Love this place! I have ordered the cutest baby gifts and turkish towels and am always happy with the final products. Kathleen is the sweetest and they have a great selection. Love the location on Balboa Island too!

I have just returned home after picking up my second Monogramming from Sandcastle Monogramming. Unfortunately, both times I have not been fully satisfied with the out come. The first time it was for my son’s high school sweatshirt. I wanted his last name placed on the hood and the thread color to match one the colors of stitching already on the sweatshirt. When I requested the thread color to match, it didn’t seem to be a problem and my order was taken and paid for. I do not remember the employees name. The following week I went to pick up the sweatshirt and also brought two pink Turkish towels for Monogramming for a baby shower gift. I waited patiently for at least 20 minutes while Sunny finished with her customer. There was no other employee to help me. After Sunny was finished with her previous customer I started with my current Monogramming order of the pink Turkish towels, 2 of them. After taking short time to discuss options I settled on «Commerce Script» with upper and lower case with the recipients last name on the towels. Never had I been instructed by Sunny to look at each letter before preceding. I wish I had done this myself but I haven’t had many items monogrammed so I looked at the example in their book. The example that I notice was typed, «Commerce Script» in that corresponding font. It looked very nice so I proceeded and paid for my second order. I then asked for my first order which was my sons sweatshirt. I noticed at first glance something didn’t seem right but it was so slight I couldn’t figure it out. Our name was spelled correctly but it wasn’t as I had hoped. I took the sweatshirt and proceeded out the door. As I was walking I realized that the thread color wasn’t as was discussed at time of purchase. The monogrammed thread color was not the color of one of the stitchings already on the sweatshirt. The color thread that was used was the color of the sweatshirt itself! This was not the look I was wanting nor as we had discussed but not the end of the world and wasn’t worth my time to deal with. My reasoning was the sweatshirt was useable and too much time and energy to make the sweatshirt as we had discussed. Then I went today to pick up my pink Turkish towels for my baby shower gift. Sunny was there and she handed me my monogrammed towels. I notice quickly that the«lowercase p» didn’t look like a «p» at all so I politely brought this to her attention and she mention that it was based off the font I had chosen. I realized that I didn’t look at each individual letter before making the final ok for purchased. My mistake and this very unfortunate because I cannot give these as a gift now and my money and my time is waisted. I went home and called Sunny and politely made mention for future customers to bring this to their attention before proceeding. To either make sure they look at ALL letters or even better, maybe bring a little knowledge that not all resemble their actual letters in certain fonts. In fact while Sancastle employees are polite, I didn’t find them to be very knowledgeable or really engaging regarding various styles, colors or sizes of fonts. As I mentioned I haven’t had a lot items monogrammed and a little expertise would have been appreciated. Anyway, as I was mentioning to Sunny to my concern she said, «well we went over each letter at the time.» I replied actually that wasn’t the case. Together we did not go over each letter and how they looked. I then mentioned my sweatshirt monogram. I wasn’t asking for a refund or anything like that, I just wanted her to know that it wasn’t as discussed and my purchases weren’t as I had hoped. I was blaming or angry, I just wanted to be acknowledged. Her voice was polite but irritated. In the end her last response was this: there were other Monogramming stores in Newport/Cost Mesa on 17th street that I could use in the future. Basically saying to me take your business elsewhere. That’s when I decide to write this review. If you decide to use this business I would suggest you proceed carefully to ensure what your are ordering is what you will be getting. Frances I’ve enclosed a picture of the finished work of my monogrammed pink towels.

Needed to have my daughters diaper bags monogrammed and thought I’d try this place out. It’s right next to Starbucks. They staff is super nice, they get the job done in a timely manner(couple days) and it looks amazing! I highly recommend this place for all your monogramming needs. Oh and they have tons of colors and font styles to choose from which is awesome!

This shop shows no respect towards the costumers. The workers are so rude even to a young teen ager. If they want costumers they better change their attitude. when asked to have done a name monogramed on something, instead of getting it in one week we recived it in nine. i would not recomend attending this store!

Great place to go and get a personalized gift for your loved one. I have to admit I have a slight bias, I am old family friends with the owner of Sandcastle Monogramming. But that only means i use them more often and have more reasons to give them 5 stars, all of which the justly deserve. One thing I love about Sandcastle Monogram is that you can choose from their huge selection of towels, bathrobes, aprons, bibs, and all sorts of other things. Or, if you like, you can bring in your own and just have them Monogramed. This is exactly what I did last year for my Mom for Mothers Day. I went to Bloomingdales and bought her a whole new set of lush bath towels(the whole nine yards; hand towels, dish towels, wash clothes, large towels) and had them all monogram with her initials. White towles with some beautiful baby blue stitch work. She absolutely loved them! I would not hesitate in reccomending Sandcastle Monogramming to you. It’s simple, chic, and adds a personal and heartfelt touch thats hard to be matched elsewhere.
