This is the real deal chocolate aficionado spot. Belgian chocolate, high grade, everything baked on site. If you’re the type of person into premium coffee, cigars, or wines give this chocolatier a try too.

I love to stop by for some chocolates that I usually give as gifts. They offer a beautiful presentation. I recently purchased a solid chocolate bunny for my son’s Easter basket but it was so good that I ended up eating the whole head so I had to chop it up so he wouldn’t notice. I’ll have to buy two bunnies instead next year!

Newtown’s best kept secret. Wow. I would compare the quality and flavors to that of what you would find in Switzerland. Each and every piece made here is even better than the last. They are super friendly, locally owned and put out a great product. I’m only buying people chocolate as gifts from now on.

I really don’t want to rave too much, because I’d hate it if they got too popular and raised their prices. But I’m a chocolate fanatic, and I have had a lot of fancy chocolates in my day. This place is as good or better than all of them. They have their regular candies (I particularly like the chocolate covered pretzels and the caramel pecan clusters) and then their more expensive gourmet candies, which change on a regular basis but are consistently superb. One year I bought candies for Christmas for people – one box got utterly destroyed in the heat (CA), but the others were gratefully and adoringly received. This is a real find for a suburban store. I just came back from a trip to Portland and their Moonstruck Chocolate – which was divine. But no better than the Newtown Chocolatier.

Who am I kidding?
I just went into Newtown Chocolatier to pick up some Peanut Butter Cups and Pecan Turtles for my son to bring to his grandparents for Easter. While I was at it I asked the kind woman behind the counter if they had any broken pieces available. She went into the back room and came out with a box of Milk Chocolate Strips. I took every last nibble, and just tasted a bit before writing this update.
Daaaahhhhmmmm! So good. Sweet, smooth, instantly addicting.
5 Aces, and should have been so all along.

I found this gem of a store thanks to a groupon and let me tell you i was blown away with the quality of their chocolate. I went with a 48 piece box and we finished it within 1 week. The dark chocolate pieces were some of the best ive had. I look forward to returning.
