Had a great experience at this location of Angel Hair and Nails. Four of us popped in Friday afternoon and got 3 pedicures and a manicure. They all came out really good. The chairs are really comfy and give good massages, but they turn off quickly so you have to keep pressing the button on the remote to turn it back on. Wasn’t too bad, but tedious. The foot/leg massages they give you are so relaxing and longer compared to other places I have been to. Prices are more than other salons you will find elsewhere, but what do you expect? You are in Newport.

I recently got a pedicure here. I’m extremely disappointed because the nail tech cut my toes way too short and also cut the nail corners of my big toes. She even cut up the skin around my big toes. The skin is bright pink and swollen. Now I’m in pain and can not wear closed toe shoes for the next few days and have to worry about growing in grown nails. The tech was also pretty rude and when I left didn’t even acknowledge me when I said thank you and tipped 18%. I’m never going back. Definitely don’t recommend.

FILTHY, SLOPPYWORK, UNPROFESSIONAL. Untrained nail tec. Owner in Pajamas at noon. Watered down, dirty colors. Dirty work station. Hair everywhere. Dirty tools. Fearing infections. Vacationers/students BEWARE. Walked out with thick, blotchy, streaked light pink gel nails. Embarrassing on their part that they let a customer leave reflecting their work. There is a reason why this place is always empty. Should be shut down for being dirty and untrained.

Came into town and on a whim, on a stormy night in Newport I decided to go through with getting a manicure– at a random spot on Thames St. while my fiancé got tattooed down the block(sitting bull tattoo) I showed up an hour before they closed on a Saturday and the older man said it was fine to come in for a manicure. I picked my color and had the BEST experience. Quiet and relaxing. Attention giving and great looking nails. I am truthfully satisfied with the outcome. This place not only stayed open 2minutes late but put the best treatment on my nails and left them looking beautifully done. Thank you the 2 that stayed behind and let me add gratuity on my Card– I left way more than needed on a $ 15 manicure. Clean facilities. Great products. Totally worth it!

The weekend of my bachelorette party, my MOH and I went for pedis before a girls night out. We are from out of town and we’re staying in the area for the weekend. Thanks to Unilocal reviews and a quick walk by, we chose this place. Both of us got in right away, the massage chair was great, magazines galore and tons of nice polish colors in Essie and OPI. The pedicure was the best and although we didn’t have time for the deluxe pedi, I’ll be back for that! The regular spa pedi was awesome and all the people were friendly. I’ll be going back the next time I’m in Newport!

I wish I could give them a negative star review! I just wasted 3 hrs of my life! WORSTNAILSALONEXPERIENCEEVER!!! They suck!!! I had a small window to have my hands and feet done. When I booked they said both would take an hr and a half. 2 hrs into a really bad supposed set of gel tips, I’m realizing that not only are they putting ACRYLIC on my nails but the old woman(the owners mother) was either blind or retarded. I had to pay extra for them to clean up my cuticles, since when is this NOT included??? They wanted to charge me for a manicure AND a full set of gel. They applied tips and then cut them way too short… They fixed this by gluing another tip on the first tip!!! I only wanted a tiny bit of length which could have been built up with any product. At this point I’m fuming! I literally had to remove the file from the old lady’s hand and file my nails myself. After a lot of bitching the daughter stepped in and didn’t do much of a better job. I argued that I was given acrylic and she continued to try to convince me it was«gel powder» no UV was used to set the actual nail. The uv wasn’t used until they painted my nails(sloppily) to set the color. Needless to say they did not charge me and after 3 hrs I did not get a pedicure. I will tell everyone I know to stay far far away!!! So mad!

We are on vacation and headed out on a girl date which of course means getting some pedis. The salon is great! The girls are so warm, very friendly and lots of fun to chat with. They gave us places to eat and where to shop. My pedicure was done by Henry who was amazing! He took good care of my tired vacation feet! Very meticulous and thorough! Highly recommend you stop by!

Deon is a gem here — it’s worth it if she’s your nail tech… the others are scary dragon ladies. Selection is great, cleanliness is so-so. $ 40 for a mani-pedi and I’m happy with the quality.

Best pedicure I’ve had in Newport so far! The actually space itself is a little dingy and dated but you can’t beat the price and the good service.

Looks like there are some pretty mixed reviews on this place, so I wanted to share my experience. Great manicure from a friendly nail tech. I popped in on a Saturday, in Newport, in the summer, and was seated in 10 minutes. Only downsides — The color selection is a bit limited(luckily my favorite was there) and its a little bit pricier than what I’m used to paying in Boston.

Deon was the pedicure guru who took care of me last night — absolutely terrific service. She was so friendly and solicitous — a breath of fresh air during my search for a new nail place in Newport! She struck that perfect balance between conversation and quiet, and gladly dished on the local sights. Plus, she was completely receptive to any and all feedback!(You have to admit: most nail techs just DO … they’ve got their routines, and they’re not really looking for genuine feedback.) And for context: I called Angel Nails on Broadway and Star Nails on Bellevue to see if they could take a same day walk-in. The women who picked up the phone at both places were SOINCREDIBLYUNFRIENDLY — even though they both said«yes» — there was no way I’d feel comfortable letting them near my exposed feet. When I called Angel on Thames, though … the girl who picked up the phone sound friendly, alert, helpful — even happy! The choice was easy to make at that point.) And have you ever had a pedicure so awesome, you can’t help but continue to look down and marvel at the national treasure you’re rocking? Like, you want to charge admission for people to come and look at your now-so-cute feet? THAT’S WHATDEONGAVEME! With the paraffin heel treatment, it was just a little more expensive than I’m used to: $ 45 total, with the Deluxe treatment(scrub/massage/hot rock treatment/hot paraffin wax). But … the service was so diligent and detail-oriented, I thought it was money very well spent when I walked out. Keep up the fantastic work, ladies!

I come over to newport every summer and this is the place to get pampered. Henry gives the most relaxing pedicure and he’s very meticulous and detailed. Jenny did my nails and she was super friendly and did a great job. All the employees are super friendly and they catered to your need. Its a great location that provides everything from great massages to hair cut. I went to other nail salon before because i was in a hurry and that was a big mistakes. You can make appointments to make sure that your nails get done right and you are taken care of. Awesome place, I highly recommend it.

We were walking the city and walked by the shop and saw they had a mani-pedi special. I immediately took them up on the deal. After I was there for a few moments I knew this place was a gem. The ladies were amazing. I got a thorough foot/leg massage. They cleaned up my cuticles and shaped my nails very nice. I feel like I got a great value for the service I received. I would definitely come back when I’m in town. One more thing that I enjoyed… the ladies were very nice and sociable with me and with other clients. This is definitely a local favorite spot.

In desperate need of a pedicure, my girlfriend and I found this little mom and pop shop off of lower Thames(literally mom and pop). The place was small and cozy, its not your«spa» like atmosphere but that didn’t matter… because the nice couple who works there were extremely nice. Henry did my pedicure — OMG, this guy is like the pedicure guru. He was so thorough and gave me a wonderful massage that made me go, «Oh, Henry!» Ok, I didn’t but I did think about that candy. If you’re in town and need a great foot massage, Henry is your guy. Jenny did my manicure. She’s the daughter of the couple(family business). She works fast but is diligent. Polishes very well too. She told me that she’s seasonal. She is usually working during the summer months only. My friend had the mother, Lee working on her. She’s adorable. Apparently Lee is the master of acrylics because my girlfriend’s nails came out fantastic! We also learned that Lee does hair too! I guess its convenient when you need your hair and nails done. Definitely coming back here the next time I visit!

The people were friendly; they took their time and were very thorough and meticulous. I talked to them and they said they were a family owned business since 2001. The girl did a really good job on my toes.

My last pedi in Newport left me scarred… literally I can show you the spot on my left leg where the leg massage left me with a chemical burn. YIKES! Soooo due to lack of planning again I found myself desiring a pedicure but was in a right now not tomorrow kind of mood. So I walked down to Lower Thames to see what I would find… I noticed they have a very poor selection of OPI — it was one of those I should have brought my own color with me kind of moments… not wanting to say hey, your selection sucks I chose an electric blue color and was seated. The technician started ripping my cuticles apart wayyyyyy too early into the foot soak, I asked her to go gently because of a few banged up toes, and she obliged… but my first couple of toes felt like they were being assaulted and not pampered. I didn’t like how the woman who started my pedi, passed me off to one of the older gentleman who I didn’t even think worked there for my foot and leg massage… he then began painting my toes. He did an excellent job… that man was meticulous when it came to painting the piggies, and he did an excellent job finishing them up. Overall I can’t say i’d go back, but for $ 25 it was worth the money — I hope mr. foot rub was the one who got the $ 5.00 tip!
