Zumiez

Yep. 4 stars for a chain. A skateboarding wear one no less. We were looking for nice men’s walking shoes. We had visited a bunch of places already. I was not hopeful walking in here. Especially given the volume and type of music playing.
But then the salesman came over. He knew his stuff. Really well. We ended up with a pair of Vans, but before we got there he asked exactly what my companion was looking for, then gave us a few options at various price points. Once that decision was made he told us about a current promotion the store was running, and then just backed off and let us browse the rest of the store. I’m not sure every Zumiez experience would be like this one, as the salesman was a key part of it, but I do have a new understanding of a store I’d only ever walked by before.
