Alamo Jacks

It’s hard to miss because it’s located on the corner of the bustling square in historic Newnan. It looks like it used to be a theater. Upon entrance, there was no one there to greet us and we sat down at a random table for a good five minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Only one waitress/​bartender was working. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was a typical bar vibe.
All in all, the drinks are very decently priced and not watered down at all. They were delicious! The food was good, but overall, it tasted rather greasy. My tomato basil soup tasted like vodka sauce. The thin crust pizza was really good and one slice in addition to the soup filled me up. Overall, I think Alamo’s should schedule more people to work at a given time.

Fun date night place and great to chill and have a couple brewskies. It’s an old movie theatre turned bar that has live music often on the stage. They also have various fun events that they plan each month. The hubby enjoys going to their Poker nights. They are right next to the delicious pizza restaurant so you can order your pizza at the bar and they’ll get it out to you. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere and definitely recommend checking it out for a fun night out.

Rude service with a dirty bar, the bathroom is worse than some of the nastier ones I’ve seen at Mexican truck stops which shows the owner and employees level of care

Terrible service. Not enough servers. Really slow. Sat At a dirty table and server didn’t try to clean. Service was rude and disrespectful. Left with empty cups for a long long long time. Will not come back.

An old movie theater converted to a bar with a stage and plenty of table space, Alamo Jacks is one of the most unique bars I’ve ever been to. My best good friend, a lifelong Georgian, goes for ‘yoke night, trivia night, etc. All three of my visits there unfortunately did not host any of those nights, but the drinks were cheap, the service was fast, and the atmosphere was pretty neat. I definitely think I’ll need to get back there at least once more.

Great pizza and sandwiches. Large beer selection including local craft beers. Nice friendly staff. Different things going on nightly: Karaōke, Trivia, poker, and Sunday showings of «The walking dead» a tv series filmed in the area.

This place is an original. It has a nice long bar, tables and roomy booths. It has a pool table too which is nice. The stage is very cute and personal. It has lots of local bands and worth checking out. The place is laid back. We had our wedding reception there and it was perfect for a group of about 50. They were really helpful in suggesting bands. Its a very cool place!

«Y’know, back in my day, this was a gift shop…» Which is probably why our hangout was in the WalMart parking lot.
The Alamo has certainly seen it’s share of re-​purposing and evolution, but I have to say… with the delicious pizza, decently priced brews and live music, this huge venue with a unique history is exactly what the ol’ square needed.

A must for anyone passing through just like for those who live near, a night at the Alamo consistently delivers. Be it the appropriately priced beverages, the game of Jenga played with 2x4s, or any of the different rotating gimmicks they have though the week, you’ll be glad you stopped in and took a load off. And don’t hesitate to order a slice from the connected Fabiano’s!

A Newnan favorite of mine! I’m here every trivia night an have a great time. The bartenders are great and the atmosphere is unique since it’s an old theater. I don’t know what the other reviewer was talking about with the ventilation because it’s no smoking. Maybe once upon a time people smoked but no more. Check out their themed parties because they are off the wall fun.

About the only chic place in Newnan to meet friends for a drink. I like the vibe it’s subdued, music is low. where you can still talk to one another. The staff always seems friendly.

–1 star for lack of ventilation. On a busy weekend night the smoke will bring tears to even the most seasoned smoker.
Great service — our server remembers us every time we go in and they make sure you always have everything you need.
Excellent wall of beer selections. These guys can recommend something new based on your criteria and I’ve found a number of new brews I’d never heard of before that I really liked.
Most nights offer karaōke for the brave that are ready to walk up on stage at this old movie house.
Huge space that is great for large groups.
Be cautious about a Friday night $ 5 cover for local bands. The last time we were there the two man acoustic set droned through sad Sting songs.
Silver Strike arcade game can keep you there for hours.
Alamo doesn’t offer food but there is a pizza place directly next door that will deliver to your table and it’s pretty tasty.
