Yep. Nothing fancy, the the food is fresh and the service is what you make of it(counter style at lunch anyway). Where else can you get a decent piece of broiled haddock with fries and slaw for $ 12?(Fried is a lot cheaper) This is an office goto place for fish. We always get an order of scallops too. Cheap and they always come out hot and fresh. There is a bar here but I have never seen it open at lunch.

New York Fish House reminds me of the«old world.» It’s not fancy or trendy, nor does it try to occupy that market. It’s just great food made for everyday neighborhood types of folks. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a foodie just as much as the next Unilocaler, but sometimes you want a place to kick back and know you’re getting something familiar. This places fills that void every time. My family loves the fish nuggets. These are nothing like those fish sticks reminiscent of cafeteria days. They’re made in house(always a good sign). Of course, you can’t go wrong with a fish fry here either. I mean, come on, it’s called the Fish House. This place is nothing fancy, so if you’re looking for ambience, you won’t find it here. Good prices, good service, the patio is a great place to kick back – recommended for a casual meal out!

I went last night for a chicken finger«dinner» 4 very small, very rubbery pieces of chinken — I think, fries, and slaw. Terrible flavor. I threw it in the garbage. Price was high too almost $ 12 with tax. Won’t go back.

Last time I was here we came in with a group of about 15 of us and sat outside in the back. This place wasn’t hard to find(there is a big sign out on the main street), but it’s all the way in the corner inside of a big grocery store parking lot(so once you get into the«shopping center», it is a little bit disorienting. It was nice and there were lanterns /lights up so it was really festive and a lot of fun. Beware vegetarians — there is not a lot here for you to eat(I was here with my hubby’s family for a Fish Fry), so either fill up before you get here or be prepared to eat a salad and sides. The food(that I tried) was decent, but not exceptional. We did sit around for a little while after dinner and have beers and talk — — and that was fun and relaxing. Overall — if you want fried fish and it’s a Friday, you might want to stop in here, but except for the relaxing patio, it’s not really standing above any other place in town that offers a Fish Fry either.
