The New Art Center has great classes learn pottery and painting. They offer children day classes for school vacation which is a great option for parents seeking something educational for school vacation days. Their prices are really good for what they offer. The center a converted church is a beautiful space and has plenty of parking in the rear.

My daughter and I love the ceramics classes here! It’s a great little place with a charming, small community feel. I really like that they have Saturday Parent & Child classes. It’s hard to find classes that parents and kids can take together, and as a working mom I enjoy spending time with my kids on weekends rather than dropping them off somewhere. I highly recommend!

This is a gem of a place, a charming stone church turned art center, tucked in on a side street in Newtonville! Its charming, delightful, and very alive. I looooooooove this place! !! I’m both a student and a teacher there. I began as a volunteer, then started taking classes, and now teach there myself. I really can’t say enough good things about the place. There’s something very special about it. Check it out!!! :-)

I’m with Sam S and Alexandra L here, in fact I saw them at the Spothunters opening. Great to see a small community gallery support cutting edge art!

Just like Sam S. I went to the New Art Center to see curator Caleb Neelon’s SPOTHUNTERS exhibition that is on through April — it is a crazy location for an exhibition of graffiti and street art but provided an interesting counterpoint to the extremely suburban surroundings — you park on a completely residential street. There guest curator program is def. something local Boston artists should take a look at more seriously — it is always good to rock the suburbs with a little bit of the city love.

I am impressed that this more conservative contemporary art gallery was willing to exhibit all kinds of «urban» art! I went there Friday evening and saw what some of the highly skilled graffiti artists in Boston and New York have been up to lately. Cheers to the board at the New Art Center for approving such a cutting edge and controversial showcase!
