Sun Tan City

A couple months ago I signed up for the instant/​sunless membership. I had loyally tanned at STC for a few years, on and off. I would always recommend them. I always had the fast membership before, and I would upgrade pretty much every weekend. So it was more financially responsible to upgrade my membership. At first I got a kick out of only using the instant bed. It is a nice tanning bed. It has mostly the bronzing ray so you get tan quick, and it doesn’t leave your sides untanned. Also that membership benefited me because I wanted to be able to get sprayed twice a week so I didn’t have to use self-​tanner at home anymore. But then I realized that they had changed the spray solution they use… So what used to be a light-​colored tan is now the medium. I always get the medium clear tan and I never get as dark as I want or as dark as I used to. Several times my spray has come out uneven (dark on my hands and then streaks on my arm where it didn’t spray/​darker on my upper body than lower/​not spraying my feet at all) so it seems like the actual sunless bed is to fault, and it may just be old but I’ve complained to the manager and other employees and no one seems to think anything of it. It was so bad one time I called the corporate office and they gave me a month for free which I agreed was a good deal and gave me a few more chances to try it out. But I have tried several times since then, and like I said the color is never as dark as it should be. When it isn’t uneven (go to Beaumont to spray because their’s doesn’t spray unevenly) it looks natural and people compliment me on it. But it’s hard to tell them I go to STC when ½ the time my spray is unsatisfactory. Aside from all that… they charge way too much for the lotion. The staff is ⁹⁄₁₀ very friendly and helpful (except for some of the managers, I don’t know why, but that’s been my experience).

Beds and rooms are always clean. Staff is friendly and the check in is fast. I have not ever had to wait for a bed but that’s not to say you won’t, I probably come during off times to avoid that!
