WORST apartments EVER! I was lured to get this apartment by a friend and have regretted it everyday. This place had a slew of bugs everywhere and it did matter how many times they sprayed, the bugs just wouldn’t go away. When I moved into the apartment there were still other people’s things inside from cups in the dishwasher, worms in the fridge, and shirts in the washer. Aside from that they lie so bad. The maintenance doesn’t do there job well. One guy told me how it was flees in one building and no one was informed. They towed my car without a warning the other day and then got upset when I wouldn’t back down from her and lied to police about it. It’s a bunch of sick people here. The apartments aren’t nice. Nothing is updated at all. Save your money and move on.

Have to thoroughly agree with the other reviewer on this place. It was awful. The closet she wrote about garnered me a $ 200 credit on occupancy. The model apartment closet shown is NOTHING like what you end up with(blatant false advertising). It required me getting the local Regional Property Manager involved. Staff would do nothing. He issued the credit to keep be from terminating any agreement I had with them. Even then, staff behavior was that it was their generosity that allowed me to stay. The billing nonsense mentioned by the other reviewed is the charge to the tenant to cover their bookkeeping costs. There is a clause in the lease(requiring a lawyer to peruse and not mentioned by office staff) buried within rest of the legalese that management MIGHT(read, WILL) charge you for the billing done reference your rent. So you are not only paying your rent, you are paying their bookkeeper to bill you. During my occupancy, a quilt from the 1940’s was damaged by unsupervised outside contractors even though their lease states there will be no outside persons within your apartment without management supervision. An object placed on the quilt left a salad-plate sized grease stain. Management did, however, absorb the cost of cleaning, without, I might add, accepting any responsibility for allowing unsupervised persons in the apartment. All maintenance work took longer than necessary, probably because the maintenance staff were not informed in a timely manner. Apparently, actually working on behalf of the tenants was beyond the capability or requirements of the office staff. My tenancy was September 2012 to December 2013. Worse place in VA I have ever lived in and I have lived in VA for 37 of my 70 years. P. S. The joke of the mail delivery was also known by office staff but not relayed to the tenants who had to find out how poorly it was done through experience.

Absolutely terrible!!! This has been the worst apartment situation I have ever been in. I will start with the management. Management The management team that was here when my family moved in August 2014 was new, but welcoming. We had a smooth move-in and thought it was going to be a great place to live, however that changed quickly. Our washer didn’t work when we moved in and we put in a service request 3 times and spoke directly to management twice before anything was done about it. They told us each contact time that«it will be fixed within 48 hours». Then we kept getting written notices every few weeks that«walk-thrus» we’re going to be done. Total lack of privacy and quite frustrating. Around January 2015 a new management company came in to the community. I was relieved, until we misunderstood our two different rent bills– yes you get two different bills, and paid too little on our rent by change(less than a dollar). We were told it had to be paid or they would start the eviction process. Now, we are a struggling dual service veteran household with very small incomes. We were getting family assistance just to pay the rent and feed our two toddlers. We could pay this online with a $ 20 service fee or a money order, which cost an additional $ 1.50. I was frustrated, but I got the money order. February 2015, the same thing happens. I go to the rental office and I’m told I could write a check and the person who said we would be evicted was wrong. Ok– management get your info straight instead of causing undue stress. April 2015, my family gets a second car. I ask for a second parking spot in person. I was told by the lead manager they will get back to me quickly. Two weeks later my husband talks to the same lady and he is told someone dropped the ball and she will get back to him shortly. Liar and a blamer who can’t own up to her own mistake. One week later I’m on a business trip 700 miles away and I get a phone call from my husband, that our van(with our car seats) was towed from our PAID parking spot! When my husband went to the lead manager about it she said that should not have happened and she would fix it right away. 5 hours later my husband goes back to the office to find out what is going on. She hadn’t called the towing company yet. Again a liar. Finally, she told my husband he could go pick it up for free. Ok, that’s good, but how? He had no car seats and our second vehicle was at the airport. Fortunately, my mother lives in this community as well. May 2015, it is the 3rd day of the month and we have been out of town since April 30th at 5am. We have a $ 75 dollar late fee already. We are veterans, we get paid exactly on the 1st and we weren’t home. Oh and I’m not about to give $ 20 extra dollars to this horrible place in a online payment service fee. But, due to no grace period we have to pay $ 75 extra for such low standards of care and concern for the tenants? I will be visiting management tomorrow to terminate my lease. I’ve lived from low income apartments to luxury town homes and I have NEVER been so appalled at a management team. The community The grounds appear nice, but looks can be deceiving. There are drug deals that happen all of the time from the parking lots and playground. The children’s play place almost always has litter in it and once there was a mirror buried under a platform the kids jump off of– someone could have been seriously injured. The playground and dog park have no irrigation and when it rains it becomes one combined pond of urine and fecal matter soup… yea, I don’t my kids playing in that. Since the new management took over the quality of tenant behavior has diminished. It has gotten louder, dirtier, and people park in undesignated places making the parking lot dangerous and difficult to navigate(but you get towed from your own assigned spot). The units Paper thin walls, old appliances that keep breaking. We’ve had our stove break and our garbage disposal break twice. The garbage disposal is still broken, but that’s because making a service request and waiting for it to be done is more frustrating than just not having one. The layout in the 2br master bedroom is very odd, especially the awkward angle coat closet that is described as a walk in closet. I don’t believe the air ducts have ever been cleaned as running heat or AC leaves a thick layer of black dust on all surfaces in a single day. The hot water heaters are small, good luck if you have kids that like warm baths. Our kids closet smells like cat urine and we don’t own any cats. Definitely not worth $ 900+. Our last complex in San Diego, CA(not a cheap place to live) was 1200 very open and accommodating square feet, it had a fabulous manager that got to know all of her tenants in a complex with over 150 units, and maintenance was so on point you could message their duty phones 24⁄7 to get your request met same day. Shame on Windsor Crossing for even thinking they are a «luxury community».
