My new go to spot for lunch when in Newton. Fresh Salad Bar with lots of items. Stopped in a few weeks ago and made a bottomless salad. Got to the register only to realize that I did not have my wallet with me. The manager said, «Don’t worry, just remember your friends at Fresh City the next time you are in the area looking for lunch» Went back last week and paid them back and had another awesome salad. Will choose Fresh City over Panera from now on

I hadn’t been here in several years, but thought I would stop for lunch. I had a chicken stir fry with ginger lime sauce and udon noodles that was advertised. I liked that you can choose your own veggies. I was concerned about an allergy and the guy who took my order, Kenny, got the label off the sauce for me so I could see if there was anything in it I was allergic to(there wasn’t). He then went and washed out the stir fry pan before mine was made. Awesome customer service from Kenny who was friendly and knowledgable about food allergies. The stir fry was good, but more chicken would have been better.

Gross, hugely disappointing burrito from here today was not fresh at all… nor was it spicy, and I got the Cajun style burrito. I can’t believe I spent over $ 11 on this lunch. I almost wish I had just thrown it out and got something elsewhere. No wonder the line at Chipotle across the street was so long. I should’ve waited!

I won’t be ordering from here again. I work near Fresh City and I ordered a variety of wraps for a business meeting I had that ended up going past lunch time. I ordered 6 wraps, but was only given 5 and did not notice until I arrived back at the office. Also, I ordered 2 turkey farmer’s market wraps that had no turkey in them. Not even a slice. It was embarrassing when an attendee of the meeting pointed it out. Also, the chicken wraps barely had any meat in them. Overall, it was a crappy lunch and I wish I ordered elsewhere.

Not great food but pretty good. Best part about this place is that it’s diet-friendly as everything on the menu comes w/a calorie count beside it! I also like that there are plenty of options from wraps to stir-frys, etc. I had a burrito and it was pretty good– they steamed the tortilla first, which makes a huge difference imo. I’d never go out of my way to eat at Fresh City but would never hesitate to go. Simply put, it was«A-OK.»

Bottomless Salad Bar was excellent. Good variety of lettuce, toppings, and dressings. Only negative is I would have preferred metal utensils which they are changing soon according to the evening manager who was very hospitable. I would definitely eat here again.

This place used to be good. The place is dirty. The lettuce in the salad bar hasn’t been washed. The black beans are slimy because they haven’t been rinsed. The place is over priced for crap.

Bad customer service and tiny salad wraps. This place was once one of my favorite places in Newton. The Caesar wraps are delicious, but they make them TINY now. Literally a handful of lettuce. What a rip off! I complained because our wraps were so small. They had the audacity of hand me an even smaller wrap. I’m done!

A fine place for lunch. Stir fry noodles are real good. So are many other things: wraps, burritos, and smoothies.

Good location but really expensive for their wraps and they are very stingy with the ingredients. 12 bucks for the mandarin chicken wrap and a bottled drink. It hardly had any chicken in it… I won’t be back there anytime soon.

Ignorant doesn’t explain the customer service I received while placing a big order over the phone today(1045 am on 6÷11÷14). this girl was beyond rude and impatient. Huffing and puffing and saying ‘is that it’ after every meal I placed. She wouldn’t let me order drinks that we wanted over the phone(we work in a medical office and have reps bring us lunch so we place the order so they can just run in and grab it) she said it would be easier for them if we just picked out drinks when we came in. And then wouldn’t let me pay with a card over the phone… which again… we have reps just running in to pick things up for us, we don’t give them our credit card. So thanks fresh city for making ordering lunch into quite a disappointment. We won’t be back again!

The service and work ethic here is absolutely appalling. Other then their ingredients, there really nothing good to say about this particular Fresh City. Seems that Management is the culprit.

I usually go for the salad bar however I have decided recently that I’m no salad artist. I tried the buffalo chicken salad a couple days ago and boy I was pleasantly surprised! It was a large portion with lots of flavor. I substituted the carrot for scallions and the gentleman that helped me was happy to change it so it suited me. I ate there but had some leftover so I brought it home and ate it the next day, just as good! Definitely my new dish when I go there!

The food’s alright. Not excellent by any means, but edible. But what really gets me is the experience I had with them when I was just out of high school and looking to make some money to defray the costs of college. I applied for jobs at a lot of the local businesses, and after an interview, the manager hired me on the spot. I came in that following Monday, was trained, went through a full eight hour shift, and then the same manager told me to call back tomorrow so I could get my schedule. I called, and was told that my schedule wasn’t ready. Same for the next day, and the rest of the week until I finally got the idea that they didn’t really want to hire me after all. But obviously it was just too difficult for them to tell me that, or even so much as pay me for that shift that I did work. I get that a lot of companies tend to slack off when it comes to getting back to someone after they’ve applied — but to hire someone and then just cut them off without a word? That’s low. But hey, I guess communication is hard. Since then I’ve avoided eating there. Any company that acts that unprofessionally isn’t one worth patronizing.

I come here because I always get the same thing, and it’s consistently great– a Buffalo Chicken Caesar Wrap. It’s off the menu, but I just say I want a Chicken Caesar Wrap, but instead of regular chicken, I want Buffalo chicken. The people working there have never have had a problem with that request. and their pita chips are great! It’s more on the expensive side for a wrap, but every once in a while, it’s worth it!

it’s a 3.5 my noodles were undercooked and slightly hard. we went with a large group so it could be b/c they were rushed, but soft noodles would have been better. also, it was really salty(but i’ve had this problem at other places). i had the salmon wrap but it was 2 pieces of this generic salmon wannabe thing. looked like salmon/canned tuna combo. was not worth the $ 8.79. nothing special about it. the salad bar was large and diverse but there were 2 – 3 fruit flies swarming around the breads and bar area. they were also swarming around us when we were eating too. get the flies out! overall it was an okay experience. the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. they seem to keep the place well kept and it had enough for our group. i wouldn’t seek this place out but if i find it’s an option then i would consider it.

I’d never heard of Fresh City until I moved back to New England but I heard some good things from coworkers and figured I’d give it a try for lunch. Hell, I even tried THREETIMES hoping the incompetent staff was just a fluke. No such luck. Honestly, I just went for the salad bar, which is very large with lots of options. However, the one or two cashiers are so incredibly slow it was mind-blowing. Also, I was very disappointed in the prices. My small salad and bottle of seltzer was over $ 10. What!!! I won’t be going back here unless someone else fronts the bill. At least there is a huge parking lot so you don’t have to hunt for a street spot.

I’ve been coming here for years. Something has changed in the food quality. It’s going downhill. We had 2 soups, 2 wraps and 1 smoothy. Total $ 32. Chicken in the wrap and soup were tough and bad. Too bad because we used to like this place. Not planning to return.

This is my go to spot for smoothies especially the high protein one. They are usually pretty good about substitutions and add ins which is nice. I would normally give them 5 stars, but recently the taste has been going down and the wait times have been going up. I am not sure if it is because there is new staff that are still learning the ropes, but they are just not tasting the same. I also love the stir-fry as well especially with lo mein noodles and their teriyaki sauce. Also the fact that you can use veggies from the salad bar to make up your stir-fry is really great because this particular location has a very large selection in their salad bar to choose from. Hopefully the location will get their newbies up to speed soon so the food quality is back to where it was.
