Really liked this place, very cool atmosphere. It was a lot bigger on the inside then I realized with a large bar and salad bar area. They have a lot of great options in the menu. We were super impressed with the Ultimate Nachos, they didn’t skimp on the guacamole like a lot of other restaurants do which is awesome. They definitely do have some of the best clam chowder I’ve ever had. The lobster roll was delicious, with nice chunks of fresh lobster. And we were really surprised by the pulled pork sandwich with caramelized onions, so good! We will totally be back for the chicken wings and that giant brownie sundae that they make!

The lobster Rueben was too die for. It has sooooo much meat inside. I wasn’t prepared for that. The claw meat is served outside the sandwich and the rest of the meat is inside the sandwich. The server was Evan and was AMAZING! Be prepared for a 30 – 45 minute wait during dinner time. It was well worth the wait. The salad bar looks pretty good also. I saw hard-boiled eggs and workers constantly cleaning that area and refilling the food.

Was recommended by the front desk at our hotel — believe they tell all families(with young kids) to go here. Read the reviews so had high hopes. Had a bit of a wait, so we walked along the water which was nice. Kitschy place, bar was packed. Was excited to try the lobster Mac and cheese after reading a number of reviews but was quite disappointed. Lobster and noodles were overcooked(couldn’t tell what kind of noodles they were as they all fell apart when trying to pick them up with the fork). My husband had the scrod which he enjoyed. Each came with the salad bar, the veggies seemed like they came out of cans). The soup(also part of the salad bar) that day was very good. Our daughter had a kid’s cheese pizza which was huge and actually, quite good! Because of the noise level, this is definitely a great place for young kids, but if you’re looking for good food, there are a number of other kid friendly places you’ll find in town.

Best prime rib I’ve ever had. Phenomenal lobster mac. Awesome dessert. Great portions, great service, fair prices. My one and only gripe was the noise level, but that certainly won’t stop me from returning.

Checked this place out for the first time yesterday and will be going back again. Amazing food, delicious drinks and friendly waitstaff. My friend I shared the stuffed clams a la Portuguese appetizer which was out of this world. For my main dish I ordered Mikes Portuguese clam pasta. It came in a huge bowl filled with Steamed native littlenecks with white wine, green peppers, onions, crushed red pepper, garlic, olive oil and chourico finished with chopped red sweet peppers and fresh cilantro and penne pasta. It was Amazing! My friend ordered a burger which was cooked correctly and he enjoyed.

Lively fun Pub with friendly staff and good food. Great sandwiches and burgers. A wonderful soup and salad bar. No reflection on this establishment but I learned something ! Mac and cheese is a wonderful comfort food and lobster is a real treat but in my opinion they should never be mixed. Mine arrived looking just like a picture with a generous portion of lobster but the finishing process where they flame the breadcrumbs dries out the meat and makes it chewy. I will go back and just order something else. However, the chicken orzo soup was hearty and the lobster roll was delicious!

Wow. We stumbled across this place on a Sunday afternoon in Newport and were blown away. The food here is OUTSTANDING! Don’t sleep on the soup of the day, which was sausage white bean. The salads are huge, fresh and delicious. There are also the most awesome sweet potato fries. Can’t wait to come back!

The lobster Mac n cheese here is no joke! The Mac would have been great alone, with fat noodles, a scrumptiously cheesy sauce, and a crispy top, but they decided to drop a whole lobster in there. It just made me so happy to dig out huge, juicy chunks of lobster when I expected much less. $ 19 for this dish is definitely worth the price. Aside from the food, the restaurant itself is really cute. You can’t miss the gorgeous yellow exterior of it when walking down downtown Newport. The interior is eclectic, with crazy decorations like a hanging, vintage Brown U rowboat. While here, you have to take a trip to the women’s restroom(if that’s what you use) and see the vintage posters of sexy, ridiculously ripped models. They know how to please their customers! :P The service is also really friendly and happy to assure you that the lobster Mac and cheese is sizable! This is a can’t-miss place to dine in Newport!

Came here as the first meal for my bachelorette party. My girls and I decided on Brick Alley, because of the raving reviews. Three of us ordered their famous clam chowder and the following dishes they are known for: lobster roll, fish tacos, and stuff jumbo shrimp. The soup was just okay, nothing crazy. The fish tacos were good and very fulfilling as well as the lobster rolls. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria and it was watered down. I wouldn’t say this is a top notch restaurant, but it’s doable.

We stopped in before heading towards the mansions and this was a really good find. Our server was extremely pleasant and she definitely added to the experience. There is a ton of stuff all over the walls and the ceilings so plenty to look at! The sedona burger I ordered was MASSIVE. Quite delicious. I always finish my food but by the end of this burger I was struggling. My bf ordered the New Bedford Fisherman Scrod and thought it was amazing, like 5⁄5 amazing. Highly recommend.

This place doesn’t look fancy, but the food was great! If you’ve never been to the area, it’s like the big busy downtown area, so expect to pay a meter or pay in a lot. We luckily got a spot when someone backed out, but it’ll be tough. And of course there are a lot of seafood places along the block, but this definitely left me satisfied. We went in a time between lunch and dinner and there was a bit of a wait, but not as long as we were told. Have to wait upstairs in the bar area because there’s not a lot of room near the hostess stand. The clam chowder was creamy and with lots of clams. The lobster mac n cheese was delicious and was packed with lobster. The Cajun sea scallops were nice, but didn’t have as much spice as I suspected. The service was fast and friendly and the food was plentiful at a decent place. With so many options around, you don’t be disappointed coming here.

Our go to date night spot! I have never had a lobster Mac n cheese with so much lobster! I’ve never had just an ok meal here every meal is amazing. Down stairs you get the salad bar with most of the mess which adds great value to the price. Upstairs you get a great selection in a laid back atmosphere. The servers are great, the food is amazing. But the nachos are to die for. Like completely to die for! I would come here just for the nachos alone

Heard & Read many things about Brick Alley the whole time we were in Newport, I was in search of the best Bloody Mary so off we headed, got there & were told to go Upstairs as the lower level was full… Only to get upstairs & then find out its a TOTALLY different restaurant… UMMMMWTF is that?! So we had a drink at whatever the place upstairs is called & then left. Kinda bummed because I had heard great things, but the way the hostess just was like GO Up Stairs turned me off & I have no desire to go back! The drink upstairs was decent.

We knew we’d be visiting Brick Alley because our good friends are huge fans of Newport and also very big fans of this spot. You could never tell how massive in size this restaurant is from the street. It’s a bit crazy(good crazy). They have an eclectic theme and there is plenty of chatter so this is a great choice if you are dining with kids. No one’s going to shoot you dirty looks if your kids are library quiet. One of the things about this spot that I very much appreciate is their clean bathrooms. They make it a point to keep them that way, they even have a switch you can turn on if you feel the bathroom could use a cleaning or perhaps more paper towels. Many restaurants fail when it comes to details, but not at Brick Alley. We ordered a lot of appetizers… our stomachs were bigger than our appetite when all was said and done. They have decent to generous portions. All the food was tasty and the wait staff friendly and did their jobs well.

Had a 7:30pm reservation here on a Saturday night while visiting Newport and was astounded how crowded this place got! We waited for ~15 minuted before being seated, which was no big deal as there were march madness games on at the bar. Once seated, we decided to split a special appetizer — texas chili nachos. This portion was enormous and could easily feed 5 people so we could only eat half. There was a little too much sour cream on top of the nachos, but still great! We ordered a special hot sauce on the side of the nachos called the gringo killer, which unfortunately never came to our table. We will have to try this out next time! We also split a lobster mac and cheese entrée, which came with the signature soup and salad bar. The salad bar was fairly basic and delicious; haven’t see salad bars anywhere in years! The signature soup was tomato, but we upgraded to replace it with the clam chowder. howder has huge chunks of fish and was a hearty portion. Lobster mac and cheese was absolutely delicious and had GIGANTIC chunks of lobster in it. I am normally skeptical of ordering anything with lobster since the actual fish is never a great sized portion, but Brick Alley proved me wrong! All dishes were reasonable priced and we had leftovers for dinner the next night. Loved dining here and would recommend it to anyone visiting Newport, but definitely need a reservation!

Good combination of pub food and well executed salads — works well for families. Their harvest salad of mixed greens, blue cheese and walnuts was lovely as was the spinach dip, French onion soup and Turkey Ruben with sweet potato fries. Also try the Lobstacado, lobster and avocado on an English muffin with melted cheese. Lots of the good stuff with minimal amounts of bread! Great service as well, fast and attentive.

Yes, the look and feel of this place screams«tourist trap,» but I still embraced it with open arms, and I would do it again. The food is great; the walls are fun to look at; the drinks are strong; and there’s plenty of seating. Is it classy and quaint? No. It’s loud and in your face, but in a good way. I don’t know if I would battle groups of tourists during peak season and wait a long time to get seated here, but it’s definitely worth a casual lunch or dinner if it’s not too busy.

We chose to go here after reading all of the reviews. This place I assume is the place to be! The wait was over a 2 hour wait, but they let you stay in the bar area and have a drink so it isn’t that bad of a wait. the place is a very welcoming environment and I would go back. We had the nachos, the fish and Chips, and some drinks. I don’t know if it is because we live in NYC, but the Irish Coffee’s really weren’t that amazing. I will say they were amazing in the sense that they tasted strong, however it wasn’t what I was expecting– still good though! The staff is wonderful though and the décor is pretty awesome for a pub.

Stopped by with a group of 10 on Saturday and we expected to wait but we didn’t expect a two hour wait! Nonetheless we went upstairs to the bar to wait and have a drink before dinner. The upstairs hostess was very nice and assured us that she would come find us when our table is ready downstairs. We only waited about an hour and a half so bonus there. Unfortunately when we were seated downstairs, it was right next to the door and mind you it was –1000 degrees Saturday night. We were sat about 8pm and the place was still packed with a waitlist. I took a stroll by the salad bar and was pleasantly surprised with what I saw. Considering it was so packed they really had great staff who managed to keep up with replenishing the items. I ordered the triple hot buffalo pasta and my husband had the chicken parm. Food came out relatively quickly, although my dish out of the 10 was the last one to come out and there was probably a 5 minute delay between my dish and everybody else’s. No biggie. I’m glad I had the salad bar to fall back on because the superduper hot and spicy pasta was anything but. It was almost like Alfredo sauce with crushed red pepper, nothing crazy. It wasn’t terrible but I would definitely not order that again. One of our friends had the lobster mac & cheese which she loved and my husband really liked his chicken parm. I would definitely try this place again if for nothing else but the salad bar. Hopefully the next time we come it’s not as cold and there isn’t as much of a wait!

Heard about this place from a friend in the area. Amazing food. They take the time to do things right. Got the beef nachos that were entirely homemade all the way down to fresh tortilla chips. Also had the chicken sandwich which was hand breaded and freshly fried. The service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and helped us through their menu. Prices were reasonable and portions were large. Would recommend to anyone who is in the area.

Came here for lunch and the wait was about 15 mins. We tried to have dinner here the previous night and the wait was about 1 hour for 2 people, so be prepared for a wait on a Fri or Sat night! The lobster bisque was delicious, highly recommended! We shared a pizza that was pretty good, and I did the unlimited soup and salad, which to me wasn’t entirely worth it. The salad bar was quite limited(in my opinion, I know some people really enjoy it), and the single soup option, italian vegetable, was average. Pricing was a bit on the higher end for just lunch.

Brick Alley Pub is one of my favorite restaurants to visit in Newport. We headed straight here after getting into town and watched the entire Patriots game at their new upstairs burger bar, Plumby’s. We had a lot of fun watching with fellow Patriots fans. We went downstairs for dinner after the game and I had my favorite Lobstacado sandwich and enjoyed their pickle margarita which is right up my salt-loving alley. I will continue to make it a point to come back here each time we visit because it is just that good!

If heard about this place for years and for some reason had it confused with a restaurant I didn’t care for and never went. Boy was I missing out! Beautiful dark wood and eclectic décor, and a beautiful bar area. Each entrée comes with a side dish and the salad, soup and bread bar. Make sure you go hungry! It wasn’t the most impressive salad bar I’ve ever seen but it certainly had plenty to chose from. I could just make a meal out of that! And the chilled plates were a nice touch. For dinner I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese because I had heard they had the best. While I’ve had better(shout out to Dave’s Marketplace!) it was really good and was LOADED with lobster claws. Not leg meat, or little scraps of knuckles, whole claws, in a creamy, sharp cheese sauce topped with a crumb topping.(Have I mentioned how much I love Mac and cheese?) For a side I got butternut squash and beets with Gorgonzola which doesn’t pair with lobster Mac and cheese at all, but it was such a unique combination I had to try it. I was not disappointed! The veggies were roasted and topped with the Gorgonzola which was melted on top. Check this place out! Even just sitting at the bar before out table was ready the place just as a cool vibe. I’ll defiantly be back.

I was very surprised how huge this place was when we first arrived! Luckily for us, they accommodated our large group very quickly once we got there! We all came for dinner and you could tell that this is a hot spot in Newport! The reason for the 4 stars has to be their Sirloin Steak Tips. Surprising, the beef was prepared perfectly, medium rare for me! The best pairing was the gorgonzola mashed potatoes with the steak. Outstanding! I also ate at the salad bar and it was pretty decent. You definitely get a good amount of food for the money. $ 21.95 for the plate and the unlimited salad bar seems expensive, but in the end, the quality of their food was surprisingly good. Great for groups and great for grub!

We arrived late in Newport and found that a lot of spots were closed or just really out of our budget. We came across this bar/restaurant on Unilocal and thought we would check it out. We got in an hour before they closed and were told the wait was one hour. We gave them our name, and headed upstairs to the bar to sit down(the one on the main level was packed). We checked out the menu upstairs(diff menu for the bar upstairs) and decided to have food at the bar. The bartenders were really nice and we had a decent time. My husband made his own burger and I got the bone marrow burger. I was disappointed at the teeny amount of bone marrow that was on the bone, and the burger was a bit boring, but the fries were tasty. We also shared a cup of chowder(which I hear is award winning) and we loved it. If you’re in town, check it out for kind service and pretty decent food(my husband loved his).

Went for lunch yesterday. I prefer lunch to dinner here because of the ease of getting a table. Dinner time is pretty busy, which is a good thing. However, it does mean you have to wait during the prime time rush. Not the best if you have small children. The menu is pretty extensive and everything I’ve ever had has been delicious. I’m not much of a salad person, but I must say their grilled chicken salad is awesome. You have to get the ranch dressing. I’m not sure why it’s so good, but it’s the best ranch dressing I’ve ever had. Price wise, a lunch for two was about $ 45 without adult beverages or apps. So it’s a little pricey. Brick alley is on a main area in Newport so parking is a bit tricky, and you may have to park a distance away.

Customer Service and food was excellent. Initially told 1.5 hour wait. So we headed up stairs for a drink and wings — both very good. We were seated down stairs within an hour and had an excellent and relaxing evening dinner. Appetizer of bone marrow was delicious, followed by two delicious entrees and great drinks.

One of the most popular restaurants in downtown Newport, me and my girlfriend once came to Newport during the summer month and tried to get lunch here and the line was out the door, so we decided to go elsewhere instead. This time, we went in early November for dinner on a Sunday and our party of 5 was seated right away! It pays to visit places during off seasons :) The decors here is very cool, it has an old, vintage, historic Newport kind of vibe, which probably attributes to its popularity. The drinks here are very well priced, they had $ 10 triple shot oversized martini, which was only slightly larger than a regular martini and was delicious. For appetizer, we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, which came with plenty of chips and was very tasty. For entrée, I got the USDA Prime Sedona burger, it was really big and well cooked, the beef patty needed more salt but other than that, it was a very solid burger with great chipotle aioli sauce, which I dumped all over my burger. My burger also came with complimentary fries, which was well cooked and tasty. When our bill came, I was surprised to see that our waitress took the liberty to split our bills with what each person owned, she even split the appetizer 5 ways so each person paid for 1⁄5 of the price of the app, something that I have never seen done at a restaurant before, A+ for service! All in all, brick alley is a popular burger point with a strong Unilocal presence, it has great décor, cheap drinks, decent food and great service, I will definitely visit here again.

Probably the best lobster roll I had while in Newport. Just the right balance between salty, and sweet, and atop soft toasted bread. Paired perfectly with some chowder. This place was busy as can be but we must have sat just in time, after us came a mob of people, service was good, had some good soup and a pasta, nothing blew me away as I can recall but everything was pretty solid. I would have liked a drink here and there but I feel they were too busy to pay attention.
