This place is legit. Went for the first time today and had the pulled pork, smoked Mac & Cheese and potato salad. Made my own Arnold Palmer with their tasty lemonade and sweet tea. I arrived just after the lunch rush, and there were lots of regulars coming in. The interior was spotless, well lit and has a fresh feel. You’d never know it was at the end of a petrol station — but that even adds to the charm… something about a good BBQ place needs to be a hole-in-the-wall kind of joint. Anyway, the food was great. The pork was nice and juicy. I tried their original and bourbon sauces and went with a mix of the two on the pork — but didn’t need a lot. Prices are about on par with other BBQ places — you expect to pay a little more due to the time and skills invested. The platter I had was $ 10(+$ 1 for potato roll, which was good) including 2 sides. Drink is extra. As a side note, the hush puppies were the best I have ever had anywhere. I want to try the brisket next time. Will definitely be back.

Crazy good bbq. I’ve had the pulled pork previously and today the brisket! Both on their home made potato bun that truly sets this place apart from other bbq places! Their meats are top quality and fat trimmed perfectly so the bbq is not greasy. Excellent skills on the back end guys! Good job! As a veteran I appreciate the veteran discount! And honor your service too! Good luck to the young pilot ya have there! Aim Hi! People… Eat here! You won’t regret it!

Very good! The smoky Mac and cheese was very delicious. The brisket is really good but I don’t think you get enough for the price. Were they lack in quantity you get it in quality.

I came here for lunch per seeing their advertisement on Facebook. I had ordered the pit $ 10. I ordered the 3 various meats with all the sides that came with the dish. Everything was tasty, but my favorite was the apple salad. There are 3 various BBQ sauces that you can get to try meat with, along with a horseradish white creamy sauce, all of which were great. They’re homemade lemonade was tasty too! I asked if they ever had any left over bones that I can buy to give to my dog, and they willingly gave me one for my dog to try, as I had her with me. They were willing to arrange for me to be able to stop by weekly and pick up bones from them for my dog. Of course, if there’s too many, I’d happily offer some to the shelters if that’s allowed. Overall, this place is great and I’d highly recommend for everyone that enjoys BBQ to come check it out.

Maybe it’s just me but I had a hard time finding ha! But once I did I was not expecting it to be on the end of a gas station. The food was alright, I guess I was expecting a WOW from the hype but I must say we were not wow’d. It was good, it was BBQ. I had the smoked chicken, a bit too salty for me. The BBQ sauces were not my favorite. Potato salad was good typical. My husband had the pulled pork and he said it was like other pork he has had. He liked the baked beans and Mac n cheese was good but not as good as we were expecting. Overall it was alright but nothing we will probably feel the need to go back for. Hey but for Nicholasville it’s certainly is great to have a new restaurant I just received a message from Greg the Owner and he had this to say about my personal review: R U D E Greg L: Amanda, Thank you for visiting our humble BBQ restaurant. We understand how you may feel dining in a restaurant attached to «gas station.» It’s below your means and I get that. Some people have more means than others and certainly you must. Thank you for giving us a try and we wish you all the best finding the perfect BBQ experience. We believe BBQ is personal and our style doesn’t agree with yours. You’re always welcome to dine with us but based on your review, I doubt you could find yourself in our«gas station restaurant». Respectfully, Greg Owner

Showed up tonight at about 8 and ordered the platter. For $ 9, I got a large sandwich full of pork, a side of macaroni and cheese and baked beans, pickles and a drink. It was a lot of food and it was all delicious. The mac and cheese is amazing, and one of the reasons I went! This time, though, I think I actually like the baked beans even better. Even though they closed at 8, they never mentioned it and said it was no problem after we realized and asked if we should get our food to go. The food is incredible, the prices are super, and the staff is exceptionally nice. I look forward to going back many, many times!

I hate that I’ve given other restaurants five stars before because I feel like it cheapens this rating. Everything that I had there was the best that I had ever had. Best pulled pork, best baked beans, best slaw, best bread, best hush puppies, Best mustard potato salad. Don’t let the humble setting fool you. Even though it’s attached to a gas station it is still damn good eats.

Lyles BBQ Company is a Family-owned/Veteran-owned restaurant that doesn’t disappoint. If you’ve tried their food truck offerings, you simply have to visit their brick-and-mortar restaurant in Nicholasville. Why? Lyles BBQ Company offers ‘in-store specials’ only available to their Nicholasville restaurant customers. I tried Lyles BBQ Company’s Brisket Philly! 6″ Hoagie Roll Hickory Smoked Brisket Grilled Peppers and Onions Smoked Cheddar Cheese Alabama White Sauce!

Have been a fan of Chandler’s BBQ from first bite. Didn’t make the grand opening of the restaurant — American Pharoah took precedence. Finally made it out there today for lunch. The St Louis ribs were so delicious, and beyond tender fall-off-the-bone and into-my mouth. LOVED the Bourbon Sauce, smoky sweetness. First time I tried the smoked mac and cheese. I like that they use shells(as I do at home) as they cozy up to the cheese so well. Go out and cozy up to Lyles BBQ. Quality all the way.

Great little find while passing through the area. Simple menu is perfect — pick one thing and do it well. The Q is spicier than I am accustomed to, but that was OK. Had the brisket and added bourbon bbq sauce. Slaw and macaroni and cheese and biscuits — homemade and tasty. Too bad they don’t have beer but you can do takeout and add your own!

I’ve been looking forward to visiting this place for some time and, I must say, it didn’t disappoint. As many times as I’ve tried brisket, I’ve never actually enjoyed it. It always seems too dry. That has all changed now… I’ve just been trying it at the wrong places. Lyle’s brisket is juicy, tender, and smokey. The red smoke ring on the meat was literally almost a centimeter thick. That’s a sign of quality right there. While it didn’t need it, I alternated bites that were unsauced, dipped in Alabama White sauce(very unusual, a little tart) and the Bourbon BBQ sauce(very sweet and smokey!). I can’t wait to go back and try their pulled pork! The sides were a unique experience also. The smoky mac & cheese had a lot of pepper, but it blended with the smokiness to create a uniquely spicy flavor. I also appreciated the use of shells instead of macaroni noodles… It definitely holds in the cheese better! The baked beans also had a slight amount of heat in them and a unique blends of beans creating a spoonful with some bite! I definitely need to come back here. So good!

Thought it would be mind blowing. Got three strips of brisket for $ 8.49. The mac & cheese was good so was the sweet tea. But the portion size for the price was extremely disappointing. I follow them on Twitter, and was excited to take my girlfriend and her mom, but we left with me apologizing. The food was pretty good not great, and the portion sizes were terrible.

Way over priced. My wife and I both left hungry after getting the brisket platter. The brisket was good, but the portions are just too small. The mac and cheese was gritty and not creamy. Not a good experience. Wont be back. $ 24.99 for a rack of ribs. I don’t think so!

My husband and daughter and I came to try the store front out tonight. I know I have seen rave reviews about their food from friends and fellow Unilocalers so I was excited to try it. My husband and I both got the brisket platter with the smoked Mac n cheese. We ordered the pulled pork platter with a sandwich with fries for my daughter. I wasn’t impressed with what I ordered. I understand it takes time to smoke the brisket and its little more expensive than just pulled pork, but there was only three small slices of brisket. It was about 10.49 for a lemonade and the brisket and one side and two small hush puppies. I wasn’t a fan of the mac n cheese. It was kind of gritty which may be the case if cheddar cheese is used and it was to hot/spicy for my taste buds. Granted I may be wimp when it comes to spice but I can eat buffalo wings and this just had too much kick for my liking. The hush puppies were great flavor. I will say that my daughters pulled pork had a great flavor and her potato roll was great. The original BBQ sauce was really good. The pulled pork platter is a fair value. I should have gone with the pulled pork and it probably would have increased another star. I’m sure I will get criticized for talking about price. BBQ has been increasing on the food scene around town so there are actually other BBQ places to compare to and that I have tried. I definitely don’t mind paying the price. I would recommend a kids portion in the future as there were several young children in there when we were there or at least a child’s size drink. The place has great potential. I think I just ordered the wrong thing.

There are a number of really good local bbq places in Fayette and jessamine county, and after one visit I think Lyles has cracked my top 5 — I had the special of the day which was pulled pork with slaw and a pineapple slice. The pork was solid /not a strong smoky flavor(just a personal preference), but the quality sauce options more than made up for it. I had the cowboy beans for my side and they were nice and spicy with pork chunks. The hush puppies were a bit dry for my taste and I wish the pineapple slice had been grilled, but overall it was a great experience and I will be back. A lunch for two including teas was around 22 bucks.

We’ve been following Lyles BBQ on Facebook for over 6 months, but we were never in the area to try their mobile BBQ experience. Tonight we stopped by their new brick and mortar restaurant for dinner and the experience was well worth the wait. The brisket, the sides and the service were all outstanding. We’ll be back very soon!

Lyles, a Kentucky kind of place. Every bite tantalized my taste buds! The best smokey ribs and brisket, the tastiest mac-n-cheese and bourbon-laced desserts to make your mouth smile! The small space looks great with reclaimed barn wood and the tables inviting with cheery, yellow flowers. The smiles greeting you were genuine and you can feel the positive vibes of opening night from everyone. We ordered the Brisket and Rib platters with Mac-n-Cheese, Potato Salad, Cowboy Beans, Peach Cobbler and Banana Pudding. Bonus, the platters came with a couple pickle slices and hushpuppies! You simply can’t beat their smokey meats. I personally don’t need sauce on meat that tasty but we tried the sauces too: Alabama white sauce, Original, Spicy and Bourbon. I’d never tried White sauce and it tasted like a ranch-horseradish blend, not spicy. Save room for dessert! That was one of the best Peach Cobblers I’ve had. The whipped cream has bourbon in it and really gives it a unique twist. The Banana Pudding has Bourbon whipped into the cream too and its like no other I’ve tried. Support a locally owned business. Its a short drive into Jessamine Co. that is well worth it!
