Tanner’s Lawn and Snow Equipment

Tanner’s is a no nonsense dealer. They offer several name brands versus the bo-bo’s the big box stores do plus they care about their customers cause they want your business, big boxes have too many chiefs and not enough indians and they in most cases are there just for a paycheck. We purchased a toro snowblower off them, the price was fair, the unit was ready to go plus it has served us just as good as Tanner’s did. There is no substitute for old fashioned customer service and this is the spot for just that. Simply outstanding !!

there is just no other place to take your mower to be repaired. Brett and his team are first class. They serviced
my homeowners model over the years and did a fine job. I recently purchased a commercial level machine on Craigslist. It had a charging problem with it and it was somewhat difficult finding it but they kept at it and didn’t charge me for the additional attempts. Like I said, no reason to go anyplace else. Local, friendly and very knowledgeable.

Wow, just wow. We live nearby and when our mower broke down we thought we’d try it out. My husband went in with all the info on the part he needed. They ordered it and said it would be in in a week. He went to pick it up a week later and they had somehow ordered the wrong part. They hadn’t retained any of the order info, so my husband had to go look it all up again, call back again, etc. The person taking the order seems not to be paying attention to what needs to be ordered and tells my husband another week wait on the part. When my husband pushed back and said he already waited a week and why should he have to wait another due to their error, the person actually told him that this wasn’t a big order for them and so they essentially didn’t really care. He was then put on hold and when the person came back he said they’d have the part in the next day. We’ll see I guess. Guess where we won’t be buying a riding mower in a couple weeks!?!

We just purchased a new Toro self-​propelled lawn mower from Tanners on Rt. 532 in Newtown. You may remember the location as the former Yamamoto’s.
I walked in after our tired out mower’s metal tube handle snapped from fatigue, and it became impossible to push it further. The guys at Tanners showed me what they had to offer in a quiet, knowledgeable way. They appreciated my frustration, and after asking appropriate questions to zero in on my lawn cutting requirements, directed me to a Toro. There was a small rebate being offered by the manufacturer, to bring the cost in line with the big boxes out on Rt. 1. I always prefer to buy locally, and keep the businesses in town open. A small premium for that satisfaction is well worth it.
Tanners delivered the mower to my home yesterday, fully operational, with a full tank of gas, and road tested. They took away my old mower, and we agreed that if they could repair it for under a certain amount they should do so, and my 12 year old would have a second machine for his budding lawn cutting business. If not, they would give me a small trade in offset. Fair deal.
When I arrived home my son ran out of the house with a big smile. He had already cut two lawns with the new mower, and he was in love with his first machine. We had a sharp cut lawn and a happy boy who had just gone through a right of passage.
All this and a new Toro ballcap, too.
