I was looking for a new stylist close to home and tried Vaiani & Clarke with no prior knowledge of the salon other than what I saw on Unilocal.I was so happy with my visit! Katie Bouchard did an amazing job with my color, cut and blow out. I was looking for something subtle, just to lighten my roots up and she definitely listened to what I wanted and 100% exceeded my expectations. Not to mention she is a cute as a button and totally fun to talk to while I was in her chair :) Thank you, Katie! I will definitely be seeing you again in a few months!

Nicole is amazing. After a botched home color job, Nicole spent three hours making sure I was happy. I even went back the next day for one last (unscheduled) touch up and Nicole was able to see me right away to make sure my color was perfect and I was happy! She’s a rockstar!!! Thanks Nicole!

I saw Katie B. for a haircut yesterday. I had been seeing somebody in the South End who did a great job, but it just became a pain to get down there. After reviewing salons in the Watertown/​Newton area, I found this one. I am always apprehensive with new salons as I have had some butcher jobs. Katie did an awesome job. I have long, curly, fine hair, but a lot of it. She cut it exactly how I wanted, and was a bit conservative with my first cut with her (which I appreciate). She even said if I didn’t think she took enough off to please let her know, and left me with her card. The salon itself was clean, friendly, and had a nice selection of products. They gave me a gown to wear while I cut my hair to make sure my clothes didn’t get dirty or pieces of hair got stuck in i, which was a nice touch. I also appreciated that Katie never pushed me to buy products, but gave some great suggestions once I asked. I will absolutely return and suggest the salon (especially Katie) to friends.

I actually really have enjoyed my cuts here. You pay for the service. I feel the stylists listen to what you are requesting and the hair washing station is excellent as well. I feel well taken care of and trust the stylists are cutting my hair considering the texture and style of my hair.

i’ve had a keratin treatment and a haircut by domingas, and a keratin treatment by alex — both so FABULOUS! i even had an issue with the shampoo i was using and domingas had me come in; she wash/​dried my hair to make sure the keratin was intact. she was so professional about it even when she probably knew that the keratin was fine and my shampoo choice was the problem (needless to say, i left my appointment with some more appropriate product)!
the décor is pretty, the staff are all so glamorous with their gorgeous hair/​makeup/​outfits/​high heels, and they don’t make me feel yucky when i show up in yoga pants and a hoodie likely encrusted in baby food. i can tell they are all great at what they specialize in, and they have a cohesive team making for a positive atmosphere.

I am not one to typically write reviews, but I have had such a wonderful experience both times that I’ve visited Vaiani & Clarke that I felt very motivated to share!
In early February I stumbled across Vaiani & Clarke’s page after searching for months for a salon I could trust. Thank goodness I did! My very first interaction with the front desk staff when I called was fantastic. Their energy, eagerness to help book an appointment that fit my schedule, and positivity made me very confident that I had chosen the right place. I saw Alex for my hair cut (I was going for a drastic change, cutting my very long hair to shoulder length), and she was terrific! She is very professional, easy to talk to, and extremely talented. I walked away with a new hair cut that I absolutely adore – I won’t trust anyone else with cutting my hair from now on! :)
Just this past weekend, I visited Vaiani & Clarke again, this time for a color with Nicole. I had heard amazing things about Nicole’s work, and I can now see why! After sharing a couple ideas of what I wanted, but not knowing exactly what would suit me best, Nicole came up with a fantastic plan for my hair that we were both comfortable with and excited about. I had such a wonderful time! Nicole is down to earth, professional, super easy to talk to, and clearly knows what she is doing. The end result is even better than what I originally envisioned for my hair. I am beyond pleased!
I can’t emphasize enough what a strong and talented group this is! You can be sure that I will be returning here for any and all hair needs in the future. :) If you’re looking for a comfortable, clean, professional, positive salon experience, Vaiani & Clarke is the way to go!

Went for haircut with Nicole based on the reviews. I believe she does a better job coloring I have to say. The cut was mediocre. Saw that it was uneven when i got home and the cut was not what I wanted. I am not one to complain but based on the reviews I read I did expect more. Also my hair was left limp after her blow drying which was very disappointing. Think for cut the other girls are better and same for blow drying but for color she is a good choice.

I had a great experience at this salon. Nicole did an amazing job on my highlights. They look very natural and exactly what I described to Nicole that I wanted. The front staff was also very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend this salon!

I’ve been going to Nicole for well over a year and she is wonderful. She is very talented when it comes to hair color and is very patient even when I’m not sure what I want. Well today she worked her magic and my hair looks amazing! Great color and cut. Couldn’t be happier. Thanks Nicole!

Had a Brazilian blowout last week with Armela and I couldn’t be happier! She did a meticulous job and it shows in the end result– and I’ve had several in the past (at other salons) so this ain’t my first time at the rodeo! Raved about it to my sister, who’s going in next week for one with Armela as well. Will definitely be going back for another in a few months.

So far so good… I will re-​update after I get my hair colored and cut here, but for now they get a great review from me. The salon is located in Newton Centre and has a little parking lot across the street, which is nice.
The place is nicely decorated and I love the old vault door. The staff was all very pleasant, especially the man at the front desk and Gia.
Gia did a wonderful job on my husband’s hair and listened carefully to what he wanted.
A pleasant experience. Hoping we finally found a great salon in the suburbs :)

I love, love, love my colorist Katie. I have changed my hair color so many times and she’s always patient with me and my ever changing hair color mood. She has great opinions and does an amazing job. I always know I can trust her and it will come out fabulous no matter what. I’ve had my hair cut by a few different stylists there as well and they always do a great job. I usually bring a picture of what I’m looking for and they match it up exactly and talk it through with me in case there’s anything I want changed a bit during the process. I always know I’m going to leave here with a great cut and color.

I’ve been having my hair colored and cut by Nicole for many years and followed her to her new salon Vaiani & Clarke. It’s wonderful to see her and Gia open their own place and the service is exceptional. The front desk people are incredibly nice, the salon is beautiful, and the atmosphere is professional but relaxed and not uptight. I love that they listen to what you want and it always exceeds expectations. I won’t go anywhere else!

I met Nicole at a Neiman Marcus Beauty Event. Nicole was absolutely lovely and I decided to make an appointment at her salon. My appointment was a root touch up and a highlight!
When I walked in everyone was extremely friendly and professional. I was impressed when Nicole remembered meeting me at Neimans!
I was also blown away by Nicole’s technique. Nicole was absolutely meticulous ! My hair was incredible!!!
I also want to mention the amazing blow out I received from Alex.
don’t bother going into Boston this salon knows what they are doing. I absolutely had a great time and feel fab!

If you want an absolutely great hair color you must go see Nicole. Everyone at V&C is an amazingly talented stylist and I have recommended them to all of my family and friends. I won’t go anywhere else!
