i LOVE this shop. Want a fabulous haircut in an upscale (but comfortable) place in Newtown, without feeling like you’re surrounded by The Real Housewives of Newtown drama? Here is where you go. I have Stefanie cut my hair (followed her from Salon Prive — which was drama-​central) and she consistently does a magnificent job. My mother-​in-​law started going to her, too. She actually takes the time to look at your face shape, your fair texture, what it will/won’t do naturally, and cuts it quickly and beautifully so that it looks good for weeks. She has done balayage highlights for me as well, and is simply an expert. So happy to have a place like this to recommend to people.

Would never go anywhere else (I made that mistake one time)! Joey is amazing at both cuts and color. I also get my eyebrows waxed and tinted and they always look perfect. Where other places have always gone too dark using a generic color with my eyebrows, the capelli shop uses custom color. I am always happy and leave looking great. The music is fun, the décor is hip and every employee is fun yet professional. Do your hair a favor and go here!

Found this salon on Unilocal,read the reviews and decided to give it a try since my pervious hair cuts have not done any justice to my hair, and my cut is EASY long layered. I booked an appt with Shannon. I wanted partial highlights and for her to «fix» the layers that were messed up. Although the price was a bit higher than I wanted to spend, it was worth it! The salon is so delightful, everyone is so friendly, offering you drinks and making sure you are happy. Shannon fixed my cut and gave me perfect coloring. I will be going back!

I’ve been to Jess at The Capelli Shop twice and both times I have been in awe of what a skilled stylist she is! Both cut and color have been amazing! She is thorough when discussing exactly the color and cut that you want, and she has a great personality, so it makes a few hours in the chair for full highlights a totally comfortable experience. The salon itself is also very well maintained, the décor and music are great, and they have a great array of magazines while you wait! A must if you live in the suburbs — no need to travel to the city for great haircuts anymore!

My parents own the cleaners right next to the Capelli shop and one day my mom went in to get a haircut from Shannon. It’s so convenient for her because her old hair dresser used to be 45 min away. she loved Shannon and recommended that I get my hair done there. I got my ombré hair touched up there and she listened to every little bit that i wanted and made my hair awesome. I am absolutely in love with my hairstyle now and can’t wait to keep going back! :)
Also, since the shop is fairly new, the place is spotless. I already love the products that I bought there and the woman that works the front desk is very friendly. She’s welcoming and will ask you right away if you would like a beverage. All of the workers there seem to always put their customer’s needs first and it definitely shows!

The Capelli Shop is a hip little salon on the main drag of Newtown with a friendly and hip vibe. There are three stylist, but I’ve only been to one — Shannon. I was actually a client of Shannon’s before she came to Capelli and now travel quite a distance to see her for my cut and sometimes highlights every 6 – 8 weeks because I like her that much. The service is personal — your stylist is usually the one washing your hair and with you the whole time so you don’t find you are doling out tips to 5 people by the end of the cut. Shannon is a true professional and I’ve had her cut my hair short, style and up-​do for my wedding, and apply highlights. I’ve never been disappointed.

A friend recommended the Capelli Shop to me. I was very impressed upon walking in and being greeted by the staff asking if I wanted anything to drink, a coffee.etc. The place is very trendy and hip and located in cute little Newtown. Its NOT a huge chain type hair salon… which I loved. They cut both women and mens hair and did an outstanding job on my cut! My hair cut was priced perfectly and I had no problem paying! They took their time on my cut… which I’m not used to, made me feel welcomed and I will definitely be going back! I will be recommending The Capelli Shop to all my friends and family.

I LOVE my hair cut!
I had a very bad hair cut about 3 months ago at another salon –it looked like I had been hit with a weed whacker on one side of my head. I knew I would have to lose some inches to get back to normal, something I was not looking forward to.
Joey did a great job evening me back out, removing dull and split ends, but still leaving enough length. My hair still feels long and feminine; the cut is modern, versatile, and looks great.
The salon itself is fun, young and a refreshing addition to Newtown. I was really worried I would have to drive all the way into Philadelphia to find a stylist who can relate to my age and style (hipster/​punk/​rock/​yet sophisticated, sexy and sleek.) My search is over! I will definitely return to Capelli in a few months to trim-​up and talk about color. Thanks Joey!

This spot used to be a place where the old ladies got their hair set, which is hard to believe when you look at it today. The new owners made it a really sleek, modern space complete with a vintage barbershop chair. The place serves both men and women, and they did a great job making it a neutral place — you don’t feel like you’re in a barbershop or an uppity salon. I got a great haircut by Matt. I rarely go in to a hair salon with a specific cut in mind; I just let the stylist do what they think would look good. It came out great. Also, they have beer. Which is awesome. My appointment was at 9 am so I had to pass on it, but next time I’ll probably make an appointment after noon.
