This review is for Marina Arnold, the R.N. that does laser resurfacing and hair removal in this office.
Let me start by saying that I wish people would REALLY do their research before they mess with any kind of laser or hair removal. There are SOOOOO many horrible reviews on the internet, and some of them are truly heartbreaking. If you think getting a ‘Groupon’ type deal for something like this is a good idea, please remember: this is your FACE!
Marina is very skillfuly trained and has years and years of experience. I walked into her office and my face was a MESS from rosacea. Many broken capillaries (some so bad they looked like dark post acne marks under my make-​up), inflammation and a lot of redness.
As soon as you see her, you will be very envious of her complexion alone. It’s so gorgeous! And she will be the first to tell you that she is a walking picture of the work she does… she has had it done so she knows what her patients are about to endure and is realistic about their expectations.
The first 2 times I went I had the IPL fotofacial… and she didn’t say «you need to purchase this many in advance». blah blah blah like you hear from other places. She recommended visit-​to-​visit sessions. My first one, I was super scared because, well, it’s a little uncomfortable and you really don’t know what to expect. I was in and out in 30 minutes… I came in with blotchy, red skin and left with a beautiful glow. She also took the liberty of ‘shaping’ my face– she shaved bit of hair along my forehead a sideburns (the laser impedes/​slows future hair growth) and my face looked so much brighter from that alone. If I had wanted to, I could have gone right back to work, but I chose to stay home and see what happened.
By morning, I awoke to a whole new complexion. And it just got better and better as the next month and a half went by. I then went back, and had another session, which this time concentrated on other area of capillaries that hadn’t quite taken all the way (say, around my nose, where they are really tough). This time she popped out the YAG laser and blasted a few spots. That laser was a little more uncomfortable, but very tolerable. That session I left a little more red than the first but it subsided within a few hours. Next day– beautiful, glowy VERY CLEAR skin.
And for the next 5 years, my skin was PERFECT. It really managed my acne and my rosacea. Recently, I have went back, and my face was a disaster (aging, quit smoking, stress, stopping birth control. the list goes on and on). She has a wonderful gift of looking at you and saying «ok this is what you need…» and it’s done perfectly. This time I had the IPL and a few ‘touch spots’ of the Fraxel laser done on some post-​acne scars. They lightened immediatley. My face looked 30% different from the time I walked in and the time I walked out. This time I had to take a few days off of work, but I can’t wait to see the full effect. She has literally saved my self-​esteem, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
The thing with her is she is very olive complected herself, so she is VERY familiar with working with people with skin tones other than white. The problem with lasers is if it’s done wrong, you will be left with hyper or hypopigmentation that you will NEVER be able to fix. I know she used to teach people how to use the lasers, so you know she is the real deal.
I look forward getting laser hair removal in the future, as I am thrilled with the results from the IPL’s.
If you are considering getting this done, PLEASE do your research… but do know that if you are considering this place, it is truly the BEST for any type of laser resurfacing. It was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY!
