I came to Dr Scott via a referral from my oncologist. He thought I might have an endocrine system problem. I was given a Cortisol stimulation test and the results showed my cortisol level was low and she said I had hypopituitariaism with secondary adrenal insufficiency. Also had brain scan which showed a small growth on the back side of my pituitary gland. A neurologist told me not to worry about that since growth on back and not front is not problem. She put me on high doses of prednisone and within about 4 – 5 months my osteoporosis got so bad my pelvis broke with 2 fractures. My husband takes me to see her while I’m on a walker. I asked her if I could go down in my prednisone amount. .said probably not much. I complained that I had a broken pelvis. She nonchalantly said«Yeah you’re going to break some bones.» With that my husband got up and walked out. I was shocked by what she said. When I stumbled out my husband said«You’re never going back to her.» I said«You’re right… I’m never going back to see her.» I went to another endocrinologist. He saw my broken body, bloated face, thin skin with multiple bruises, etc. Immediately he said he was going to get me off prednisone, asked if I had had a second test(I said No) and felt she had misdiagnosed me. That with her diagnosis I would have low blood pressure but I always had had high blood pressure. After he got me completely off prednisone he gave me another cortisol stim. Test. It came back perfectly normal. She gave me all that prednisone for nothing and it broke my pelvis along with numerous other side effects.
