Cramped, messy shop, filled with the owner’s ego and overpriced inventory.

For some reason, Unilocal is hiding all the really fabulous reviews that this place gets and highlighting the bad ones. This place is a gem(tongue in cheek) and I highly recommend that you take the time that Unilocal makes you do to read the filtered reviews. This place is without a doubt, one of the most fantastic finds for the discerning jewelry buyer who is tired of what’s available at the department stores and the traditional stuff in the jeweler’s building. Diva has an amazing assortment of stuff you’ve never ever seen and will love!

So happy I discovered this shop! If you love going to estate sales and antique stores and tend to beeline toward the jewelry case, Diva’s probably the spot for you. They’ve got everything from fun, chunky bracelets, super unique statement necklaces, gorgeous rings and more. What’s really special is that everything is one of a kind here. I got a few pieces for myself last time I visited but plan to head back for some unique gifts in the future. The store is run by a woman named Donna who’s actually the real gem here! She was super friendly and helpful in picking some pieces she thought I’d like and caught on fast to my tastes. You could just tell by the way she talked about her pieces how passionate she is about jewelry and I love that she refers to them as «adornments»! Donna really made the experience and I left feeling like I took home some pretty special adornments of my own. :) Best new discovery!

I don’t really care about her new product but Donna is an expert on estate and vintage or antique jewelry. She is a terrific resource for those who have their grandmothers jewelry that they know nothing about. Her pricing is fair based on what she paid for the piece. And, her selection is fantastic!!!

Nearly everything is about 70% overpriced. There certainly are some interesting pieces that are indeed one of a kind; however, there are equally as many items that are not. I’ve visited the shop on more than one occasion and leave feeling uneasy. I worry that people who shop here may not do their homework and may be swindled by the owner’s misrepresentation that her inventory is highly valuable… much of it is not. The most challenging part about shopping here is that the owner can be quite off putting in her demeanor. Her commentary is non-stop from the time you walk in and it’s simply not a helpful interaction. There is no happy-medium. There are certainly other stores in and outside of New England where you can find similar or the same high quality jewelry from a variety of time periods that are represented more accurately in their value and rarity… not to mention overall better customer service and professionalism from a small business owner. This was the email I received from Donna after posting the review: «You really are a piece of work. Take my hint and f__k off!!» I understand business is personal, but is this who you want to give your money to? I haven’t observed such a reaction or choice of words from any other business on Unilocal reviews.

Donna is in denial, a lier and is quite paranoid, I have never threatened her or anyone she knows in any way and have had no contact with her since leaving her shop after her disrespectful treatment of my girlfriend. I AMINVITINGYOUTOPLEASE call the police and press charges already, this is the same angry and negative response you already posted to my and others truthful reviews about how you treat people. WOW you just keep lying, do you realize that everything you accuse me of is forever kept on a computer somewhere? My reviews are fair and your broad ranging accusations are totally you acting defensive against the truth, GOODJOB! Look out Donna they are all out to get you! ROFLMAO! Your behavior will be the reason people stop going to your shop and will have to close, no one is after you and maybe you should look inside for the truth instead of this constant acting out when the truth about your actions are put under a light. WOW they removed my reviews? Another LIE, LOL! take another look, mine and other reviews are still there, gee cant you just learn and change how you treat others instead of this constant acting out in an angry and deceptive way? If you had only been nice and patient to my girlfriend, then you would NEVER have had the factual review posted. PS– Great Job Getting your OBVIOUS group of friends to post glowing reviews here suddenly! LOL!(March 19th2012, Both from Newington, NHYIKES how fake!) OOPS looks like Unilocal policed ALL those fake reviews right off the site! March 26th– Looks like another one hit wonder with a positive review, LOL April 4th and another one hit wonder and now 7 other spammy reviews in the shadows, good job trying to bury things!

Donna, I want is my money back for the scrap metal. Like I said, I did not brake the bracelet. It broke due to poor quality, twice! I speak the truth and would only advice others not to shop at Diva. As a customer I was mistreated and would not suggest Diva to anyone.

This shop is amazing. I learned about DIVA from a Boston Deals coupon which I bought earlier in the week. What caught my eye was the photo on the deal page: a jewelry case full of rings, mostly vintage, bold, and beautiful. When I arrived at DIVA, sure enough, that very case was opened for me as the owner(Donna) helped me to search for something in my idiom(vintage silver and vintage plastics are my favorites). I have large hands, but what I really appreciated was that there were plenty of larger-sized rings to choose from. I tried on a 100% stone ring(rutilated quartz, carved into a ring) and though I didn’t leave with it this time, I swear I will hunt you down if you buy it before I get a chance to. DIVA has a nice assortment of vintage plastics(from celluloid to Bakelite to Galalith and Lucite) and I ultimately bought a ring that Donna’d had carved out of an old billiard ball. I’ve been to a lot of antique and vintage jewelry shops, and I felt that the prices at DIVA were reasonable and fair for the things about which I have a basis for intelligent comment. DIVA is a beautiful vintage and antique store that is well-maintained, well-lit, and well-appointed. I saw a lot of mid-20th-century rhinestones, Victorian silver, and vintage plastics, all in their appropriate cases. There’s a huge mirror for trying stuff on, and another smaller«infinity tube» mirror that is a lot of fun to use and get funky with. The front window has several cases that are, at present, decked out for Valentine’s Day(one as a hearts theme, one has a flowers theme, one has a purple theme — intended for the guys), and each side of the store has a series of floor and wall cases. It’s not over-crowded, but you will want to spend some time in here, so park behind the shop — some of the merchants on that street pay for the parking in that lot, so customers don’t have to. I parked on the street, at a coin-op meter, but next time, I’ll be in the lap of free-parking luxury. In the course of my hour-long visit, I got to learn about DIVA and its owner, Donna, who has been selling vintage jewelry for thirty-five years, and collecting it for even longer. I took my time, visiting every case, and Donna pointed me to everything she had that fit in with what I was looking for. I never felt rushed, and even when other customers came in, the store didn’t feel crowded. I am kicking myself for not taking any photos while I was there, but I was too awestruck by all the pretty things. DIVA’s website has some great photos that definitely helped me to get an accurate sense of the space beforehand. I asked Donna about her oldest pieces, and among them, she showed me a silver châtelaine that was to die for. I swooned over some of the largest and most ornate cameos I’ve ever seen, a solid gold pair of diamond-bedecked folding opera glasses, a gold-and-diamond antique engagement ring, and a green amethyst teardrop collar, among other things. Yes, Donna brings her A-game to the pieces she buys and offers, but the price range is wide enough for even folks like me(more ramen than Rameses) to find something to bring home. Of course, if you have a boat of disposable income, you will be in heaven at DIVA. PS if you DO have a boat of disposable income, will you kindly consider taking me along when you visit? I could sure use a rutilated quartz ring. EDITEDTOADD: I forgot to mention that the shopping bags and boxes match. And are zebra-print. I’m sorry, but that is just too gorgeous not to mention.
