I always stop at this spot whenever we come out to Newport Beach. They usually have a great selection, though the last time I went there was a delayed shipment and they were severely under-stocked. Plus most of the taffy that they did have was pretty melted, which was a bummer. Hopefully that was a one time thing.

On a recent trip to Balboa, I found this place and I now am hooked! The taffy is great here. I think this was their last summer in the shop but I will deff. be ordering their taffy from the website. It was tastey and chewey just what taffy should be! If you get a chace try this salt water taffy, if you are a taffy fan you will not be dissapointed.

Salt Water Taffy. Mmmm! I didn’t realize how great you are until now. Thank you, Mifflin!!! We just spent a beautiful, sunny day out at Newport Beach(AKA Balboa Beach). Our bodies were full of sand & a nice creamy tan touched by the friendly sun from being out all morning. We longed for something cool & refreshing to drink. Walking back to the car we see a cute little corner store shop that said exactly that, «cool & refreshing drinks here». I set my gaze a little higher, and there I read, «Salt Water Taffy». I’ve never had taffy, so I was curious. Mifflin’s provides one taffy taste per person. It cost about $ 7 for a ¾ pound bag of assorted flavors. Mifflin’s offers watermelon, neopolitan, butter rum, coffee, orange sherbert, vanilla, bubblegum, root beer, etc. They were all so chewy, gooey, satisfying, and good! Bottom line: Where have I been all this time??? Yay for taffy! I am going to add it to my list of sweet & favorite goodies. Yum! I even forgot to purchase that something«cool & refreshing» to drink. =( Tip: *They only accept cash.

Very cool place. A bunch of old school candies and old old school candies. They’ve got a lot of salt water taffy. The candy is slightly expensive. There was a girl buying a some candy and when the price rang up, her boyfriend exclaimed, «WHAT! 19DOLLARSFORSOMECANDY!?» Funny =). Great people, good old school candy and sodas. They also have Jolt there, which is a soda pop that has 2x more caffeine.

I love this place. The owner is totally nice. The Taffy tastes like it’s made from the hand of God.

Tucked away on Palm –right off Newport Blvd-is Mifflin’s Salt Water Taffy. My kids and I make this a regular stop when we’re at the beach. Our favorite flavor is watermelon-it rarely lasts the 60 mile drive home! We have family members back east that also clammer for this as well… it’s hard to find salt water taffy in the landlocked parts of the country! Dennis Mifflin is the second generation owner and has kept the business in the family. My son loves the free samples they give and has even been allowed to hand them out on the sidewalks out front to passer-bys. Great for anyone with a sweet tooth!
