Simply the best brioche I have ever had, but you had better stop in early, they sell out fast. Quaint and intimate with friendly service… the most difficult decision is ‘what to try.‘ I think I have sampled it all without a single disappointment. The Rendez Vous is a favorite of local Corona del Mar residents and visitors.

The chocolate almond croissants are our fav, along with the yummy chocolate beignets can be quite addictive! With decent lunch menu, all sorts of mouthwatering desserts, and friendly service, before or after each visit here, we have to go to the Sherman Library and Garden, or the Fashion island, or Balboa Island, or take a stroll in Corona Del Mar to try to walk the extra calories off!

These crepes were super yummy and they hit the spot. Delicious! We have been to France and this was very close to what we had while we were there. I highly suggest that you go and eat at this place because you won’t regret it. Their service was impeccable and made it even better.

Came here for brunch with a friend and I ordered a cinnamon apple crêpe. The service was accommodating which I appreciate. However the quantity in the crêpe was so little for its price. I don’t think I would be back here again, in my opinion, nothing special.

Why go to France — save yourselves the price of the air ticket, the jetlag, the struggle with language, the inconvenience of taking too many days off work and having to come back to a pile of emails… This little café is just a short drive away and is a little paradise celebrating everything you hope to indulge in while in France, but without the trouble of actually going there. It is the absolutely best pattisserie you can wish for. Every single item on the menu is heaven.

Perhaps the best chocolate croissant I’ve had. Of course the peach croissant and raisin brioche were absolutely delectable, and the Chocolate Royal(rich hot chocolate topped with a tower of whipped cream) must not be missed. Delicious. Also check out the crêpes(both sweet and savory) and baguette sandwiches. The proprietors, Olivier and Natalie are transplants from Provence, and you can taste the authenticity. Everything is from scratch. Don’t miss it.

This was my second time here and their desserts are absolutely delicious! I love the atmosphere and the look of this café; it’s quiet and has a nice relaxed feel to it! Last time I got the almond croissant which was good but today I tried the cinnamon beignet and it was freaking amazing! It was my first time having a beignet and let me tell you, it was the softest and fluffiest dessert ever that made me want more! Honestly regretted not getting another one. As for the chai, that was perfectly sweetened and had the best amount of chai flavor to it. I love this place, wish it wasn’t so far from me!

This cute café is very cute and delicious! I have been here two times and they have been great! The service is very good and the owners are very nice. They have sandwiches to freshly made pastries served daily. The location is great for brunch and a good relaxing place to eat in general! A recommendation for pasta lovers is, the bolognese which might be the best I have ever had! Also, for a snack, the almond croissant is very good! Overall, I’ve had no bad experiences here and I am definitely coming back!

I don’t get the over inflated reviews. I ate here, found hair in my food and several people in our party came down with a stomach bug after eating their side salad(probably the dressing). When I approached the staff about several strands of hair in food, the older French lady who seems to be the owner was INCREDIBLYRUDE, causing a scene, basically yelling! That attitude is not appropriate and made us and other patrons uncomfortable. The food was just ok. But not worth the lack of sanitary practices, and they over charged us. So many other great finds in the area, including Pain De Monde, Panini Café, True Foods, Rose’s. You deserve a professional establishment and clean food.

I was looking for a brunch spot that had crepes and came across Rendez Vous. Its a small hole in the wall on PCH in Corona Del Mar. They have a patio in the front that allows dogs, which was also a plus. When you enter, you order at the cash register and they bring you the food. Nice waiters and solid overall service. I knew I probably wouldn’t be back soon since its a bit out of the way, so I ordered A LOT of food. Between my wife and I we had: Le ham and cheese — Ham and guyere cheese panini with fries. The cheese in the sandwich was amazing. The fries were also amazing. The rest of the sandwich was just okay. Strawberry crêpe — My wife ordered this and I had a few bites. Not bad Ham and Brie Omellete — This was by far my favorite dish. First time I’ve had an omelette with Brie, and would love to have this again. Mocha Frappé — People really seem to like the coffee drinks, but I wasn’t a big fan. There was too much foam, which I could have done without. Overall solid spot

My wife and I think this place is freaking amazing for the following reasons(in no particular order). 1. It is French-Family owned — You’ll see mom in the kitchen, working her magic. Sons up in the front, polite and they make great recommendations. Dad helping out in both areas. 2. Amazing French coffee drinks — we tried one of their mint Frappes and it was delicious with subtle mint flavor behind a rich coffee taste. 3. Their sandwiches use fresh ingredients and I am willing to bet they bake their own bread in the mornings. 4. They allowed us to modify their amazing almond crêpe. Instead of seared pear, we asked for bananas and strawberries and it went perfectly with their almond cream sauce. I cannot wait to take my wife back here for dinner to try out their beef bourguignon. I also want to try some foie gras next time!

Had a few friends visiting from out of town and thought that this would be a nice brunch spot. It definitely did not disappoint as the menu had a nice selection of French fare and a display of tempting desserts(interestingly, they also have savory macarons). It’s a bit small inside but there is some outside seating. Luckily, my friends and I were able to find a table inside. It was slightly busy and we all had to wait a bit for out table to get wiped down and cleared off but the staff was really nice about it. For the food, I ended up getting the gruyère, salmon, and dill omelette that came with a side of bread and a fruit skewer along with a raspberry mocha with chantilly cream. I really enjoyed the nice, subtle flavors of the omelette and creamy, richness of the raspberry mocha. My friends seemed to enjoy everything they ordered as well. At the end of the meal, I decided to take home a Versailles(chocolate mousse with crème brûlée and hazelnut bottom) and it was delicious! Overall, I’d definitely come back again and take a closer look at their dessert and pastry selection along with their other entrees!

Paris has just gotten a lot closer to home. This authentic French bakery and café was a gem, discovered almost by pure luck on a rare summer-like day in February along the PCH in Newport Beach. Apparently, the owners are a French couple who also work at the counter and the kitchen. It’s delightful to walk into a French café where people who work there actually speak French. We weren’t too hungry so we only sampled a few things. The crêpe with almond cream was wonderful. The almond cream was rich and refreshing, and tasted like it was freshly made. The texture of the crêpe was soft, unlike the slightly chewy ones that we had in Paris, but we still liked it a lot. The vegetable soup was a French style blender soup and it was absolutely delicious. Ham and cheese panini was awesome, freshly grilled with real butter and served very hot. The ham was good quality meat and the gruyère cheese complemented the sandwich perfectly well. Thank you for bringing Paris closer to home. I’ll be there again soon to try their many other items. À bientôt!

La crêpe était incroyable. La baguette de dinde mozzarella était excellent. Il est sincère et authentique café français. Le turkey mozzarella sandwich was excellent, with it’s fresh cheese in a warm baguette. I supplemented mine with their homemade hot sauce. While not spicy, it added good flavor with its vinegar base, which complemented the olive oil essence in the sandwich perfectly. The crepes are delicious as well. The Classic Brie crêpe featured soft melted French Brie. For a heartier option, try the one with the chicken, cheese, mushrooms and white sauce. It’s not overly creamy which allows it to blend with the melted cheese at a good consistency. I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the menu.
