Spates The Florist & Garden Center

Spates was friendly, helpful and affordable. We are from the Boston area and met with Jill once to tell her what we wanted and to show her general internet pictures, and boy did she deliver! We ordered 1 bridal bouquet, 6 bridesmaid bouqets and 7 boutonierres as well as 3 different types of seasonal/​filler flowers in bulk (we did our own centerpieces on every table and decorated extra tables). Our flowers arrived the day of our wedding on time, beautiful and fresh! I was very meticulous about calculating how many flowers I would need per table when ordering since we were on a very strict budget, and when the box arrived we had so many more fillers (waxflowers, hypernicum) than we expected, we were able to use them throughout our ceremony space as well! My wedding bouquet lasted almost 2 weeks after the wedding without refrigdgeration. I recommend ANYONE getting married in the NEK to use Spates as their wedding florist – you will not be disapointed! We have friends in the area still and we will try our best to push as much business as we can their way!

Even though I am happily in Halloween mode, most stores are stocking Christmas stockings and all the other trimmings; so, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. So, I just pre-​ordered my Holiday wreaths.
That being said, I am letting you all in on my secret weapon for the utmost in Christmas wreaths. Every year I get compliments on my wreaths. Not only that, they are pretty much going strong from the end of November to mid January.
For the last 10 years or so, Spates the Florist has been my wreath-​maker. Not only are they beautiful, but they are fabulously priced for the quality, and they smell divine.
The other reason I picked this small florist in Vermont is because they carry something that I have had trouble finding: half wreaths. Yep, half wreaths. These hang gently and beautifully from your house and garage carriage lights or sconces without taking the entire fixture down, and half the siding with it. I mean, some fixtures can handle just so much wreath.
Sure, I have, on many occasions, purchased wreaths from my nieces school clubs. But, they don’t seem to last and I would rather give a donation and get my wreaths elsewhere.
I’m sticking with Spates. Fa la la la la la la la laaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
