I absolutely adored this little book store. It was small, intimate and charming with a warm ambiance and a thoughtful array of books beautifully displayed around the store. I found the owner, Dan, very kind, well read and extremely helpful. Because of the bookstore’s gorgeous location near the water, it reminded me a bit of Nantucket. It feels good to support a local, independent bookstore. This one’s my new favorite!

Lido Village Books is a small location but worth visiting if you’re a fan of bookstores and supporting a local business. The older man with glasses who I often see there, who I’m assuming is the owner, is incredibly kind and welcoming. The area the bookstore is located in is currently being renovated so there isn’t much else to see here at this time, but apparently within the year there should be a café, and other shops to enjoy. If you choose to visit now though it’s at least near the water so you can take a walk around the harbor where the yachts are parked if you want. Due to this area being so dead, there is much speculation as to how this lovely bookstore has stayed open so long. Running theories include someone incredibly wealthy owns it and keeps it running out of their own wallet or they take donations for the wealthy locals who appreciate literature. I think the latter story is most sweet so that’s what I side with.

Wonderful personal bookshop with an intelligent and engaged owner. Having been in the book trade as retailer, publisher, editor and literary agent, books and how they are loved by those who handle them, I can vouch for this.

This is such a cute store. It may be small, but it is filled to the brim with new books. They have such a wide variety of books. The owner of the book store was ready to help me find what ever I was looking for. If I’m back in the area again, I’ll be sure to stop by here!

There is something to be said when all the surrounding stores are boarded up and the only remaining one is a bookstore. The perfect collection of books with reviews from the staff and an owner who is simply charming! It was a joy to buy books from Lido Village Books. I may be from Maryland but I’ll definitely be returning to this establishment.

It’s tiny and kinda hard to get to but there’s always been a good selection and good conversation with the owner, Dan.

To find a local community bookstore like Lido Village Books is truly a treasure in the commercialized shopping centers that we have all been through. I was lucky enough to work here for a few months two years ago, and came to know the family of business owners and workers that work in Lido village quite well. Dan’s(owner) integrity, honesty and service not only to his customers but to the community around him showed in the warm greetings of everyone that happened to walk in. One the best business’ that I have worked for so far, and my memories and this quaint bookstore will stay with me forever. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, do take the moment to stop by.

A tiny, quaint bookstore in Lido Village. There is no parking so drive around the corner to the structure or walk from across the street. Dan, the owner, is very nice and helpful. Support your local business and independent bookstores.
