Ok so my family and I were here for vacation at the worldmrk down the street. So while on the way there i saw this store so i thought oh its close ill give it a try. When i went i kinda felt like i was at home. it reminded me of safeway but the prices were a little better as in cheaper. Which i was a little on the fence about since its kinda smacked right in the middle of somewhere. But everything i needed i found and fyi the alcohol selection is pretty great. I wanna say i saw about two-three aisles full of alocohol. I guess people out that way know how to have a party! HEY! lol

Wow! I am really shocked that a supermarket chain would knowingly sell«chicken» that was supposed to be thrown away 18 days earlier! I purchased a package of chicken breasts on the evening of December 21st2013. The morning of the 22, I began to prepare the chicken when I read the label for expiration date which was 12÷25÷13. I noticed a second label underneath and peeled back the first to see the second. The hidden label revealed that the chicken was supposed to be discarded on 12÷4÷13, approximately 18 days prior to my purchasing it! I returned it to the North Shore Sentry right away. The Supervisor on duty gave me a full refund but did argue with me whether the chicken was safe to eat! «Unbelivable» The shocking thing is they knowingly did this and apparently is a normal practice for them. I really want to do business at this market but how can I shop there with peace of mind knowing that the food I buy is going to be safe.

Wow what a great alcohol selection, my god it has five rows of beer, wine, spirits, mixers, and other cocktails. That is not counting the three rows of juice, energy drinks, bottled waters, and soda. I have a problem with their producers milk products but just buy from the other brand, at least they have a choice. They have a huge selection of yogurt, butter, and plus three places to find cheese or sandwich meats in the prepackaged, deli or picnic snack areas, a pretty good vegie selection, and so so fruit choices. They also have an organic choice. Their gem is their cake maker, absolutely delicious speciality holiday styles and made to specification. I needed one for my son’s celebration of life and the thing was mouth watering plus tastefully done. There is not a meat or butcher counter but if you ring the bell, they come out and help you. Plus they will get you what you want if it is available in a different size. The meat seems to be good and a lot of times they have good specials or mark downs on steaks or pork ribs. I always check the seafood before buying to make sure it is okay, I am super picky about my fish products far away from the ocean. So far so good with the checking system. They are also super generous with nonprofits like food give aways and other organizations. The deli personal can be unorganized as for some reason there is a high turnover in that section. I recommend their fried chicken however, brought some to a party and it was gone in five minutes like paranas in a tank at feeding time. You can always get what you need for your animals and toiletries if you forgot something on your trip. It is an important staple in the communities of Upper Lake and Nice, even Lucerne. I have even seen people shopping there from Lakeport as it is not as hectic as the bigbox stores of Safeway or Wallymart. Oh and they make fresh bread and pastries everyday, too. Let Tracy know if there is a problem and she will fix it.

Drab and disheveled, Sentry has the tragic aura of a Tennessee Williams play, all of which provides exceptional people watching(but don’t get too close: the natives seem hostile and ready for a fight if they catch you staring for too long). In my brief visit, I witnessed two shirtless, barefoot teen-aged boys sitting on the floor eating sandwiches from the deli. Joni, the cashier, had a 10-minute conversation on the difficulties of quitting smoking with the two women ahead of me in line. Unless you’re looking to stock up on hootch, try Safeway.

Me and my husband were driving back from a trip to Fort Bragg and were hungry but didn’t want to waste time stopping somewhere to eat. We saw Sentry market and it had a deli so we stopped. They had a large selection but we focused on the deli. We ordered a salami sand & a turkey sand of which both were very good. The bread was really fresh and the sandwiches were not skimpy at all. For 4.99 a piece we left happy and back on the road we went! btw. we liked their ordering system. a check list on a sheet of paper of what you wanted on your sandwich. no mixups that way. We’d go back if ever we were in the area again.

I agree with Steven that this isn’t the largest store available but it works. The liqueur is abundant and the potato salad was very good. Its nice to not have to drive all the way to Lakeport for a Safeway when your in the UpperLake area.
