American Oldies Records

More records than you can imagine. A very impressive selection of used records with fair prices. Nothing is overpriced, in fact there are a few gems that I’ve seen go for very little. I never leave without buying something. Friendly service, listening stations, and bargain bins are a plus. They buy, sell and trade CDs and vinyl. My only nag was that the 12″ (singles) section wasn’t alphabetized. I’ll always come back here whenever I’m in town.

Came here once or twice with a friend of mine, and easily could’ve stayed for hours looking through things. The old guy that was working was pretty awesome and friendly. Never new this place was even here even though it’s right off of Warwick, but glad I do now. Anyone looking for old records should def check this place out, chances are you won’t leave empty handed.

Such a good shop… Lots of Vinyl. (not a lot of newer stuff, or indie, metal etc) but if you’re looking for rock, soul, r&b, etc… this place has TONS! I’ve spent hours digging through the 45’s to find some GEMS for my 80’s night…
** I will say they RARELY get anything new in, but it’s def. worth a one time a year visit.
NOT a place you want to regularly visit.

What a great place to make you feel old and young at the same time! Old because you actually know that familiar smell of vinyl. Young because you get taken back to the old days when all there was were those platters of crackling, snapping tunage spitting out the classics!
When you pop into this place, you could be overwhelmed by the number of records that await you; the only drawback, they may not be where you find them. There are literally thousands of unordered, uncategorized, unpriced records in crates along the floor. However, these are where the coolest finds are.
The best part? Take your haul to the front and I guarantee that the proprietor will make you a deal you can’t refuse.

By far the best record store in Hampton Roads. Be sure you say hi to Chuck when you go there. He has the most extensive knowledge of the blues around. If they don’t have it, he and the rest of the superb staff will find it for you. Definitely worth a trip out of the way!

Be sure to eat before you come here or bring a sandwich with you because shopping here is an all day proposition. They have an immense vinyl collection some of which is sorted… It’s fun to sift through the unsorted boxes and bins. Also, most items are unpriced so checkout is a bit nerve wracking but I’ve always walked away feeling that I’ve been treated fairly.
