Waited 10 minutes before waiter gave us menus. didn’t get our beverages until the meal was served. food was good but way overpriced for what we got. the setting was nice but probably will be quite a while before we return there.

An honest 5 out of 5. This is another restaurant I’ll visit two to three times a week. The food is great, the newest chef Ryland is innovative and always coming up with new dishes. Their ingredients are extremely local. The most impressive part, even though there’s been a high turnover of management, and they’re typically understaffed for a busy night, the waiter or waitress is always attentive. You will not wait for your drinks, you will not wait for your, and it’s very reasonably priced. Average check cost for a single couple, ranges from $ 50 to $ 75 including alcohol. Burger Monday should be mentioned and they also have a fabulous rotating local beer selection on tap.

Beer is great, Hill Farmstead has a lot to do with that. Burgers were good but super inconsistent on the cook. 3 of us got med rare and when they came out they figured to give us just one like that, while the others were med & med well. Checked the receipt after the fact and they actually punched one in as med well, so it wasn’t the cook, it was just missed by the waitress. Despite that, flavors were good, fries were great. Kind of a food court setting at a shopping mall. Success should lead to expansion. Seem to have the right idea but need a little tweaking. Will return for sure.

This has become our go-to place for lunch — the food is very well prepared, using fresh, local ingredients and the service is very good. I appreciate there being two sizes of burgers, an unusual occurrence in today’s restaurants where bigger is deemed to be better. I can’t single out one dish to say it is better than the rest. My husband loves the beer selection, especially the craft brews. I do have to say, though, that most of the chairs are very hard and uncomfortable, discouraging any lingering over a meal. And the space is pretty noisy.

Went on a drive through Northern Vermont and found this place thanks to Unilocal. What a find!!! Had the best burger of my life here(blue cheese, Piccadilly, maple bacon). Cooked to perfection, juicy but not enough to soak the bun… and the bun was great. Staff said to try the cheddar and apple next time(I will). My wife had the chicken salad wrapped in lettuce and it was also fantastic. I had the Farm Hill Edward(a perfect combo to the burger) and my wife had the Eden cider trio. Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. We had a perfect outing through VT highlighted by the Cider house. If we weren’t dieting we would have tried the apps and also the dessert. Everything carried from the kitchen to tables looked fantastic.

This place is a hidden treasure! We were very luck the owner of the B&B we were staying in recommended it, or I doubt we ever would have made our way in here. It is in a nondescript building that(during the day) has a variety of local vendors and tastings, etc! By the time we were there for dinner, the vendor stalls were closed for the day, but looked like a great place to check out some local goods. The bar serves both bar food and full meals(and dessert), but focuses on locally-sourced ingredients and tasty twists on classics. This place was a winner all around! It is very casual, pub-style, and was quite quiet on the random weeknight we were there, so it was easy to chat. The service was exceptional — our server was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and both the food and drink came out very quickly. We sampled both their ciders(the ice ciders were amazing) and beers, and(without even requesting) we were given free samples of some of them to aid us in our selection. The food was good as well, as least what we had. We split one of the specials, which was a Mexican-style dish that was meant as an appetizer but was plenty for the two of us to share as a main, given that we weren’t starving and filling up on the delicious drinks! Not the best Mexican ever(slightly on the bland side, but I’m also used to Californian places…), but still very tasty and filling! Dessert was lovely as well. This is the kind of place that can really appeal to anyone(assuming you’re not looking for something with particularly fancy/upscale ambiance). Good local food with nice veggie and healthy options, but traditional meat and barfood, and plenty of alcohol of many varieties. Fabulous service and a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere — what more can you ask for?!

Excellent food, good service, appropriately priced. All four of us had a very relaxed and enjoyable time. I had the Maine mussels yum yum. My friend’s pulled pork sandwich with crispy onions and heaps of cole slaw looked to die for and will def get it next time. We split the cider donut with local ice cream and praline sauce mmmmmm good.

I had an extremely hard time finding this restaurant. Hopefully what I describe here will spare somebody else the agony of unnecessarily driving up and down Main Street. It’s difficult to find because 1) the sign in front isn’t very noticeable and 2) it’s concealed inside a larger building named Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center. The NKTC houses roughly 5 different businesses that sell local items like cheeses, maple syrup, and baked goods. The restaurant itself is clean, airy, and nicely decorated. Being inside the larger building, you can check out some of the other businesses while waiting for your food. I purchased some nice homemade baked goods from two nice older ladies. My beefalo burger was great. It was a little greasy but I know from experience that buffalo meat is somewhat tricky to cook. Cook it not enough and it tastes greasy. Cook it too much and it tastes dry. Beefalo meat isn’t really buffalo meat. It’s comes from cows which are bred with a few buffalo genes. The cows have most of their cow genes and just a 3rd of them come from buffalos. The benefit of beefalo meat is that it contains less fat and less cholesterol than ordinary cow meat. I liked it. Thumbs up. What’s also great is that the beefalo meat is locally raised at nearby Spring Hill Farm in Orleans, VT. What’s not so great is that a burger(with fries) costs $ 12 which is kinda steep for Vermont. But hey, visit on a Monday like I did and the price drops to a $ 9 special. That’s a bargain. Most of their menu consists of comfort food with a slight Vermont locally-sourced twist. I wish I had a bigger belly so I could try more items. Overall I liked this restaurant. I’m not sure if this place caters to the out-of-state tourists like me(Jay Peak is a few miles up the road) or if the locals actually come here too. I suspect it caters to a little bit of both. Regardless I’d return if I’m ever in Newport again. Now I know how to find it.
