Like Karen M., only more than a year later and having been under the care of Mrs. Dr. Yamamoto(Samantha), I am struggling to find the most extravagant praise possible to describe what I experienced in this doctor’s chair. I am the first to agree with Kenneth B(9⁄07) that dentistry HURTS, and that I might be the biggest chicken about dental pain on this earth, but under Dr. Yamamoto, I literally had only one millisecond of hurt in the entire experience of my peridontal surgery. Dr. Yamamoto was a master at her craft: she had the technical expertise to do the job right and the human expertise to know that people are scared to have their mouths operated on and that they need explanation and reassurance – but not too much. She was calm and confident and somehow, miraculously, made me so, too. Though I hope never to have to have peridontal surgery again, if I do, I will make a bee-lie back to this doctor.

What is the most extravagant praise one could give a dentist? How about this: I feel so safe and relaxed under Dr. Yamamoto’s expert care that I have nodded off more than once while he was working on my mouth. When I told him, he said that lots of his patients do that! Both Drs. Yamamoto(husband and wife) and their technicians and hygenist are top-notch and give the most concerned, thoughtful care and just tremendous standards of excellence.

The only reason I don’t give them 5 stars is. well, dentistry HURTS! But I find the atmosphere wonderful, all the work I’ve had done there has been excellent, and everyone is friendly. Also, I enjoy hearing some Japanese around their office(just my bias) as they also cater to the Nihonjin population around Boston. Everything I can look for from a dentist. Truly recommend. The only drawback, I guess, is if you have no car it is probably a 10 minute walk from the Newton Center T stop(D-line).but if you do have a car there is ample parking.
