a decent seat at the bar or one of the comfy reclining chairs. I absolutely love the chicken sandwich they have. My SO always orders either a cheeseburger or the grilled cheese with tomato soup. He likes that they put prosciutto on the grilled cheese. Nice little twist. The calamari needs a little work. I just don’t think its the best quality. For the apps, the cheese and meat plate or the pretzels are solid choices. The service has been good when we’ve gone. Overall decent choice in the neighborhood to stop in and watch a game.
