Happy hour and taco Tuesday is great. But the service sucks. The waitress I had today forgot everything I asked her for. I got over it after a while but really needed water so I had to ask her a couple times until she got it. The limes my bf asked for never came though. I tasted the cucumber margarita today and it was so watered down I felt like I was just drinking water. The waitress barely checked on us and just to top it off once we needed the check she gave it to us after a while then after the money was put in my bfs arm was on the checkbook and she came to ask if we were done. He said yes thinking she meant the margarita so she yanked it from under his arm. That was completely rude. Waitresses aren’t even supposed to take the book until someone is done eating!!! Idk if she was new but she sure acted like it. Unfortunately I never got her name but she was tall and had long black hair that wasn’t even tied up

Environment is a typical marg, casual Americanized Mexican restaurant/​bar. It’s pretty noisy, but there’s large windows if you like to people watch.
We had a large marg, 36oz, in one of those large marg cups and it cost a little under $ 20. Def enough for two people.
Our server was friendly and was attentive enough to refill our waters twice.
But there wasn’t anything special about this place and not really clean or anything. I don’t really care for places like these but may be a good environment to watch games since there are big screen tvs above and for the party/​bar scene.

Old grumpy bartender. If you’re that upset about being in the industry, simply find another job. Horrible representation of a business.

Our Bride to be wanted to enjoy her bachelorette party at Cabo Cantina last Saturday 2-​6-​2016 we had a group of 6 and had great service! our server was Taylor her energy to our group and surrounding customers was awesome! Our Nachos were amazing
So i would definitely recommend those to share !

Came on Tuesday not specifically for Taco Tuesday but for a drink. Jason, our bartender came off really racist. For a Mexican Grill and Bar he didn’t seem to like Mexicans. Never going there again, and I don’t recommend if you’re different ethnicity other than «Newport Beach rich area» the way he describes it.

I’ve been to Cabo Cantina only for taco Tuesday, but I was in dire need of happy hour. I thought what better place than Cabo? I rounded up my roommates and off we went.
Upon arrival there were a few tables taken, but it wasn’t crowded. We picked a table and briefly looked over the menu. I was mostly coming for the margaritas and couldn’t pass up the two for one offer.
I went with the Puerto Vallarta margarita opted for patron instead of house tequila. The margarita was good, but not as strong as I like. Next time I’ll ask for an extra shot.
I ordered the nachos for $ 9 and added steak for $ 3. The price isn’t bad for the massive amount of nachos you get. My only gripe is there were more beans than steak.
My roommate ordered wings that came with no sauce and weren’t very good. The manager came over to check on us and the wing situation. He was nice enough to take them off the tab without us even asking.
One of my roommates ordered a strawberry lemonade. She asked for a refill and whether or not it was free, our waitress said yes. The bill comes and there was a charge for the refill. We didn’t mind paying for the refill, but it was the principal. Why tell a customer something is free when it isn’t?
Overall I give three stars for the margaritas and the manager who was helpful. Our waitress was slow and forgetful, but maybe she was just having an off day?

I come here because it’s a convenient bike ride and it’s right on the boardwalk. I guess what they say about business is true — location, location, location. I love summer time here when the windows are open and that fresh ocean breeze is flowing through. Get a window seat and get a great view of the boardwalk and see the ocean in the distance.
Beware with the menus, they’re all kind of sticky from (I’m guessing) spilled margaritas. I’ve always thought the margaritas are kind of weak and sugary, but once I’m out walking around I start to feel it. I like the Puerto Vallarta, which is a peach margarita.
The food is OK. I couldn’t recommend coming here for a full meal, the tacos and other main courses aren’t that great. However, the nachos are pretty good and mesh well with an icy margarita on a hot day.

Came here on Taco Tuesday and it was dead! What the heck, I thought it would be poppin’, well it is winter after all. Anyway, we waited until 10:30 so we could get the 2 for 1 price on drinks (pretty sweet deal!).
Ordered the Strawberry Margarita and it was SO GOOOD! I would highly recommend that drink.
Ordered chips and salsa for the table– it was around $ 4.50 and they nickel and dimed me me $ 1 extra for a small salsa. The original salsa that was brought out was only ¾ full and there was a huge bed of chips. Common’ for $ 4.50… and our table spent over $ 100 on drinks, the extra salsa should be a courtesy item.
Bathroom is epically small, but hey, its Newport.

Went in for their «All you can eat taco Tuesday» the tacos were good, their margaritas were super sweet, and by that I mean watered down, I didn’t taste the patron on it, which is surprising to me because Patron is really strong,
The service was okay, Jenna (Not sure if that’s her name) was super busy, she did the best she could.
Overall this place is okay, wish they had more servers on the floor for a better experience!
Ps, the bathrooms really need some serious cleaning, I’m glad I went in right before I left, otherwise I would’ve left that place immediately!

Just all around great staff and scenery between the tvs and the ocean just outside the windows

Early afternoon. Grumpy bartender. Dirty windows. Sticky bar. $ 3.50 for chips and salsa. No draft… $ 5 for Bud bottle… sign outside says 2 for 1 drinks… But evidently not now. Tourist trap. Avoid.

The drinks are good, the service is fast & very friendly, and the food is good enough for bar food.
The atmosphere here is way better than nearby bars & it’s closer to the beach.
Buy 1 get 1 drinks until 8 pm too :)

Summary: Great to come hang out after the beach or before a bonfire with a small or a big group. It’s a casual bar.
Great location;. Walking distance from the beach in Newport and the fire pits.
Drink specials: They have 2 for 1 drinks during certain time frames (4p-​8p and I think 10p to 1130p seven days a week) and 10 dollar bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s Friday through Sunday until 3pm.
Details: Been here so many times. this place was great to just drop by to grab a drink or two, walk on the beach and just hang out.
It’s a casual bar. Brought my now fiancé here on our second fun date for taco Tuesday. (Well we went to the beach all day first and then got hungry)
This bar provides a chill/​fun atmosphere.
My only suggestion based off my experience is if you’re with a big group order your drinks from the bar. (I had one experience where the waitress tried charging our group for drinks that we didn’t even have, could have been an honest mistake but it was still frustrating having to get it fixed)
This place is worth checking out.

Tasty at a good price. We got steak quesadilla and chips with salsa/​queso. Second time here both times patron margaritas are great

Cool place to quench your thirst after being out in the sun. Fish tacos were good too.

Sometimes you’ve walking along the beach, and something catches your eye. And sometimes, it is a disappointment. This was definitely not one of those times. Happy hour is a wonderful thing let me tell you. Two for one drinks. Awesome. Wicked, wicked awesome. Our bartender was fabulous, and the nachos. Oh! The nachos. Not much more could have made them better. It was such a cool place. I would loved to have spent more time there, but unfortunately we were on a time crunch and had to leave. Oh, and they had jenga too. Like a massive jenga set. Unlike anything I have ever seen. But I would have flipped if I were playing because people were using two hands. That’s totally against the rules of jenga.

Service is excellent, waitresses friendly and efficient.
Quality of food is excellent. Food was brought in a timely manner and brought out while still warm to hot. Everything tasted as expected.
Atmosphere is excellent, loud pleasent music and numerous big screen in quality high definition televisions to enjoy whatever live sport you like.
The Margaritas were average, they could had been better.

Came here on Cinco de Mayo! Great place to be especially this time of the year!
Parking: There are pay to park lots all along the beach. Free after 6pm.
Wait: Came around 3:30 with about 10 people. There were a bunch of seats open which was surprising for it be Cinco de Mayo.
Ambiance: Bar like atmosphere with a lot of TV’s playing whatever is going on that day, which was good because I didn’t have to miss the NBA Playoffs being there.
Specials: Buy 1 Get 1 Free! If you don’t want to get 2 Margarita’s you could ask for a double shot instead, which is always a great decision.
I went with Corona’s, which also came with cool Swag! Corona Hat Bottle Opener, Beer Koozie, and Poncho for the beer!
*Don’t forget to ask for Free Chips and Salsa!

Nice place next to the beach, all you can eat with tacos and 2-​for-​1 drinks on Tuesday!

Awesome place with an amazing staff. Waitresses are extremely busy but attentively refilling my bottomless bloody Mary’s. The tacos are delicious, then bloody Mary’s are great. Great Happy Hour.
Extremely slow service. The only thing I was really upset about was the service. The food was descent and the prices were great, but the lack of service and clean tables is something I can’t excuse.
I saw too many waitresses kind of wandering and talking to each other while a bunch of work needed to be done. Every time I felt like I was about to get buzzed, I sobered up to figure out where our waitress went.
Just couldn’t get the buzz going. :(
