When I read the reviews I was so excited to try this place. One of the biggest culinary regrets of my life. I called to make sure they had gluten-free soy sauce. They informed me that they do and I happily drove from Williamsburg. I ordered chicken drunken noodles. When I opened my take out box I was shocked. There were noodles and chicken swimming in some sort of liquid. I have never seen drunken noodles look so repulsive. I was starving so I gave the dish a try. It tasted worse than it looked. The rice noodles were disgusting and not fresh. The dish was not spicy as requested. I felt like I threw my money down the drain. We will never be coming back again.

I had the Coconut Soup with Chicken, one of the best soups I’ve tasted, until I tried my friends Lemongrass Soup with Chicken which was even better! My friends Drunken Noodles were good, I’ve never had them before either. I preferred my dish, the Cashew Chicken. Our service was good and I look forward to coming back.

My coworker and I went to lunch one day at Thaijindesu. We both love Thai food and were excited to find something so close to work we could stop by and eat some good Thai food. We were so disappointed. She ordered vegetarian pad thai and I ordered drunken noodles(my go to at every new Thai restaurant). My drunken noodles looked and tasted like bad chinese take out. It had so much tasteless, watery gravy. Maybe drunken noodles comes in many different forms but this form was very unappetizing. Even my noodles stuck together into 3 – 4 giant globs of noodle-y dough. I will not be coming here again.

Awesome red curry, awesome woo sen(glass) noodles, awesome awesome appetizers that feature shrimp(example– shrimp bikinis). This is also the best shrimp tempura roll I’ve hard in the Newport News area. The outdoor area to eat is very chill and relaxing. All around great place.

Yummmmm! Two of the best sushi rolls are the dr tom and some other name that I can’t recall but has a mans name in it, lol. The thaijin platter is a great appetizer, and the pineapple rice is awesome. Love the atmosphere as well

For the price and service I give this place 5 stars. I would say it is slightly above average in pricing, but the food is also very good. I brought a party of 7 there for a friends birthday and they were very attentive. I appreciated their help and genuine concern that we had a nice dinner. The atmosphere is just a step above casual and the menu has a fair selection of items. There is also a sushi bar. They have a Japanese and Thai menu. I definitely would suggest this place. I actually want to thank them for a job well done when I went there.(P.S.-for those that care, they do offer gluten free options.)

Do you love Thai food and in the East VA area? COMEHERE. My co-workers have been telling me to come here for the past month and this past week I finally was able to find myself walking through the doors of Thaijindesu. Table for one? Yes, please! Order enough food for 3? Yes, ma’am! Chicken Satay($ 6) — Since I knew I was going to be getting tofu for my main meal, I wanted to get some protein in some way in my meal and I opted for the chicken satay. What can I say, it tasted like chicken satay. The chicken wasn’t burnt and the peanut sauce that you dip it in was a great combo. I’ve had these types of appetizers in NYC for double the price. Fresh rolls($ 6) — I LOVE spring rolls. Whenever I get Vietnamese or Thai food I have to get spring rolls. Can’t complain about spring rolls… not gonna start now. For $ 6 it was definitely worth the money. Tofu Pad Se Eew($ 12) — The tofu. THETOFU. It was so soft… it tasted like I was eating pillows. One of the best pad se eews I’ve had in a long time. It wasn’t overly salty and they weren’t stingy on the tofu to noodle ratio. The only thing I would change is putting more broccoli in the stir fry. On the other hand, I love my broccoli and a broccoli fiend so I will never say no to more greens on my plate. Golden Bananas w/green tea ice cream($ 5) — Could I have skipped this dessert? Yes, I definitely could have… but I love green tea ice cream and when I asked what types of ice cream they had I couldn’t say no! The bananas wrapped in the egg roll was a weird combination… not a big fan of warm bananas, but let’s be honest I just got the dish to get some ice cream. Let’s not forget the service was beyond outstanding too. For a full restaurant, I never felt like I was waiting on food and there were multiple waiters going around filling up drinks and asking how the food was. Everyone had a huge smile on their face, and asked how I liked everything. Talk about hospitality! *Side note: Another one of my co-workers came here for sushi the other day and wasn’t too impressed. I’d stick to the Thai menu, there’s plenty to choose from!

The waitress was attentive, our glasses never went a few seconds without being filled, and the ambiance was great. I really liked it here. We got a couple of appetizers(fresh spring rolls and calamari) to start out. Let me just say that the calamari was hands down the best I’ve ever had. EVER. It wasn’t too rubbery, the flavor was amazing, and the Sriracha sauce added a good zing. The spring rolls were sweeter, and once again, the texture was on point. Fast forward to our meals. I got the Chicken pad Thai, which I really enjoyed, and H got the whole Snapper in Chili sauce, on special. His fish was outstanding. The flavor, the spice, the presentation; everything was great. The only downfall was finding out too late that the«special» was $ 30. Normally a special means it’s a better price, while this was not the case here. When asking about the specials, I suggest asking price so you know what you’re getting yourself into. Other than that, our first experience here was great.

First visit to this Restaurant for sushi. An avid sushi eater. I ordered spring rolls with dipping sauce and crunchy spicy shrimp. I did not care for either of these rolls.

I’ve been here several times before, just writing a review now. Went a few days ago with a friend for dinner, were seated promptly and it looked the restaurant was getting pretty full. I ordered the Chicken Satay appetizer and you can notice the curry powder they put on it. The dipping sauces they give with it were delicious, the chicken was cooked tender and nice. For my entrée I ordered the Tofu Holy Basil, I wish it were a bit spicier, but overall the flavor was good and the tofu was cooked nicely. Service was great and the interior fits the restaurant theme. Highly recommend.

Service was amazing. The Mardi Gras role is amazing. For the entrée, I ordered the shrimp pad Thai. I had to box up ½ of it. It was delicious. What ever you do, do not skip dessert. The banana Tempora with red bean ice cream is too die for. I’ve been going to this restaurant for years. And I continue to crave for their food.

The Holy Basil is a solid dish. Also had their seaweed salad which is crisp and garnished with lemon to give it that extra kick. I’ve also enjoyed their pad thai as well which is authentic and great! The holy Basil dish takes the cake for being the best. Also had a a Thai Iced tea, can’t go wrong with one of those! My husband and I sat outside and were promptly served and attended to. Great location in Port Warwich, perfect to have dinner outside when they have the concerts on the lawn. Have not tried their sushi so cannot speak to the quality of that!

The waitress brought out the wrong orders. The food was very plain and over priced. My boyfriend also got food poisoning from his dish. I recommend going to Thai Erwin down the street instead if you want authentic Thai food that won’t make you sick.

Love Thai food. Pad Thai portions are huge Could feed 2 people I always get the chicken. The drunken noodles are the best. Always ask for stir fried because if you dont it comes out in this soup form… I always choose beef with this option. As for appetizers Ive had their crab rangoon. Eggrolls. And chicken patay All very expensive considering the amount of food served. Out of the 3 I would recommend the chicken. Patay. 4 small pieces of chicken on a stick. Served with two kinds of sauces. One is sweet and sort of vinegar like The other has a kick to it both good with the chicken.

I really enjoyed my holy basil tofu dinner and the crispy spring rolls. The waitress was attentive with water refills and getting our order. I was a bit confused that Unilocal marked this place kid friendly. They didn’t have a kids menu. However our entrees were more than accommodating to share with our 3 year old. I was just baffled by that. I felt a little out of place by having my daughter there. It’s very beautifully decorated. I would come back or order take out if we don’t have a babysitter.

I came in on a Sat night in the mood for sushi. I was seated right away at the bar and ordered the bikini prawns appetizer and Bangkok cocktail to drink. Both were very good. For sushi, I had the Kobe? Roll with deep fried tuna, crab and avacado. It tasted very good and was very filling. The sushi chef made sure everything tasted fine for me. I will definitely come back and try the Thai menu next time!

Impressive to say the least! This part of Virginia seems more like a who’s who of crappy fast food but thanks to Unilocal,we were able to locate this restaurant and have a great experience to boot. We arrived around 8:30 on a Friday, although it was busy we didn’t wait at all for a table. I thought about reservations but because we had such a long drive from Boston, I wasn’t sure we would make it in time. I’m glad there wasn’t a lengthy wait because of our timing issues, I bet if you arrived between 6:30 — 7:30, you wouldn’t be seated right away on a weekend so be prepared for that, it’s not a large restaurant. The bar was fairly full as well which is on your left as you walk in. Our party of four decided to begin the meal with crab & pork, steamed dumplings. They were chocked full of crab and balanced perfectly with the pig. There were six in the order and they did not last very long as everyone tried at least one and not a criticism at all about flavor. I personally ordered the pineapple fried rice as an entrée. Normally, I am more adventurous and was leaning towards either the drunken noodles or a duck dish… I went with this rice entrée because I am a total sucker for the presentation in a half of a pineapple(pic uploaded). The balance was symbiotic and it had just the right about of veggies to sweetness ratio, the chicken was tender albeit not very flavorful. If I ever go back, I’d order it again in a heartbeat. My S/O had the panang curry and asked them to replace meat with steamed tofu which they happily obliged. They were also nice enough to ask about spice level which she is not a fan, it had zero heat. I tried a few bites, it was creamy with coconut and the tofu was tender. Numerous vegetables swam in the milky broth and it came with a small amount of white rice to ladle the broth and goods over. The only issue I had with our entire experience was when the wifey wanted to take home her leftovers but was out of white rice. The waitress was happy to offer us «extra» rice to take home with it. It would have been nice for her to say what the price would be. $ 2 isn’t much but we thought they were just throwing in a little extra for us and the serving size isn’t worth $ 2 when I could make 10 cents of the same amount of rice myself.
